We leave for home on Saturday Dec. 4. I wanted Chef Mickey's but the only time available was 7:05am so instead I made an ADR for 'Ohana at 8:30am. I've been checking periodically for a better time for Chef Mickey's and came across a time later in the morning! Now I'm not sure which one to keep.
'Ohana looks really neat (love that Polynesian look) but the kids haven't seen Lilo & Stich movie so they won't know who they are. I've heard Chef Mickey's is crazier but you get a lot more characters.

Here's our other ADRs:
Boma - Dinner
Rainforest Cafe Animal Kingdom - Dinner
Cape May Cafe - Breakfast
Biergarten - Dinner
Whispering Canyon - Lunch (maybe)
Crystal Palace - Breakfast

PS
I'm also thinking of dropping Boma and Whispering Canyon. Do you think kids 3 yrs and 18 months would enjoy them?

Personally I like Ohana a lot better for breakfast then CM. You do get 5 characters at Chef Mickey and 4 at Ohana, but Ohana they do a conga line with the kids and I enjoy the food more. You can always rent Lilo and Stitch before you go and watch it.

As fas as the kids enjoying Boma and Whispering Canyon, they don't have to love the atmosphere at every meal,it is good to eat a mix of adult meal and kids meal places. If you don't you, feel like you wasted your money, the buffet meals are not the best meals you will eat on property.

We love them both, if you want a more sit down relaxing type of breakfast go to Ohana (you can order a pressed pot of coffee here). If you want a buffet go to CM...you win either way :thumbsup2

I like the IDEA of 'Ohana (family style) but Lilo and Stitch are completely unappealing to me. For that reason, I'd go CM.

I wouldn't drop Boma. It has to be the single most nearly-unamiously loved restaurant at WDW.

Thanks for the tips. We're doing buffets since the kids are under 3 they can eat all they want. Also I was thinking of dropping Boma then I can do a Chef Mickey dinner one night and still keep 'Ohana.

We did Ohana's last December and we are not big Lilo & Stitch fans but PLUTO was there! Yea for me!! :thumbsup2

The food and service were wonderful...we loved it! We have done Chef Mickey's too....it's fun and more characters but seemed so much more crazy than Ohana. We had a lot more character interaction at Ohana's and you weren't getting up from the table to get more food etc. It was just a very nice meal. I'd vote for Ohana!

Have a great trip!

Ohanas Best friends Breakfast is Wonderful. Much more relaxed than CM.
Plus it's served Family Style so they bring all you care to eat to you--you don't have to get up and get it yourself--which is great when you have little ones. The POLY is beautiful. I would rent the movie before your trip so it will be fresh in there minds. Lilo is so cute and Stitch grows on you--he's fun and there is also Mickey and Pluto. I love that movie.

I've had breakfast at both 'Ohana and Chef Mickey and prefer Chef Mickey for the kids. My four-year old and 15-month old did know who Lilo and Stitch were so the character interaction wasn't as magical.

At Chef Mickey's, you get the Fab Five and our experience was outstanding. The characters spent a lot of time interacting with our table.

Even though the family-style aspect of 'Ohana's is nice, I like having more variety for the kids. There's something for everyone at Chef Mickey's.

Boma was a great buffet, even for my son who was just under three at the time. You can walk around AKL and look at the animals before or after dinner.

Your kids might be too young to really enjoy the atmosphere of Whispering Canyon but I would keep it on the list. My kids are generally well-behaved but were not great the night we ate there (it was on our arrival day after a long day of travel). The place is very loud, fun, and informal so the fact that the kids were louder than I would have liked didn't bother guests. In other words, it's very kid-friendly and you'll be able to relax also.

My dad could have written your post! I said I'm buying us breakfast one morning while we're there at Christmas, and since we don't know what parks we'll be able to get into (my sister's a CM and they get blocked out of some on big days) a resort was our best bet. I gave him a choice of 'Ohana or Chef Mickey - I found them both for around the same time - and he was adamant NO Lilo and Stitch. :confused3: So...Chef Mickey it shall be.

He loves Boma for breakfast and dinner as well. But ironically we're going to 'Ohana for Christmas Dinner. No characters then. LOL.

We did chef mickeys for dinner last time we went so we have not done the breakfast. We did o'hana for breakfast and we loved it. The kids are older at 9,7 and 5(last year) but did not really know lilo and stitch. the kids loved it my oldest even did the conga line. We are doing o'hana's for breakfast and chef mickey's for supper on Monday as our first day in the park.
Have fun planning
