I have reservations for Ohana in October. I am really disappointed by the comments on both the food and the entertainment. I know that it is a different experience for everyone. Can anyone tilt my opinion one way or another??? Thanks!!!

I was there this past spring for dinner and didn't care for the food. The shrimp was good and one of the appetizers, but the rest just so so. It looked like fun for the kids who learned to do the hula, but I will try to avoid it in the future. Wayyyy too much meat for my taste.

My Brother likes this resturant I on the other hand don't care for the menu. I like the Kona Cafe better. Just my opinion.

Sorry for the repeat respone. I didn't think the first one posted Sorry!
Computer frozed!

Here's the thing about Disney restaurants, there will always be good reviews and bad reviews. If you like quiet dining experiences, then eating at WCC, Ohana, Chef Mickey or 1900 Pk Faire might not be for you, however, if you are like my family and enjoy fun as well as good food then those places are for you. If you are looking for a quiet fine dining experience stick with V & A's or Narcoosee's, they are much more romantic quiet places.

I say...go. Form your own opinion. At least you'll be able to say you've eaten there before. FWIW, me and mine didn't like 'Ohana. Too crowded. Too loud. Food not so great. (Loved the chicken and potatoes though.) I'm sure you'll find something that you like. You won't leave hungry.

We love Ohana's, but as the pp said, you will get good and bad reviews from everyone. I would stick with the ressie and give it a try......I wouldn't let some bad reviews change my mind. I went through this same thing when I was debating whether or not to book the luau last September . I read alot of bad reviews but decided to give it a try anyway and I'm glad I did......my family and I had a great meal along with a great show :). I say try Ohana's for yourself and see what you think....you may not like it, but then again, you may find a new "favorite" :dance3:. We love Ohana's as it's a must do for us every trip (breakfast and dinner) :cool1:.

We went with extended family. A lot of meat. The kids (and kids-at-heart) can periodically get away from the table and work out their wiggles. No bothersome menu, just waves of food that come to the table. I was pleased with the food quality---crisp veggies, meat that wasn't terribly overcooked, etc.

For me, this works best as a "gathering" restaurant. I'm not sure we'll go back just the four of us until we've tried some other places first. But, if we ever return with other friends or family, this will be high on the list.

For what it's worth, a lot of the negative reviews are because "it changed" as opposed to "it's bad". If you aren't an 'Ohana purist, take those with a grain of salt.

My very picky DD(24) and I love Ohana for both breakfast and dinner. Lots of food at both. We were there in December for dinner and will be there in August for breakfast.

I have never been there for dinner but my FAVORITE character meal on WDW property is the O’hana breakfast. There is just something about seeing the MK through the big window early in the morning.

We were just there june 27 for dinner, and it was wonderful. The food was so good, loved the wings and the shrimp and bread pudding. I was prepared for overcooked meat, but everything was very tender and juicy. I was surprised that they even had med-rare steak. The serve could'nt have been better. Our server named was Carlos, but the other 2 servers in our section were awesome, too. They were actually too attentive as the really piled the food on, and a drink glass was never half before a refill came. I was actually very surpised how good everything was, for the price you pay. The hula dancing was a nice break and we had a great view of wishes. All in all a great time. It probably not be as good next time, but it is a definite must do on our list. :thumbsup2

We love 'Ohana and eat there everytime we visit WDW. That said, I would agree that it is not the place to eat if you are a vegetarian. Although, I could make a meal just of the Banana Bread pudding if I had to.:rotfl2:

Check out my pics and reviews from our March/April trip, link in my signature. That should help...we loved it!

I'm not a big fan of the meat on the skewers- it usually seemed dried out to me, and tasteless. I would make a meal of mostly the salad and appetizers. The chicken wings and shrimp (lots of them!) filled me up. We decided to take a break from this restaurant a few years ago, and never turned back...until this year and the DXDP. We had CP booked for 3 meals (B,L,&D). As big a fan of CP as we are, this was a bit much. But, we needed a MK meal that we could agree on. Tony's and the Plaza were definetly not on my wish list. I convinced DH to hop from Epcot (Teppanyaki lunch) to MK (to play) to Ohana dinner, then back to Epcot (EMH) on arrival day. Don't know how I managed to get him to agree, but I guess we'll see when we get there! Anyway, my point is that it is fun, and you should find something you like foodwise, so unless you had a better choice, I would stick with Ohana. If you already have ADRs for all the other places on your wishlist, keep this. I wouldn't do it over LC, CR, or certain character meals that are must-dos for us.

My problem with Ohana is that we have 7 ADRs and will need only six. Five of my choices are non negotiable-I am down to axing either Teppan Edo or Ohana. I know my kids would love the atmosphere at Ohana, but not so sure about the food. Any more ideas????:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I just exchanged my Tepan Edo ressie for one at Ohana. I looked at the menu and pics for Tepan Edo and I just wasn't inspired. Now we are trying all new restaurants this trip EXCEPT for Ohana. Really, it is probably my favorite restuarant as far as repeat-ability. I know the food is yummy, the entertainment is fine and not obnoxious (we don't have any kiddos) for couples. I LOVE the food. The new pork dumplings are sooo yummy. I prefer the turkey the most out of all the meat, which is strange for me because I normally think of turkey as kind of bland. Oh and the dessert is soooo good, make sure to save a least a little room!

I, too, was afraid to try it last year. Had seen earlier postings and saw mixed reviews  . But it looked and sounded great and so I thought I would give it a try. So glad I did. The food and entertainment at 'Ohana are excellent :dance3: . The atmosphere is inviting and warm. You may even get a window view of the Poly and MK. Our view was quite romantic:hug: . So please don't let the reviews influence you. Look on the different websites and see what the menu offerings are and any food porn pictures people have posted :surfweb: . Let these things be the deciding factor. That's how we made our ressies and we were never disappointed. Some meals were excellent while others a couple were only decent. We simply marked the only decent restaurants off our list for this year :teacher: . Throw caution to the wind and give it a try, you will be glad you did.

We ate at Ohana in May and really enjoyed it. Our kids had fun, and in terms of food there was something there for everyone. Give it a try!
