Been to Ohana for dinner numerous times with a rez for 2 people - always sat at a table with 4 seats. For an upcoming rez of 2 people at 5pm, some friends may be in town. If so, can I show up and ask for 4 at the table? Not able to secure a rez for 4 last minute... Opinions?

You can try. They may be able to seat you, they may not. You might want to make sure your friends have a back up plan.

It would be best if you could change the ADR ahead of time to a party of 4. If you just show up with extra people it is not guaranteed they will be able to be seated. You are taking a chance.

If they don't have any 2-tops then I'd say you'll have no problem. But if they do have some 2-tops, I sure wouldn't count on it.

My friend just got home from the World celebrating her 25th anniversary. They couldn't get a table for 4 at CRT but they found a table for 2 at lunch and a table for 2 at dinner. I told her to ask at the podium that they were celebrating their 25th and see if there was any way to do a table for 4 at one time or another. Nope. Not only did they say they couldn't. They also said if they seated all 4 at lunch they would lose what they had paid for dinner. SERIOUSLY? That's pretty rigid. I'm still amazed. They ended up sending the girls at lunch and went themselves for dinner.

There are tables for 2/3 at Ohana. We sat at one back in 2007. So, it is totally possible that you would be seated at one of these.

If you show up with 4 people, you may or may not be seated. A number of things could happen:

1) You are seated with no problem and with no additional wait

2) You are seated, but have to wait an extended period of time or treated as a walkup

3) You are told they can not accommodate the additional diners that evening

There is no way to know right now which will happen. You have to decide if you are willing to take the chance and try it. Personally, I would be checking online or calling to try and change/get a new reservation.

Thanks for your input everyone! I know it would be ideal to have a rez for 4...but it isn't for certain they are coming - they know the risks...LOL ...then if they don't show and I have a rez for 4 - I was afraid they would charge me for the 2 that are no shows..... pros and cons of the system, I guess....LOL

We had dinner at 'Ohana Christmas night. Party of 4. We were sat at a table for.... 6. :confused3 YMMV.

It is always best to call in advance. We did this with T-Rex and were able to get a couple people added. However, with O'Hana, we weren't able to add anyone b/c it was totally booked.

You can try, but don't count on it. Sometimes the size of the table is not relevant.
