Does the food at this restaurant come plain, or marinated or????
and would you recommend this?
This is the only place I am having doubts about.
My other ressies include
Kona
CG
Garden Grill
Spoodles
:confused3
Any input would be welcome- :teeth:
Thank you.

'Ohana always gets mixed reviews. Some love it, some hate it.

I've been there twice now and I'm kinda in-between as to loving/hating it. I enjoy the starters, but did not like any of the meats (all overcooked/dry). After our first trip I figured we wouldn't go back, but then they changed the menu so we decided to give it another shot. When we balanced the below/average service, great starters/dessert, great mixed drinks, below/average meats, and great view... we just figure it is just ok, but there are so many better places to eat where you can enjoy all of the meal and experience.

JMO... good luck

I agree with vascubaguy. The starters are very good but the meats are so-so at best. The sausage is down right nasty. Not one of the seven of us even finished half a link. Everything comes as is. About the only thing you have a choice on is what dipping sauce to dip your wonton in. We'll be skipping O'hana on our next trip. There are too many other great choices available. However, I love Kona and GG.

I think at least the pork is seasoned. The turkey didn't taste seasoned, could not tell about the sirloin. I completely agree with the other posters. Everything is good except the meat - the meat was dry and not easy to chew. We are glad we did it once (we were there exactly one week ago today) but would probably not return for dinner unless they change the meat choices.

We just ate there this past Wed. and the food was good. Granted the first pieces of meat were dry and over cooked, but I said something to my "cousin" and he said no problem. The next set he brought out was more of a medium sirloin and was excellent. The new scalloped (sp?) potatoes are out of this world! I don't care if they aren't considered Polynesian or not they are quite tasty! Oh and the bread pudding is to die for!
I love it, but husband can't handle a lot of meat due to surgery so it was a waste for him. Kids ordered "kids' food", so I am the only one who really ate and I loved it!! :thumbsup2

I just ate at Ohana last trip and am actually a somewhat picky eater, and not a huge meat eater. So, we were going for the huge skewers pretty much for my boyfriend. I thought it would be a great surprise to him.

To let you know about my tastes, I really enjoy all kinds of food. Sometimes really haute dining, and sometimes steakhouses (where I do usually order a bunch of appetisers or a chicken dish). I do restaurant reviews as a contract job, so I have had all kinds of experiences.

Eating at Ohana has been one of my favourite WDW experiences, and is definitely one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at.

We had great service, there was great atmosphere, and I found something on the table even for myself. The meat was not just bland, it was very flavourful and I actually ate a pretty good chunk of it. I really hope you go and try it! :wizard:

We found most of the meat to be just OK. The sirlion was pretty good (not dry at all) but a little tough. The turkey was not dry but a little bland by itself (try this with the peanut sauce). I really enjoyed the sausage and the pork. Not sure about marinating but the pork had a barbeque sauce on it that was very good. And like others have said, all the starters were so good we hardly had room left for the meats!

I'm looking forward to trying the new menu! We have always loved 'Ohana. I love to dip the meats in the peanut sauce....YUMMY!!
