We have an ADR for a late breakfast at O'hana next month. We are staying off property so will have a car (actually 3 cars). We are not planning to go to a park that day, but instead want to ride the monorail to the resorts to look at Christmas decorations. :santa:

Where do we park? Do we have to pay for parking even though we are not going to a park?

You're likely to get only a three-hour pass for parking at the Polynesian if you are not a guest there, so I don't know what to tell you.

When we ate there in August they didn't give us a parking pass at all. We didn't know they were supposed to give you one?

They may give you a 3 hour pass but honestly it doesn't matter. You can stay there as long as you like. Do they tow cars? yes though never have I seen it. Will they tow you? I would seriously doubt it. Maybe if it's Christmas or New Years day, else I wouldn't even waste energy worrying about it

Uh oh....here come the people now to tell you will get towed and I'm crazy. :rotfl:

So do we park at the Poly? Isn't it inside the MK gates? I have never been to the Poly so I'm a little confused. But I know when we ate at Chef Mickey's we just told them we had ADR's and they let us park w/out charging us anything. I think they gave us a tag for our car that had a 3 hour limit on it if I remember right.

Why do they make you valet? Wouldn't it be cheaper to park at the MK and take the monorail to the Poly?

I highly dought they would make you pay to park when you have a ADR there..I myself have never eatting at teh poly, but I have at other hotels and I never had to pay..

If you want to park at the Polynesian, you will be asked to show your photo ID at the security gate. You can tell them you have reservations and they will most likely just nod you through, or give you a three hour parking pass that no one will enforce.

Your other option is to park at the Magic Kingdom (really the transportation and ticket center). The is a nice walkway that goes from the TTC to the Polynesian. It's a short and pretty walk.

When you go through the main gate at the entrance to the MK, stay to the right tell them at the booth that you have dinner reservations at the Poly (you will not be charged). When you exit the toll booths stay to the right (MK traffic is to the left) and follow the signs to the Poly (pretty sure it is a left at the 1st Traffic light). When you pull in the guard will ask for your ID and will let you park (you may get a 3 hr parking pass), you can self park right in front of the hotel--we have never been told to valet (last time we were there for dinner was in Sept, but you never know, things can always change).

Enjoy your trip!

IMO,if you do get a three hour pass,it will be enough time to do the decorations at the Monorail resorts,as only the GF has decorations worth taking time to look at.

Just tell the gate guard you are dining at Ohana.

When we were there in April they didn't give us a tag. They took our word for it.

Now, I wouldn't park there all day...

We went for dinner last week. The guy at the gate didn't give us a pass and just told us to try and find a parking space. He said we probably wouldn't find one and we would have to use valet. Luckily we found one because I sure didn't want to pay for valet. There does seem to be limited parking there. We were there for about 4 hours because we went to the beach to watch the fireworks!
