We are trying to decide between Ohana or Whispering Canyon Cafe for dinner on our upcoming trip. We have 2 little girls (age 1 and 4). Which one do you recommend? Thanks!

Assuming that you're looking mainly at the experience aspect of the restaurants, I would choose Ohana. As a 15-year-old, I feel that some of the humor at Whispering Canyon is for children a bit older than your daughters (probably the 5- to 10-year-old range). Your girls will also have a blast at Ohana with the coconut races and free candy! Hope you enjoy your trip!:goodvibes

we didn't care for wispering canyon nither did my 2 and 4 yr old. The service was slow....I know it is supposed to be an experience but it was too long for our liking.....didn't like the food....and the ketchup bottle thing got old quick when you have toddlers that need ketchup a few times in a meal. it is on oour do not return list

I would personally pick Ohana's. My twin daughters first went there when they were 4 and loved the coconut races and hula hoop contests. Plus the food is very good.

Happy planning! :cheer2:

We enjoyed both of these very much and we have both of them planned for our next trip, but if I had to pick one i would go with Ohana soley based on that they have the bread pudding!

Definitely 'Ohana. Just don't wait to long to make an ADR. They disappear pretty quickly. Right now they are booked pretty solidly until early June.

We were really unhappy with our trip to WCC. Being a server, I am very understanding and can forgive a lot, but the service was truly poor. The food was okay but nothing that would make me suffer thorugh the service again. I have a review and pics on my first page of my TR.

Ohana, hands down!!

We were really disappointed with WCC. The meat was fatty and just not very good!!

And, I think my DD ate much better at Ohana, all she ate at WCC was the corn on the cob!! She loved the shrimp at Ohana!!

We have not yet eaten at Ohana (it is on the list for our next trip); however, even though we've not tried it yet, we would pick it over WCC. We had a horrible experience with service and food (DH got sick) at WCC and we won't return or recommend it.

We unfortunately missed our WCC ADR this past September so i can't tell you about that. However we found 'Ohana to be very hyped up. The kids did have fun doing the limbo and using the maraccas. But there were no other games played during our dinner. We loved all the food up until the meat....and that was not good at all. We love brazillian steakhouse's which are served similarly...on a skewer. But these meats were bland and dry. The bread also need butter and there was none. Also the lapu lapu is the drink everyone recommends and we didn't care for that. However the mai tai's were GREAT! I would go back to 'Ohana but IMO it's not all it's cracked up to be. Kona Cafe' was fantastic...food is awesome! So i'd say WCC only because we haven't been there.

Well, we loved WCC. The food and service were fantastic and my kids had a great time. But, the youngest was 5 at the time and just starting to get into the humor.
That said, we love 'Ohana too! My favorite dessert on property. With young kids, I vote 'Ohana too.

Wow, Ohana is the obvious winner! Yes, we are looking for the experience, but also want good food. Thanks for your help!

In the Poly lobby around 6 pm, great fire twirling show by the Chief. We were asked to be family of the night and have great memories of our first trip to Ohana.

I'd go with Ohana's. WCC is nice, but it does get very loud and annoying after awhile and that may start to scare your daughters since they are so young. Ohana's has a beautiful view and great food, and it doesn't get as loud as WCC.

Ok, I'm going to disagree with everyone else and say I would choose Whispering Canyon. We've been with our DDs (now 8 & 5) multiple times to Ohana, and although they liked the coconut race and stuff, it was always a long long meal and they got restless. Plus they don't eat any of the normal food. The waitress/waiter is always good about getting something else, but still. Our service at Ohana is always 50/50 too and last time was just horrible.

At Whispering Canyon they have the bottomless milkshakes. I think the kids tried the bubble gum one, and they may sometimes have cotton candy flavor as well? They LOVED those. We had great service here and loved the food too, and it was not as long as Ohana.

I also go aginst the flow here... was disappointed in Ohanas and liked WCC, and too me wcc has much more kid friend fare and atmosphere.
The bread pudding is excellent tho at ohanas.. but that and the salad were the only things that made the meal worth it do dh and i... ( i do have pics of wcc in my dinning report and will be adding ohana's soon.. ;))
