We're booked for CP, TH & CM for breakfast. We're definitely keeping CM for DS4 despite the reviews. I am re-thinking Tusker House. Should we keep it or go with Ohana? I am so undecided so I need some opinions. Thanks!!

From what I've gathered on here I think most people prefer Tusker House food for breakfast over alot of other character breakfasts. I've never eaten there but do have an adr for October. And I've read alot of really good reviews about Ohana's dinner but not as good about the character breakfast. Do the characters matter? If not I would choose Tusker for breakfast.

I have actually eaten at both places multiple times for breakfast...and to be honest the food was essentially the same. How many different ways can you prepare Mickey Waffles, plain scrambled eggs, and fruit? When it comes to the Disney breakfast buffets, I generally cannot tell the difference in food quality. That's just me....opinions will vary.

I thought the food was good at both places, I prefer 'Ohana because of the overall Hawaiian theme. That being said, I have ADRs to visit dine at both places for our impending trip this August.

With a 4 year old, I would consider H&V for breakfast (but maybe you want something outside the parks?) just for a variety of characters-the breakfast was fine and the character interaction was very good.

We did CM dinner and TH breakfast and it was really more of the same characters. (I did much prefer TH breakfast, but you are already set on CM breakfast) My son was just turning 3, and we had done CM before TH, and he was not wanting the characters to sign his book again b/c they already had :lmao: In other words, eating with Mickey and Goofy (his favorite) was great and magical once, but it really wasn't necessary to do it again in one trip [I wouldn't do Ohana just b/c my DS doesn't really know about Lilo & Stitch. ]

If you are looking for in the AK park to replace TH breakfast have you thought about Rainforest Cafe as something that is non-character but cool?

I can't compare Tusker to Ohana, but Tusker compared to Crystal Palace, we prefer CP for breakfast. I wasn't big on a lot of the spices they used in some of the things at Tusker. That's not to say it was bad - it wasn't - I guess we just prefer the more traditional fare at CP.

And we are the opposite. Tusker House is our favorite because of the unusual dishes they offer. We prefer to have something other than Mickey waffles.

Thanks for your replies. Since my DS4 loves the Disney Jr characters, I went with H & V instead. That was a good point that once he's seen Mickey & the others, he might not be so impressed at CM. I know the food is similar but my DH & both DS14 like a basic breakfast & lots of it. I on the other hand would like TH or Ohana but this is DS4 first trip so I'm trying to focus it all on him. I'll make a point of booking TH & Ohana both on our next trip.

We've enjoyed breakfasts at both 'Ohana and Tusker House. Tusker House is going to give you more options as it is a HUGE buffet. 'Ohana is served family style and the options are more limited. Character interaction was great at both restaurants.

At Tusker House our table was visited by Goofy, Daisy and Mickey all in safari outfits. At 'Ohana we were visited by Mickey, Pluto, Stitch & Lilo in Hawaiian garb.

Hope this helps you to make a decision. Have fun!
