'Ohana or Sanaa

We are staying offsite for our DS's first trip and we will only get to fit in a couple of onsite meals. The problem I'm having is deciding on either having Ohana dinner or Sanaa lunch. I have Sanaa booked but having second thoughts. We won't be bringing DS so it will be just the two of us for either meal and we haven't ate at either place before. We're not too bothered with atmosphere etc we just want good food. Which would YOU choose? TIA

We preferred Sanaa. It was one of the best meals we had during our stay

If its just the two of you I would pick Sanaa. It's more a couple's place and Ohana is served family style and has much more of a family atmosphere.

Plus the Kidani atmosphere is amazing.

Depends what you like. At 'Ohana, you get a set menu centered around skewer after skewer of char-broiled meats and shrimp. It's a Hawaiian theme, around the schtick that the servers are all your "cousins" and there's a kids' parade around the restaurant with Hawaiian music. Sanaa has an a la carte menu and you can order what you like. The food is African with Indian flavors and can be very spicy. You also get the added benefit of being able to see all the animals on the savanna at Animal Kingdom Kidani Village. The service and food are better overall and the atmosphere more subdued at Sanaa.

Thank you all very much for the advice! I will check out that review tomorrow, thanks for that! I'm kinda leaning towards Sanaa lunch I think, it would probably be best! And if we change our.minds and decide to have DS come along then it would be nice for him to see the animals etc! Thanks again

I've eaten at 'Ohana several times, but only recommend the location for groups, it doesn't suit duos very well.

I think you guys are right so we have scrapped 'Ohana completely and stuck with Sanaa! I'm really looking forward to it! I'll be sure to review whatever WDW restaurants we visit

We don't like 'Ohana... It verges on tacky for us and the food isn't great. (For our tastes anyway...) Sanaa is fabulous and a beautiful restaurant! You'll have a great time!!!

Actually, no- we love Disney because it isn't tacky. That's why 'Ohana stuck out to us. The lady with the ukelele couldn't sing so it was a tad painful. The actual restaurant was fine but the entertainment was holiday-camp like

Just ate at both of these this week for the first time. We loved both but I think we'd pick Saana if we had to only go back to one. Food, atmosphere, and getting to see the animals were all amazing! There were 7 of us in the party and everyone loved their meal. Service was outstanding!

Sanaa. Great food, nice atmosphere and ANIMALS. I saw a giraffe run for the 1st time while dining at Sanaa....it may be dorky, but I was absolutely enchanted Sanaa is really a gem in the never ending sea of mediocre Disney dining.

You have picked the best of the two, by far. My wife and I dined at Sanaa and Narcoossee's in October, and of the two we preferred Sanaa. This is one aspect where the AK resorts - Jambo and Kidani - really shine, as some of the best dining at Disney is at these properties.

If any of you like fish, get the sustainable fish, it's amazing!

Also, get the bread sampler appetizer, yummy! My kids loved it!
