Ohana or Jiko??

Opinions, please. We need one more sit down dinner and have narrowed it down to Ohana or Jiko? What is your opinion? Worth the money?

'Ohana is our favorite restaurant. We just took some friends of ours there about 3 months ago and they loved it. You leave stuffed and the food is awesome. The Banana Foster dessert is to die for.

We have eaten at Ohana and it was excellent. Lots of food and delicious. Service was great and also a fun place for a family.

Jiko is our favorite Disney restaurant. The food is amazing, the wine list is impresive and being at AKL is awesome! It is expensive, but worth it. Keep in mind if you are on the dining plan this one is a two credit ressie. Ohana is also a must do for us every trip, mainly for the atmosphere. The kids love it and my DH loves all of the meat! I LOVE the bread pudding they serve for dessert. SOOOOO good! We usually try to time our reservation so that we can go out to watch the fireworks at MK from the beach. You can't go wrong with either, but if I had to choose between the two I would definitely pick Jiko!

if on DDP.. Jiko is worth the 2 TS credits. If OOP.. well Ohana is less expensive and still yummers.

we love both but would be more likely to eat at Jiko on DDP rather than pay OOP cuz we eat at TS daily and that gets expensive....

now if only V&A were on DDP...*sigh*.. I'd soo give up 3 or 4 credits to dine there....

We haven't been to either yet but were faced with that choice for our trip too.

If you want fun, Disney atmosphere, and a lot of meat, Ohana. Especially if you have kids.

Jiko is more refined and allegedly has better food. It is also hard to get to unless you are staying at AKL.

We think we are going with Jiko but aren't 100% yet

you know that's a very good point.. we were staying at SoG. we took a AKL bus leaving from AK and it was still a bear to get to the restaurant, especially since we didn't realize that there are 2 stops at AKL and we weren't sure which one to get off at. Luckily we asked and got the info we needed from a fellow passenger.

We love Jiko, its one of our favourites at WDW and a must do for us when we go.

Been to both and if it was just me and DH...Jiko's all the way! Ohana is fun and festive.

I have never eaten at Ohana for dinner..only breakfast so i cannot comment on that but I LOVE Jiko.. I did not get to eat there on my last trip and this trip it was the first thing I booked.. We love AKL but sadly its not in our budget this trip so we have to make the trek there for Jiko and Boma for both dinner and breakfast.
Jiko is just wonderful.. the service is always great and the food is always yummy. Even things that you may read on the menu and go " really? I don't know" Are delicious! I would highly recommend it...

That is a difficult choice to make; I love them both. I would give Jiko the nod with the better food, but it is a 2TS restaurant and like another op stated, it is difficult to get to (we use a cab for it and Boma). However, Ohana is one of my favorites. I am a meat eater and prefer to pass on the veggies once in awhile, which is why Ohana is a must do for me.

Jiko, hands down, no question. The food is better and the service is better. It also is more expensive than 'Ohana, but so worth it.

Just add to the chorus voting for Jiko...incredible food! We've been 3 times now. The second was with my foodie Stepson (29) who was leery to say the least. Well, he ordered the filet with mac and cheese and still talks about it today, years later!

We definitely enjoy both. It all depends on what kind of experience you'd like to have. Ohana is more "fun", louder, and better suited for kids. Food is great, and there's no shortage of it. I'm craving Ohana food at the moment Jiko is much more refined, more of a fine dining experience. Food again is great, excellent wine selection.
