Ohana or Boma Restaurant? Which should we try? :smooth:

Well you'll probably get about 50/50 on this one! I prefer O'Hana hands down. I love the Polynesian Resort, I love that at some tables at O'Hana you can see the castle at MK. My two kids (9 and 11) loved the fun games they played at O'Hana, coconut races and the like. I also preferred the food hands down at O'Hana. Everything was delicous. I enjoyed just sitting, enjoying my meal and not having to get up to visit the buffet. And the buffet lines at Boma the night we went were crazy. Another great thing about O'Hana is that you can ride the monorail to MK or Epcot after dinner which is nice. If you don't have a car, Boma is a bit more complicated to get to. We will definitely be returning to O'Hana. In fact we have an ADR there for next month and are eating there the night before we take our Cruise in September. I asked my husband and kids which WDW restaurant they would all choose for our one night at WDW before our cruise and they all picked O'Hana.

I liked Boma okay, but it was just a crowded, very noisy place. Some of the food was good, they had wonderful prime rib and the desserts were delicous. However, some of it, the salads in particular I did not like. I am glad we tried it but we won't return. Too many other places we like better! And of course other's will have the exact opposite opinion of mine, so good luck with your decision!

We loved both! Ohana's is our new favorite...will go back for a 3rd time this summer. We love the food (despite those of others who now are against the new menu) and have always liked the ambiance. I recommend Boma if you like to try new foods. It was a true culinary experience! We loved the different African dishes we will never get to taste again. They have traditional American food too...like Mac-n-Cheese and chicken fingers if you have kiddos along. AKL is a beautiful resort if you have never had a chance to visit it. If you try Boma, make an evening out if it and check out the resort and the animals outside!!!

'Ohana, it is sooo delicious! I just love the steak & they give you a peanut dipping sauce that goes perfect with it. The salad was delicious, my DS attacked the wings. The most fabulous part was the Banana's Foster Bread Pudding  . It is so yummy!!

From your posting name, I take it you have kids. With that in mind I say definately O'Hanas. They do the coconut races and hula hoop games and it is a lot of fun. A very nice family atmosphere. Boma's was ok, but you must like spices on your foods, I mean a lot. At times we had a hard time distinguishing between the spice & the dish itself.

DD13, who just walked in says O'Hana's hands down. We did both last time and have O'Hana's already booked for this June.

Good luck, YO

Ohana's. Definitely, its my favorite restaurant in WDW. They have the best food and will bring you as much as you want.

This is Sandi's Daughter, Im not sure if im doing this right because my mom never showed me how to reply back. But if you ever do get this, I pick Boma. The food is GREAT and the cast mambers will give you everything and anything you would want!! They are really nice there. Im going back to the WORLD in June, and Boma is on my list of places to go. Along with the Italian place in Epcot,(if you like Italian)they are in my top 5. I try to recommend that to anyone i talk to that is going to Disney!!

BOMA vote here! I had so much fun tasting new things and they were SO NICE. Ohana I barely saw my "cousin".. I got knocked with hula hoops and coconuts most of my meal.. we waited an extra 45 minutes for a window seat.. to be seated VERY far from teh window with no view.. and 1 minute after we were seated a window seat became avail. Yes we had call ahead...

the meat was terribly dry. I liked the steak and wanted more but our Cousin never came back to offer any.

I don't think I'll ever return to ohana but boma.. I love it!

Boma!

I've loved 'Ohana every time I've been there, but Boma is a true *must-do* for me.

Another for Boma's. I think it's the best buffet in Disney.

:hippie: Boma, love it. The chef takes us on a tour of all the dishes as DH has wheat allergy. Have not tried O'Hana's yet. Maybe this Aug. :sunny:
