:wizard: We have been considering booking O'Hana since we have never been there before. Last year the reviews were terrible as far as service and food went. I noticed more positive reviews this year. Anyone been there recently? Also, we aren't beef or pork eaters and wondered if the other foods they serve make it worth the trip. Thanks for any advice!

They also serve Turkey and Shrimp on the meat skewers.

I too, had stayed away from Ohana because of less than stellar reviews, and finally this past Sept, decided to try it out.

It is now, officially, on the must do list!

Totally worth a shot!

We had a great experince last year. The food was good, not AMAZING, but it was good. The restaurant is very pretty, the cooking pit is awesome. We're going back this year as well. It's a great family atmosphere. :thumbsup2

Just remember on the boards, what one person loves the other will not! Ohana is a must have for our trip every year. We always have great food, service and fun;)

As far as food goes, Ohana is very good.

All of the dishes we like and we love the steak, pork and turkey skewers. We are not shrimp eaters, if you are just be aware they are not cleaned or deveined. Not a big deal for some but for others it is a deal breaker.

It is a very filling meal and I would say if you like turkey and they other side dishes you should be ok...BUT if you are just thinking of skipping all the skewers then I am not sure it is worth it.

But as anything else on here, what is worth it to me may not be to you and vice versa.

So look hard at the menu and decide if the price you pay is worth what you will eat.

Oh and it is all you can eat so the things you like you can eat alot of it.

One thing I do suggest is an early time for your ressie, after 6pm it gets so loud in there you can't talk or hear.

But it is a must do if you like the food!!!

Ohana is our favorite WDW restaurant. We go every trip, and the quality of our meals there has been consistently excellent every time.

We love the atmosphere with the fire pits. If you sit near the window that overlooks the volcano pool, you get a wonderful view of the MK fireworks.

Ohana is my favorite Disney restaurant, tied closely with Blue Bayou at DL. The food is amazing, love the shrimp and dessert:thumbsup2 I have always received excellent service and have been lucky to get the same waiter twice in a row. Go for it and let us know what you thought:cool1:

YUCK!!!! Everything except dessert was not good to me. Dessert was excellent but not worth going through dry meat and sweet noodle to get to. Lots of other people like it though so you might too.

We love the food here but the service is sometimes REALLY slow. It depends on your server. So, I got some of the recipes and just cook it the dishes at home. The salad dressing is so good.

It was fine. Nothing spectacular. My favorite items were the potstickers (warning- they're pork potstickers) and wings ... not the meats. I love the shrimp, personally. The bread pudding is awesome.

I had a bad experience a few weeks back, but I've had many excellent meals there too. If it's someplace you really want to try It you shouldn't let a few bad reviews stop you.

Please excuse my ignorance but I have wanted to ask for years: What in the world are potstickers? (I find the name a bit offputting, but curiosity now officially has the better of me).

We, personally, are not fans of Ohana . . . while the kids may enjoy some of the activities, we find the food medicore. Last time we went, the meats were really dry -- yuck. :sad2:

Asian-style dumplings, usually steamed. Consist of a wonton type wrapper filled with minced meat, shrimp or veggies. Sometimes they are seared in a pan to give them a little texture, which is where the name "pot stickers" comes from.

We were there last year (a week before X-mas for 10 days) and we ate there three times.

My DS 17 loves loves Ohana

There is only one person's opinion you can really rely on and that is your own. We love 'Ohana but why listen to us. Our tastes may be totally different than yours.

One thing I can say is they must be doing something right since 'Ohana is one of the toughest reservations to get at WDW. If you do plan on trying it make an ADR well in advance.

We went in September and it was very good. The meat skewers are not of the highest quality, but we enjoy the rest of the dishes quite a bit and the atmosphere.
