Ohana for dinner?

We go to 'Ohana several times a year and usually have a great time. There is the rare occasion that we get a less than ideal server but the food has always been great. I still recommend that people go and try it out.

I was there for the first time in January. It was just my wife (22) and I (26). We have no kids. Our singer was a guy, and he was enjoyable to listen to. The coconut races were not too loud, and we participated in the limbo. It was a very fun dinner experience. The music/dancing/games were not non-stop. They would sing a song or play a game, and then leave for 10-15 minutes. Then come back and do another one.

We thought the food was very good. We came home and recommended the restaurant to all of our family. Also, we are going back in September.

Salad - the dressing was a great complement to the other foods
Veggies - just ok...but I can be picky about veggies
Chicken and Shrimp - Fabulous. The sauces for both were outstanding
Sausage - OK. Not as much flavor as I would have expected
Steak - Good steak...not a steakhouse quality, but good nonetheless
Pork - Very flavorful and juicy
Turkey - My favorite of the meats - moist and tender, and great with the peanut suace
Dessert - To Die For! This was an incredible dessert. My favorite part of the meal.

Three words...peanut dipping sauce - 'nuff said. :teeth:

We liked 'Ohana in July and have an ADR to go there on our upcoming July trip. It's funny, but I'd read all sorts of negative reviews on these boards before we went last year, and I almost cancelled. But DH told me we should try it, and I'm so glad we did. It's silly, yes, and the food is not gourmet, but we liked it quite a lot overall. To me, it's classic Disney atmosphere and the food is decent.

I might have mentioned before how much we love Ohana. We are in love ohana sticky wings and salad so much that we got the recipes for both. When my family needs a disney boost, I will make this dinner, get out the flower leis and sing the "hookie lau" (spelling?). I know this sounds corney, but it really helps us get to our next trip. Disney Addicts??????:rolleyes1
Guilty as charged.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
