Has anyone been to 'Ohana lately? I have been very disappointed my last few times so I was wondering if the food quality has been improved. Any feedback is much appreciated.

I am local and go a few times a year as its one of my bestie's fave places. I never been overly impressed. Dinner is not bad, but its not something I would ever go out of my way for. I can say there is never any consistency in the food or the service. One trip the beef is dry, next time its great but the shrimp are overcooked. Their breakfast is an absolute no go for me though. It's so plain and boring and rarely even well executed. I just think there are much better places on property.

Yup, MTE. This explains why the reviews on 'Ohana are all over the place--it's one person's "never again", another person's "Favorite at WDW." Then there's the "never had a bad meal there" crowd. Those people are either reaping good karma from a previous lifetime, or have a CM s/o who works there and needs the tips. ;)

Used to love it there, but that was decades ago. I'll return someday if there's a big overhaul.

We used to love it, but now it's on our do not rush back list. The last time we were there was last Oct. and we were disappointed in the quality of the food, the service, and the overall experience. As far as breakfast the food was nothing to write home about and we haven't been back. If you really wanted to see Lilo and Stitch I guess it would be worth it, but not for the food.

My boyfriend and I just made reservations for Ohana for our trip. I was concerned about going because we have to leave Magic Kingdom to go, and then return (I love spending all my time in the park! haha). Do you think it is worth it, or should we consider somewhere else? This is the only Disney Restaurant we are going to.

We went a few months ago and were really disappointed. Not sure if it was that bad or our expectations were too high. It wasn't worth the price for us.

we went too and loved it...going again in May...and our granddaughter and her hubby are going again in June...

We ate there last night. Only our second time. First time was 2 years ago. Last night the food was excellent. I'd mark the pot stickers and the shrimp the lowest of the bunch, and they were both good, but not great. Everything else was great. Steak and chicken super juicy and delicious. Veggies and salad fresh. All was great. Service was not perfect, had to flag down our waitress for drinks every time. Had to flag them down for additional steak, the only thing we got seconds of, and then it took nearly 20 min for her to bring it. But they were busy, I understand. We will probably return.

We've liked the food the 3 or 4 times we've been in the past few years. My SO could have lived without the hula lesson.

The food is good, not great. One time the chicken was dry and the beef was still mooing! We had to ask for some a little more cooked. all the other items were fine.

Last time I went, it was some of the best Disney food I ever ate. We're going again in May, so we'll see if it's good!

I won't say that Ohana was the best food I had at WDW, but it was the only restaurant I carried over for my next trip. I've been talking about it for two years to anyone that'll listen. :) I really enjoyed the food and the experience. I didn't get the hype about the bread, but otherwise, it was a fantastic meal. We paid out of pocket.

In my opinion, it is hit or miss. It was always my family favorite, (nit mine, I thought it was "okay") but last AUgust it was not a miss, it was horrible. Even for my die hard family, it is off our list or a while.

I think if this is the only restaurant you are going to, and you're going because it's in the Polynesian, which is a very pretty resort, and it's a historical resort, being one of the first, and you'll be checking out the beautiful scenery and grounds, then go. If you're going to have a good meal, I don't know that I'd leave the park for just that reason. You could walk to The Wave at the Contemporary, and have a much better meal. Plus, that's one of the original classic Walt Disney World resorts also, and it has some great gift shops!

We went Christmas Day right at dinner opening and it was wonderful. However, I can see this place deteriorating at the night wears on. I think it would get worse, more disorganized as they try to keep up or things sit around and servers get tired. Try to go early in the service period if you can.

Was the salad "salad" or the wrap things? We haven't gone for a few yrs because we thought the meal had gone downhill. Last time we had the lettuce wraps instead of salad. I'd prefer the salad.

OP, thanks for asking the question, I've been wondering the same thing myself.

We ate there for the first time this past December and we thought it was amazing. We did have an early reservation, the restaurant wasn't full yet and we got great service. The food was great, but I would go back just for the salad. It was a beautiful green, leafy salad with an amazing light dressing with crispy strips and edammae, it was amazing. We went every year to wdw plus dl and dl paris in the paSt few years so are going to take a few years off. I hope it's just as yummy when we go back.

We went back in September and enjoyed it very much. Sure there have been some tweaks to their offerings the past couple of years, but I've certainly never left there hungry and its always the first place I'll try to get ADR's (often unsuccessfully) once I know our plans.

Seeing the Polynesian was a plus, but we were mostly going because of the meal. Ill definitly look into the wave! Thank you for the feedback and suggestion :)
