I have tried to dine at Ohana my last 3 trips with NO luck!!!!
I am going Sep 22-29...anyone have a clue whether they have a lot of no shows these days? Last Dec they told me if I waited 2++ hours as a walk in one nite I could get in but jeez I hate wasting that kind of time:confused3

Also--what is Tusker house like? Never been...

THANKS!:)

I can't speak from personal experience, but it seems like the general opinion of the board is that at certain restaurants there is almost zero chance of a walk up and Ohana is one of them. If you would ever try though, maybe try right at 4:30PM when they open.

I booked my September trip in July and have been trying to get Ohana ever since then....no luck! But I will probably be doing bounceback, so I'll book a trip for September 2010 and get to make my ressies 180 days in advance!!!!

We went to Tusker house for lunch last trip.....I liked it, but my DBF thought it was "so-so." I didn't think the food was too exotic, there was plently of American type food for me. But he has a different opinion....

I have heard that the TH breakfast is good, but that all WDW breakfasts are almost the same.

I haven't been to Ohana (or WDW) since 2006, but it's definitely amongst my favorites and is a "Must Do!" for me anytime I go to Disney World. I was flabbergasted by how difficult it's been to get an ADR there for this upcoming trip in December! I finally did land a late ressie at 9:45pm for one night of my trip, and I'm very thankful for it. I definitely will use it if I can't secure something earlier (we prefer to eat around 5:00pm). But geez! :lmao:

Good luck to you! :)pixiedust:pixiedust:
I'm going the 20-25th, and I've been trying since my 90day mark and nothing....I'm kinda bummed, but I'm hoping there are some no shows too...pixiedust:

Ahhhhhh so not just me.
Last December (we were staying at the Poly) and every nite we tried..and every nite they told us it would be a 2 hr wait. Yet a friend of mine booked a trip for Aug in late July and got rezzies for 7 no problem??? I guess it's just right place right time:confused3

My trick for getting our ADR this trip, because I knew that they were getting harder and harder to get: I did on line dining, I was up early (5:30 am est). I planned to eat at Ohana late in our trip, but this is the first ADR I tried to get. I knew that the pickings would not be good, so I was willing to take anything that they offered me. We are going Dec. 2 - 9, and we are eating at Ohana on the 8th, we wanted 7:00pm and we got 6:40pm. So we took it. Good Luck I hope something comes open for you.

I'm having the same problem at Ohana for my December trip. Called 90 days out and the only things I could get were 9:45p - way too late, but I took it. I'm staying at Poly so thinking of walking up at 5pm and just putting my name in - the wait won't be as bad since I can essentially wait in my room for most of the time.

We just got back from a trip and ate at 'Ohana on the last Saturday of our trip (with an ADR made 97 days out with the 90+10). We were staying at the Poly and noticed that the night of our reservations the lobby around 'Ohana was a madhouse starting at about 5:00.

Not sure if you can wait in your room as the beeper they give you only works on the 2nd floor.

We really enjoyed our meal, especially the two servings of the bread pudding.

I too have been trying since my 90 day mark...but no luck! We haven't eaten there since 2002 so we really wanted to take the boys.
My DSIL who just took her 1st trip to WDW for the 1st week of FD and who didn't know much & didn't ask me for much advice...I ask her where they ate and she tells me O'hana. What the....???:confused3

we did walk in last dec for chef mickey and 1900
both we DH figured we would try at 1900 we wee buzzed with in 5 minutes and chef mickey we were buzzed with in 15
we figured the worst that could happen is the kids got fuzzy and we would go somewhere else
we were going to look around the GF and didn't even get a chance

We LOVE Ohana and that was the first ADR I tried to make at our 90+10 day mark. I could not get anything. I kept checking online and calling but had no luck. I have now just given up. We would have have loved to eat there as it is our favorite place to eat at WDW but it won't ruin our trip. We will just try again next trip ;)

Strange. We are going in December, and I got Ohana no problem at my 90 day mark. We are actually eating there twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner.

I had no problem getting a ressie May. I would not go to DW if I could not eat there again!

someone has Ohana's for 5 right now to give away for sept 28th at 8:15 pm. Check out the September trade/cancel/swap thread!

I also tried to get Ohana for that week and couldnt so I decided to try Kona which I am very excited about! Its a tradition to have the first night dinner at the Poly and every yr its been Ohana so I was really dissapointed but when I saw Kona was open I thought why not, we've been wanting to try it and its still at the Poly! Sometimes plan B works best, but you can always keep trying up up until you leave and even calling when you go by, I wonder if you ask the restaurant to call you (while your in WDW) if a cancellation comes up if they will?

I promise you, you will not be disappointed! We ate there in Aug. and we were so pleasantly surprised. It was DHs favorite meal of the trip. He had the NY Strip and he said it was fabulous!! Then the deserts are to die for! I hope you enjoy it.

If you can't score an ADR to 'Ohana, try to 'walk-up'. Very nicely ask if there is any chance you can get a table. If there is a two hour wait, no problem...get yourself a nice tropical drink, wander around the Poly, and just relax (you'll probably be thankful for a little rest after touring the parks all day!) DON'T get appetizers while you wait, no matter how hungry you are, because you'll want to save all the room you can for your (eventual) gut-busting feast.

Keep trying! I had BC IPO try, with no luck except 9:45 for one of our days. I kept checking myself since they are no help, this morning I checked the date range and lo and behold they had availability for our second day. I called and had ADRs moved around to accomodate the change. Good luck!

That's really odd, did you try on your 90 day ADR day, or is this a spur-of-the-moment trip? I've gone to WDW every year for the last four and never had problems getting Ohanas on the first ressie day. :confused3
