We are heading to WDW in June with a group of 17 (8 adults / 9 kids). We currently have an ADR for Ohana for dinner on our last evening. We have a few of the kids that are picky eaters. From the menus posted on WDWInfo.com, I noticed that Ohana offers alternative choices such as Nuggets, Mac & Cheese, etc.

My question, for anyone who might have prior experience with this situation, is....do they charge you the full $14.99 child's price for these alternative selections?

I've read that the alternative selections may actually come from the Kona Cafe next door. I was just wondering if they would maybe charge the menu price from Kona (which I figure would be around $7 to $8) or if they still charge the regular $14.99. I know that you are paying for the atmosphere of the restaurant, but $14.99 seems a bit steep for nuggets to feed a 5 year old.

Does anyone have experience with the prices for the alternative kid selections at Ohana's Dinner?

Yes, they charge you the full kids price, enen if they eat grilled cheese. If you order them a seperate kids meal, they are still allowed to eat anything they like of the table too.:thumbsup2

How does that work if you're on the dining plan? We have a daughter that's picky about what she eats. Are we charged one credit for the family style meal automatically for her and then would we also be charged an additional dining credit if she orders the grilled cheese, nuggets, etc.? Or would I only get charged one credit? Or would I pay out of pocket to receive the grilled cheese, nuggets, etc.?

One child's TS credit. She can eat anything she likes off the table and also get a kids meal...all for one credit.:thumbsup2

BTW, you often have to ask for the alternate kids selections, some servers do not tell you they are available. Others wait until they see a child not eating, still others offer it right away.
