Do we have to pay the MK Parking Charge if we are going to The Poly for Dinner?

We didn't this past spring when we had dinner there and we were staying off site (nor Jiko at AK).

If you are having dinner at the Poly just tell the booth attendant you have an ADR at the Poly. They will let you through. The sam holds true for the guard booth at the Poly. The guard may ask you for your ADR and check. They may also ask for your drivers license.

Self-parking is free. You can also valet for a charge. If you have a DDE card you can valet for free, but don't forget to tip the valet.

If you're eating at the Poly, then that's where you'd park. If you plan on going to the MK and you're staying offsite, I can't imagine them letting you park for free in the MK parking area. It IS WDW, so I suppose it's possible, but if it were me, I'd just go straight to the guardshack at the Poly, tell them you have an ADR(they'll ask your name and look it up) and park there.

Are you parking at Magic Kingdom or Poly? We went to Ohana for dinner and parked for free at Poly. Like others have said, just tell the guard you're going to Ohana for dinner. They have no problem with that. As for parking at MK, I don't think they'd let you park there for free.

I agree with the others, and also you want to get as far to the Right as you can going through the MK gates. Just through them the road to the Poly veers off to the right quick. Last time i knew where i was going and still missed it.

We almost did the same thing but were able to get over in time. I didn't see any need to valet park, the parking lot is really close to the resturant.

When we had breakfast at the Poly, they gave us a parking pass for 1-2 hours, can't remember exact time. But parking was free.

A lot depends on both the time of your reservation and the MK hours. They tend to pull people out of the toll plaza booths about two or three hours before park closing under the assumption that Day Guests will not be coming in that late and that people with APs or staying on property park free anyway. (EMH does not matter since it is for Resort Guests only.)

However, if MK is open late and you had to pay the toll, bring your time-stamped payment receipt with you for refund of the $10.00. Just be aware that if the receipt is not from the MK toll plaza, or it is time stamped more than about an hour before your reservation, you will not get it refunded.

You will be given a 3 hour pass when dining at any of the hotels that have some type of direct park access (monorail resorts, WL, BC/YC, BW). This pass will be free. I believe the logic behind the 3 hour limit is to discourage people from parking there and going into the parks instead of actually eating. I know the last time I stayed at Poly the parking situation was somewhat tight when returning to the hotel at night. I'm sure it was due to the popularity of Ohana and the Luau, but I think that is why they limit it.

They'll give you 3 hour parking pass but then you'll have to move your vehicle. You can also use the valet and I don't believe there's a time limit for that but you may want to call the resort directly to confirm. I believe you can also park at the TTC then transfer.

The bottom line is you cannot park at the resort and then leave your vehicle to go to the MK. Doing so infringes upon the guests actually staying at that resort.

I just wanted to mention that over the last 2 visits I've had ADRs at Poly, Contemporary, WL, and Beach Club and the only ones to actually issue a 3 hour pass were Poly and CR. I've done WL and BC on each of the last 2 trips and the gaurd just waved me through.

The only restaurants you might have to worry about paying to park are the restaurants in the monorail resorts, because you have to go through the MK toll plaza.

Sorry about the info being incorrect. 3 hours sounds more like it. I haven't been there in a few years. Wish I could go every year.

If you are going to MK during the day, then yes, if you are just going past the parking payment booths to get to the poly then no.

It's not just about the cost of parking. Once again, you can't just park at the Polynesian and then leave your vehicle and go to the MK even if you are dining at one of the restaurants there. Put yourself in the place of a guest staying there - you wouldn't be very happy if you couldn't find parking due to visitors taking up a space and then going to the parks. :)
