My family of 7 will be visiting Disney Aug 3-13. We would like to do one character breakfast. It will be me, DH, DD-16, DD-9, DD-7, DD-4, DS-2. Out of Ohana's, Chef Mickey's, and Cape May, which is the best for the ages? Do we have to include our 2 year old in the reservations? Also what are the prices for time we will be there? I think half the time is in reg. season and half in value. (not sure if it matters, was just going to schedule during the cheaper time =) As for characters they would be thrilled with any of these spots. Thanks! :cool1:

Out of Ohana's, Chef Mickey's, and Cape May, which is the best for the ages?>>I personally do not like Chef Mickeys. Yes the characters are good, but the food quality & selection is crap. :( Sorry. The food wasnt even warm, it was lukewarm. I just didnt like it and wouldnt go back. I LOVE Ohana's thou!! Its a nice relaxing family style all-you-can-eat. So no need to sprint to the buffets, and you wont miss any characters while you are at the buffet. The food is GREAT!! Esp the pineapple bread & lilikoi juice! YUM! I havent been to cape may yet, will be going in August. But I heard from many ppl that its fantastic! Cant wait to try.

Do we have to include our 2 year old in the reservations? >>>Every human being, no matter how small, must be included in the reservation. What if you need a highchair for your 2 yr old? they take up space, therefore, must be included.

As for prices, you should look on allears.net or this website for prices.

:thumbsup2

Thanks! I was leaning to Ohana's. Is Mickey there? I have heard he was..but not listed on Disney's main page.

Yes Mickey is definitely there!! Along w/ Pluto, Stitch, & Lilo. The characters are fantastic. Stitch is a riot!!!! For the little ones, they do a fun conga line thingy. So cute. its such a fun relaxed environment. Resort is gorgeous too! Nice view. ;)

We really enjoyed Ohana. They lost our reservation and the CMs at the podium were really rude, but the food was wonderful and so was the character interaction.
I also liked Chef Mickey's, though. I though the food was good and the service was great. Only my youngest granddaughter (almost 3) and I went to this one, and our server took pictures for us - and made sure she was always available to do so.

No matter which you choose, have a great trip.

Both Cape May and Ohana are great in my opinion. Not very high on Chef Mickey's. For all the girls in your family, Cape May will give them Minne Mouse, Goofy, and Donald Duck, while at Ohana, you will get an audience with Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stich.

For me it would depend on what resort I am staying at?
If you are in a resort on the monorail loop then I would recommend Ohana.
If you are staying in an Epcot resort then I would recommend Cape May Cafe.

Will you have a car or are you relying on Disney Transportation? If you have a car then it will be easier to get to any of these but Disney transportation that early in the morning is sometime cumbersome.

Also, if we were to eat at Cape May, we would probably use the International Gateway entrance and do Epcot that day.

Either way, I hope you enjoy your trip.

We've had similar experiences at Chef Mickey's. Without us having to ask as the first character came around our waitress came to our table (just my girlfriend and myself) and offered to take pictures of both of us with the characters, and she seemed to make it a point to be there for us as each character came around.

Out of the ones you mentioned I would go with Chef Mickey's (then again, I can't stand Stitch and since you expressed interest in seeing Mickey and he isn't at Cape May, it helps narrow my opinion for you, OP, down).

I would also throw in the option of doing Tusker House @ AK for breakfast. You meet with Donald outside (the will take a picture with your camera so you don't have to purchase the photo package) and Mickey, Goofy and Daisy come to the tables, all in their Safari outfits. We have always had a good meal there. If you can get an ADR before the park opens, it is a great way to get some shots of the Tree of Life without anyone really in your way. :thumbsup2

We have a Chef Mickey ADR for Sat night for a little boys first trip.. Hes pretty easy to please..LOL

We have Ohana breakfast ADR for DD 15th bday in Nov and Im looking fwd to it

Cape May gets my vote for breakfast every time. It's a lot quieter than Chef Mickeys and the character interaction is better....just a shame the Big Cheese is not present, but Mrs Cheese is very accomodating.

Thanks everyone! We have decided on Ohana.:yay: I really like the the way the meal is served (family style) with small kids...much easier. I have Lilo and Stitch movie coming from Netflix to familiarize the smaller kids with the characters. :) Since Mickey's is there makes it perfect for us! I also am really looking forward to the pineapple bread a juice they serve.:goodvibes

We are staying at Fort Wilderness and we will have our truck, but we would really like to try the monorail. Do you know how we would go about this?. We are planning to just have breakfast at 10 and relax around the campground so time is not a issue. Thanks.:)

If you want to use the monorail, I would take the boat from Ft. W to MK and then hop on the resort monorail to the Poly. The boat ride is pretty nice and relaxing. :thumbsup2

We have done Chef Mickey's and Cape May and also 1900 Park Fare and Cape May is the best hands down!! Great characters and service. Atmosphere was awesome also
