Which one do you prefer and why?

Tell me about the food selection at each, as well as character interaction.

As well, the coffee, do they only serve WDW's famous Nescafe, or does either of them have a decent cup of coffee?

Never been to Ohana but have been to Tuskershouse a few times and love it. Character's inculde Donald Duck, Daisy, Mickey, Minnie and Goofy in a safari theme which is really cool. The food was very good,( eggs, meats, bagels, danishes, cereal's, casserole dishes and more.) They have this juice called " Jungle Juice" which is amazing, it has orange, guava and passion fruit juices! The atmosphere is really worth it, they do a congo line during your meal and encourage people to participate!

:cool1:  :thumbsup2

On our last trip we noticed an overall decline in the quality of the food at the table service restaurants. The exception to that was Tusker House, it has proven to be consistently great every time. We don't miss it for this reason. :)

The food has a great selection of traditional food along with other selections, and I'm a big fan of their desserts.

I'd have to say to go with O'hana. Our recent experience with Tusker was less than stellar. We had pre-park opening ADR and still were sate 20+ minutes after our time. We were completely finished with the entire meal (6 of us--with multiple trips to the buffet) for 15 minutes prior to being presented with the bill. It took our server 10+ minutes to run the credit card, and we had that taken care of for awhile before we ever saw our first character. Yes, FIRST character with super slow service. We won't be doing Tusker House again.

Tusker House hands down.

1. It is a buffet, so there is a lot more choice on foods (even mealy pap, roast beast, chocolate croissants, and more) and it is good food at that
2. Better character interaction
3. Is inside a park (so if you get an 8am ADR, you can be first on the safari

I'm not saying Ohana isn't good, but if I weren't staying at the Poly, Contemporary, or Grand Floridian (which I won't be) I wouldn't go out of my way to book breakfast there.

On my 3 trips in 3 years, I have done both each time. They are both very good and worth your money. I think it is more about it fitting into your schedule than if one is better than another... HTH

Tucker House by far is our fav. I enjoy the early morning walk through before it crowed. Also the safari ride after breakfast watching the animals is kinda relaxing.

I really love both. But I like Tusker a bit better because of the food selection. INCREDIBLE variety and quality. Its delish. Plus the characters are pretty great.

Both Character Meals are really great but for different reasons. If I had to choose, I'd select Tusker because of a combination of better food selection, loved the gang in their safari outfits and being inside a park was a bonus so we could jump on the Safari. If you have time, do both! They're great for different reasons.

Both only serve the regular Nescafe coffee unfortunately. Very disappointing given the wonderful food available, I would have expected Disney to offer much better coffee! Most days every morning, we did a Starbucks run before going into the parks.

Ohana

Character interaction was wonderful. There is Stitch, Lilo, Mickey and Pluto. We were there on a quite day (There was morning EMH at Magic Kingdom that day) but we actually got the characters over to our table twice because hardly anyone was there and they were literally just standing around. We took alot of photos and video during the breakfast and they gave us alot of time. They also do a dance around the room every half an hour that you can join in with.

Food was quite good, much smaller selection then at Tusker. The food is brought to you on skillet and we could ask for extra as well. The food cooled down fairly quickly though we noticed.

Service was quicker then at Tusker. Bill was settled within 5 minutes, we requested more food and coffee and it was there very quickly.

Tusker House
There is a much large food selection available here. It is a buffet style meal and there is literally anything you could be hoping for. Hot food, breads, fruits, cereal. I have allergies and the chef offered to make me anything I wanted in particular.

Character interaction was terrific. Loved the gang in their Safari outfits! They did a conga through the restaurant as well, which was fun. We weren't rushed and could take as many photos as we wanted. It was quite busy and we had the earliest ADR you can book.

Only downside was being a buffet, you need to leave your table to get the food. The servers are very good but you need to keep an eye on when the characters are coming around so you don't miss anyone. We found our server quite slow when we asked for the bill and that took about 10-15 minutes to finalise so we had to wait around for awhile.

Just a quick tip about buffets and CMs slow to bring the check. We always ask for it right away when we sit down. That way we can add tip when we feel like it, but don't feel held hostage when we are wanting to get a start on our touring.

Awesome detail...

Makes me shake my head and wonder why Disney doesn't have fresh brewed coffee, especially at O'hana - seeing as Kona offers pressed pot Kona Coffee.

We really enjoyed both these breakfasts, but Tusker House is our all time fave character breakfast, we love the extended selection options there. It is true that both serve Nescafe, though it seems like Ohana did used to allow you to get Kona, or maybe I am getting those mixed up. I guess if good coffee was SUPER important, you could also grab a coffee at the coffee bar outside Kona before you are seated at Ohana, anyway. We have had excellent character interaction at both restaurants, and we also always ask for the bill at the beginning of service so that we don't have the delay.

Agree with those who said Tusker House. We did both breakfasts in September. We found Tusker House to have a MUCH bigger selection and the service was much better. Ohana was basic bacon and eggs type of a breakfast. When we left, we joked that we just spent $50+ on bacon and eggs. We also found the character interaction to be better at TH.

We love Ohana  We go there for breakfast each trip. Love the food, characters and parade the kids join in on.....haven't been to the Animal Kingdom breakfast in many years, back then it was Donald's Breakfastosaurus. It was good but not like Ohana.
