We are staying at the GF and I have an 8:55am ADR at Ohana for the day we leave. Our plane departs at 1:55pm. Do we have enough time to enjoy our breakfast, get back to GF, check out and board ME??

You will be cutting it very close.

You scheduled ME pick up time will be around 10:55, and you need to be at the bus stop, ready to go, 15 minutes before that. Busses do show up early and they do leave early.

To have any shot of it working you would need to be checked out of your room and all packed up before going to breakfast. Still, that leaves you just over an hour and a half to have breakfast and get back to your resort. If they are running behind seating people at Ohanas at all, you will have a problem.

I probably wouldn't do it.

No.

I would guess that the best ways back to GF would be walking or a taxi if you insist on trying this.

If your last activity in town is a meal, best to do that at the airport.

For those eavesdropping (and not able to walk back to your resort), shoot to be back at your resort an hour before your DME bus time.

For an 8:55 ADR, I would arrive by 8:45 and hope to be seated early. Then, assuming it takes about an hour, you will be done by 10ish. Since GF is the next stop on the monorail you should be at the GF no later than 10:20. Your pickup time for DME will be about 10:55..give or take 10 or so mins on either side. You should be out at the DME bus stop, all ready to go, everyone in your party there, no later than 15 mins prior to the time you have been given. If that time is, say, 10:50, you need to be at the bus stop by 10:35. Can you make it? Most likely. Not sure why you would need to 'check out'..if you have left a credit card upon checking in, there is no need to check out. If you have't, then check out before you head to breakfast.

I would pay the bill at 'Ohana as soon as you sit down..then you can eat and just leave, rather than wait around for your check to come.

I have to ask..why in heaven's name would someone need a cab from the Polynesian to the GF??? It's about 2 mins via the monorail. And I don't agree that you need to be at your resort an hour before DME pickup time. I think 30 mins is much more reasonable. You do need to be at the bus stop, ready to go, at least 15 mins before the stated pickup time since that time is the time the bus will leave, not when you should be walking up.

I agree - this is definitely doable with forthought. The Poly is right next door to the GF and an easy walk/monorail ride. I would do the monorail as its right out the door from Ohana's (practically!).

As far as checking out...take care of anything related to that before going to breakfast. If you are dropping off bags to RAC do that before breakfast, any questions with your bill?...take care of that before breakfast. If you have carryons that will be the only thing you need to do once you arrive back at the resort (either pick them up for bell services or if your room is handy have them stacked and ready there to pick up.).

I would also arrive early for breakfast (but I do that anyway). I think the OP really has ample time to do this and its a good way to spend the morning.

Walking back to your resort (Poly' to GF which I think is just a tad more than a comfortable distance) you are in full control.

I would try not to use the monorail for a time critical journey, too many stories of breakdowns delays.

Thanks for all the help. I think we may try to make it IF we can get up and be at Ohana early. We have no other breakfast ADRs so I would really like to keep this one. We have to take the monorail b/c my Father just had knee surgery. The walking is going to be tough for him. Can't wait....15 more days!

I can't wait to get there either....17 days for me, but who's counting!!!
Anyway..if you need to be at 'Ohana by 8:35ish (you need to check in at the podium about 10-15 mins before ADR time anyway) you should get the monorail from the GF by 7:50ish..just in case you miss one you won't be late by having to wait.
The other thing you can do, is to take the small boats..if they are running. When they run between the MK, GF and Polyesian, they usually go to the Polynesian after picking up at the GF. You can check that out when you get there. Then you wouldn't have to get moving quite so early.
