I know I've read on here somewhere that you can eat at Ohana's and see the fireworks show from MK. IS this accurate? If so what time should I try for with a PS? Do I request a certain spot in the rest. once we're there? Do we go out on the beach for the fireworks show? Does anybody know? Thanks for the help.:earsboy: :earsgirl: princess: princess:

If you time it right, you can in fact see Wishes from Ohana and from what Ive heard they pipe in the music and narration. However, I wouldnt go there just to experience that. There are many seats that are not near a window(Ive been seated in those the 2 times weve eaten there), and that would be quite a disappointing experience. You can request a window seat, but its not guaranteed so you would be taking a chance.

You can see them from the beach at the Poly and we have heard the soundtrack over near the marina. If seeing Wishes is a must you could plan to have dinner before and then you could get out to see them. Or if Wishes is early, plan on your dinner after Wishes.

Hope it works out for you, one way or another. :D

Completely agree with CamColt.

Yes, you can see it if you are lucky enough to snag a window seat facing it. But many many tables in the place have no view at all, ours didn't. You, of course, can walk around and view it, but there is a weird step down in the restaurant so in order to view it, we had to bend over LOL. Wishes is about 14 min long, so after about, say, 2 min you'll retreat back to the comfort of your chair and forget it. Which is just what we did. None of the tables around us even bothered.

THey do dim the lights a bit and pipe in the music, but things were still going on around us... food delivery, conversation, etc.

It's not a really great view, certainly not as magical as standing on Main St, since you're pretty far from it.

If you want to shoot for it, make a PS about an hour before Wishes is scheduled that night, and then arrive early and request a window seat to see it. I would think you might have to wait awhile, but I have no clue as we didn't bother... I bet alot of people request it.

Or you could eat there, and then just head to the beach to see it, and be guaranteed a view =)

The food is incredible there, our fave restaurant so far, so Wishes or not, you'll enjoy your exp!!!

wishes at 'ohana is one of our must do's every trip. its second only to wiches at the cali grille.

As other have said, the view of Wishes from inside the restaurant is really dependent on where you're seated, but they do dim the lights and pipe in the music/narrative. The beach at the Poly is a great place to actually see the fireworks but you probably won't hear anything to go with it...
The best restaurant to see and hear Wishes has got to be CA Grill, hands down!

We had one of the first seatings in November, ate leisurly, poked around for a bit and viewed Wishes from the pier outside. It was very relaxing and magical, with the music piped in. I'm glad I saw Wishes from Main Street first, as it was meant to be seen, but I also enjoyed the laid back venue and the fact that we didn't have to fight the crowds afterwards. My point is that if you can't see it from inside the restaurant, you can always get a good view from the outside.

thanks for the ideas guys. I am trying to plan a day of rest mid-week. I think a dinner and stroll on the beach to see the fireworks sounds great. I am interested in the Ca. Grill too. What is it exactly? P.S. Couldn't plan my trip without these boards.:earsboy: :earsgirl: princess: princess:

That's what we're here for :).

I saw Wishes from 'Ohana on our last trip. We were on the second tier of tables back from the window. It was OK, but the people who had the table in front of us glued their faces to the window and we couldn't see much around them. The left part way though and we had a better view. I made my PS for 1 hour before Wishes and requested a fireworks view table. We had to wait a few minutes longer, but I was happy to sip my LapuLapu and wait :teeth:.

I think the view is better from the California Grill since you're above the fireworks. It's easier to stand behind the other tables and see the fireworks or you I think you can still view it from the deck. The last time I was there I watched the fireworks from the bar where we were eating.

Make sure to bookmark Deb Will's great website All Ears: http://www.allearsnet.com/din/dining.htm which has menus of all the WDW restaurants.

Both restaurents pipe in the music. IMO, the California Grill is more of an adult restaurant and 'Ohana more of a family restaurant. However, you'll find kids in both places.
