Okay, so we are heading to Disney in May. It was a last minute trip decision. The only place the whole family REALLY wants to eat is Ohana's. Problem is, the only times I can find are 8:30-9:30. Do they ever have tables set aside for walk ins? How likely am I going to be to get a cancellation for 5? Or, is it just worth it to stick with a 8:30 reservation? :confused3

Keep checking. There is also a cancellation thread for May ADRs that you can check as well all the way up until you leave. If worse comes to worse, you can try and arrive at 4:00-4:30 and check-in as a walk-up, but that may not work.

I would take the ressie and keep checking for a better time.

Walk ups at Ohana are very very difficult to get. If you get lucky and they say yes it is usually more than a 2+ hour wait.

We see this everytime we eat at Ohana.

No walk ups.... I would keep looking everyday... sometimes twice a day. Specifically make it a point at the 45 day mark. Some people will end up cancelling right before their final payment is due. When that time rolls around I've noticed there tends to be a few opening at some of the harder to get places.

Really, it is hit or miss with walk-ups. Depending on what time you get there, you may get in or you may wait for a while. We have done walk-ups at O'hana before. The key to getting a walk-up at one of the restaurants is to go 30 minutes before they open and get your name in. We've gotten into Chef Mickey's every trip we've gone on as an early walk-up and have never waited more than 15-30 minutes. Now, Le Cellier, on the other hand...Dh and I walked up to the podium and said we had a reservation and the CM automatically rattled off that they were fully booked at 180 days and there was no availability for walk-up. I said, "Ummm, we have an ADR." And she said, "Ooooooh! Sorry about that." I said, "You must be really used to saying that, huh?"
