I am along time Disney visitor & I have had dinner at most of the dinning venues....unfortunately I have never made it to Ohana.
I am a total "foody" and worked in the fine dinning industry in Chicago for 6 years.

I was able to make it with my 2 children (B-7 & G-8) last month.
We were at Magic Kingdom on Tuesday 3/1/11 with a 5:50 ADR.
We made it ther by 6:00 and were seated promptly.

The restaurant was full & the place was very active.

We were greeted with bread & salad & our drink order was taken.
It took alittle bit but chicken wings & potstickers were delivered with our drinks. The food quality was excellent. The salad was chilled, crisp & tasty. The wings & dumplings were perfect- they were hot and prepared flawlessly. We all ate a ton of this stuff.
I think we could have left right then and been happy! LOL

Then then brought platters of lo mien noodle & crunchy stir fried vegtables (peapods, brocoli & carrots with lots of garlic)....they then came around with shrimp then pork and chicken, and finally steak. I wanted the pork but decided the steak & the chicken tasted best.....it was really yummy!

Well....now we were full but was very interested in sampling the bread pudding- the kids were ready for some ice cream with sprinkles.....the dessert was totally fabulous even as full as i was......
:)

This was the best restaurant experience I have had at Disney in recent memory.....It totally rocks!!!!!!!

I am so glad to hear that! I will be having my first meal at O'hana on arrival day. Can't wait, but from what I've read here, I will HAVE to pace myself, and show up with an empty stomach!

My husband and I had the same experience the first time we went. We thought we would never be able to eat the dessert, and it was so good, we ate it all. That was after not being able to get ADR and were able to get a walk up ressies for 2. Last trip, I took mom and dad there and they loved it. This trip I hope to be able to get ADR for 7 of us! This is a must for us. ADR in 15 days!!

thank you, I needed a good review. ppl give such terrible reviews sometimes it makes me so afraid to go but its been one that I really wanted to try. 75 days and Ill be eating there and I hope to enjoy it as much!

We had our first Ohana experience on our December 2010 vacation. We actually arrived on Thanksgiving and did the Luau (which was good). I pushed for Ohana in our pre-planning stages and finally won. The food was amazing, service great, and atmosphere second to none. I think the high light for me were the kids activities with the singing, dancing, and coconut races. My daughter loved it! One of the best dining experiences I've had at Disneyworld. We'll definitely go back to Ohana!

Thanks you for the review! Now I can hardly wait to go. We will be having dinner there a week from Tuesday (3/29) when we are visiting the Magic Kingdom. I even ordered a cake for my mom's birthday (made an ADR sometime back). We've always loved the Polynesian hotel and the food, dating back to 1971, but we haven't eaten there in the last 10 years. Your descriptions got my mouth watering.

Great review! I currently have a reservation and was seriously thinking about cancelling, but think I'll hang onto it. Thanks:goodvibes

thanks for the great review! we went to ohanas last september. it was the best. cant wait to go back!

I agree with what another poster said, thank you for the positive review! I think its fine to have some "things didn't go quite" right parts to a post but sometimes these reviews are down right nit picky and miserable!

Like my mama always says "when you go lookin' for negative, you will ALWAYS find it!"

Glad you liked ohana's, we love it every time we do it!

Thanks for that!!! We have NEVER eaten at O'hana for dinner either and have been to WDW MANY times!! Breakfast, yes so we are soooo looking forward to the dinner experience!! 8:00 PM on 8/29/2011!! :cloud9:

Glad to see positive review. we went for the 1st time last year and enjoyed it. My mom requested again this year but I was thinking of Kona instead after some recent negative reviews.

Love me some Ohana; it is always a must-do for us. Glad you had a great experience too!

Thanks for the good review, I am prepareing my list of ADR's and was on the fence about booking 'Ohana or not since we have never been. It sounds yummy.

You just sold me :)...original plan was the dinner show there for our last night (as this was the only disney dinner we did when my parents brought us when I was a kid) but then I learned it was 2 TS on the dining plan :( so last night was open and I didnt know where to eat. This is our MK day and it closes early (at 7pm) and we dont have park hoppers so was limited to resorts...just made my ressie :)

I've been going back & forth on making an ADR (due to mixed reviews). I decided to go for it :thumbsup2 & now the on-line ADR system is down--maybe its a sign (J/K) but after reading your review I'm going to keep trying :)

Thanks!

We love O'hana's....especially when you are lucky enough to get a Castle view window seat at 8:30. :) But, we also find that the experience is so much better when we have a larger group. The larger the group, the more you tend to "nibble" as opposed to "gobble". :goodvibes

Ohana is one of my faves for the food, variety of the food, the theming and the fact it is in my fave resort the Poly.. Its also a traditional first night in WDW dinner..
