Currently, I have an ADR at Ohana for brkfst and I've been checking constantly if something opens up for dinner. I know there's no characters at dinner but the food looks good and it sounds fun. So the first part of my question is do I have any chance of getting an ADR for dinner for late August? And second part: is breakfast as enjoyable as dinner? Should I just keep the bkfst ADR? Right now 5 out of our 7 TS meals are dinner and 2 are bkfst (Ohana and Tusker). What are your thoughts?

I have had very good luck with getting O'hana reservations last minute. I just checked the disney dining website multiple times per day - sometimes you will luck up on a canceled ADR. Since you have several months left, with some diligence, one should pop up. O'hana dinner is much better than O'hana breakfast - you can't even really compare the two, they are so different. My boys still enjoy the character breakfast there, but dinner at O'hana is a must-do for my family on every trip.

can't answer part two but with reference to the meals we have done both.

Breakfast is amazing - the character interaction is great (stitch is very naughty). The welcome breads are scrummy - one pineapple and coconut the other fruity (more like a danish or sally lunn if you have them in USA )

The cooked breakfast and fruit are plentiful, the juice is the same as the one served in Boma which is my son's favourite and the coffee is always good.

The view from the restaurant over to the MK is great too.

Dinner is nice but once was enough for us although we would go again. The salad is ok, meats tend to be very well cooked and therefore quite dry (think bbq). The dessert is amazing though.

when we went to dinner was a long time back in 2007 and there was a singer with a ukelele and also the kids ran coconut races so it was quite loud.

I just made a ressie for Ohana for dinner the last week of August for 9:40PM seems like every day between 8/21-8/26 only had LATE dinners available.

I also think breakfast is much better than dinner. We don't really like dinner, so you really need to make that judgment for yourself.

I've never been to either, but everyone has such great things to say that I just booked a dinner ressie for us for our July trip with no problems. It is one of our off days (no parks) so we were planning to look at other resorts anyway. I'm excited to have a 6:40 ADR! WAHOO!

Yes, I saw that time available but that is very late with 2 kids 10 and 3.
There's also an opening at 8:20pm on our last day but we will be heading to an airport hotel that night for our flight the next day so that will be difficult as well.

I guess I will just keep trying.

I agree...couldn't get several things prior to my trip and was able to get them all during my trip by checking during the day while we were there.

The breakfast at Ohana is great, as is the dinner!!
