Oh Yeah, V's At It Again! A May 2007 Pre-Trip Report

I am cracking up over here...I am sitting here this morning trying to figure out what my next pre-trip installment should be about and i thought- shopping! I too have spent a decent chunk of change with 2 months waiting until we go to DL...LOL. Darn that lovable mouse! PS AWESOME shoe collection!!!!! But where is the haircut pic????

Seems we all have those “must-buy” items to pick up before our pilgrimage to The Mouse, and I’m no exception.

Isn't everything a "must-buy"?? :lmao:

No, I’m talking gifts for my fellow travelers. I already mentioned wanting to do something special in recognition of B’s first trip to The World. I put together a gift bag with all a one year old needs to properly experience WDW:

Cute! :thumbsup2

I couldn’t very well leave Leo out, now could I? He’ll also receive a 2007 official name badge and a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Tshirt. And, while I was at it, I had a tiki Minnie Tshirt made for me, too.

Since we’ll be celebrating Leo’s birthday at WDW, I went about getting some gifts for that, too: Little Einstein’s CD and Tshirt, Hot Wheels watch, Toy Story video game, two books and a tube-o-pirates.

Of course not! Cute tees! :teeth:

Carrie Bradshaw is my hero.
OMG!!! You do have a shoe thing!! I just knew we'd have so much in common!!! Carrie Bradshaw is my hero too!! Who else could pull off navy hot pants & banana yellow Manolos?? :confused3

I left with a pair for B.
And. A pair of Niles. And a pair of Mary Janes.
For me.
They were sooo cute, I just couldn’t resist. And I rationalized it like this: flips really aren’t very good for my feet, so I’ll wear these Crocs all summer instead! The Crocs store lady helped with that thought process. TFI.
Oohhh!! I just bought Maddie a pair of purple Mary Janes and Evan a pair of Navy Scutes. I'm considering another pair for myself.:rolleyes1

Bags. You read that right – bags. Plural. Because my Baggallini from last September is the pits. No good at all when I have to hyperextend my shoulders to get it on and off for each ride.
So are you ebaying that Baggallini? :surfweb:

That is IT – I’m finished with pre-trip spending. Let’s see whose pockets I’ve lined and by how much, all in the name of Mickey:

If it's in the name of Mickey, then it's all good! Fo shizzle, gurl! ;)

Okay...V...I don't feel so bad now!!!

I even had to budget my pre-spending spending!!!

Wait a minute. Shoe picture on the right...

Lower right hand corner...

RED CHUCKS!!!!

And you said you had no comfy shoes for WDW? I'm a die hard flopper, but if I have to have my heels enclosed, nothing beats Chuck Taylors. HECK, I still have a pair from college that are finally starting to wear out (and I'm too long out of college:rolleyes1 )

LOVE the bag for B. That was really sweet.

I just started browsing thru your report and got hooked on the whole hair question.................and now I want to know what you decided! I made the decision to get mine cut (also very curly) last week so it would be off of my neck and now I look like bozo the clown.

Thanks much for the picture of the shoes. DH now says he will no longer give me "the look" when i want to look at/but a pair of shoes:lmao: :thumbsup2

Lovin' your Pre-TR !!

Thanks for reminding me that I need to get MY new Crocs here soon too.....before I can't get the one's I want.

Here they all are, in their glory:
461433787_e473690300.jpg

i have the exact same pair of brown mary jane crocs! i love them....they're so cute. but have you wore them at all since you got them? let me tell you....they're not quite as comfortable as the regular (beach/caymen) ones. i did a little research on this and i think it's because they have no orthotic foot bed like the other ones. so i'm still taking them with me to WDW, but i'm gonna wear them on our AK day b/c i know i'll be going back to the hotel room before dinner to change and i won't have to walk around in them for 12 consecutive hours....more like just 8! just thought i'd warn you! ;)

Thanks for the shopping report V.......... :lmao: Good Stuff!!!!

I have the brown Mary Jane crocs too & I lurv mine. I am a nurse & now exclusively wear crocs to work & I have found my MJ's to be quiet comfortable. They will never take the place of my Disney crocs, but they are cute too!!!!

When do you leave?????????

Just can't seem to outgrow those chubby Italian cheeks. :sad2:

OMG! I know exactly what you're talking about! I have those same Italian cheeks! :lmao: You gotta love it!

As for the haircut.....I just went through the stage (again) of trying to let it grow. :scared1: As of this past Friday...liberation, I cut it!!!! Now I can get ready to face the world in the morning without having a fit over the hair. :cloud9: Run my fingers through with a little hairgel & I'm ready!:woohoo: My husband even admitted he likes it! That's huge since he always thinks I should let it grow!

Shoes.....I love shoes! :goodvibes Having a bad day??? Shop for shoes!;)

I'm baaaack!!! Hi honey!!! :wave2:

Man, I take one little week off and look how much I've missed!!

Where to begin, where to begin??:confused3

First of all - LOVE the haircut!! Mine is about that same length now and I've been STRESSING about what to do with it with the humidity and FREAKING OUT about what to do with it in August! Yep. Me too.

I tend to look like a french poodle if I don't dry my hair and when I do dry it, the humidity makes me a giant frizz-head. I've been getting it straightened for the last several years - BIG HUGE CHI fan here. Yes, I admit that the good folks at CHI have gotten more money out of me in the last 5 years than Mickey Mouse has.:sad2: Totally worth it though, totally worth it. Well, I'm going on a year and a half since my last straightening and my "new growth" is curling like mad, while the ends are staying straight...not pretty my friend...So I cut it all off. Ok, not all of it, but every last straight piece of hair is gone...I'm jealous that you can use an iron that isn't CHI. I bought one and it was literally burning my hair!:scared1: The other 5 didn't straighten it a bit. So I took the plunge about a year ago and bought the CHI iron before I moved here and it's DA BOMB! Works great. Not a fan of the CHI hair dryers though...at nearly $200 they don't last more than 6 months or so...been thru 3 and finally gave up on those.

OMG - have I gotten off track here! Where was I? LOVE the hair...wanna see it curly too. And I'm freaking out about what to do with water rides and pools in August :sad2: . Hmmmm....what to do, what to do?:confused3 I read a lot of comments about how people don't do much with hair/makeup on vacation....but I just can't be like that. I don't put on my full "game face", but hey - pictures last a lifetime, right? And what if Mario and I run into each other again???? I can't scare the man off, right?? So there will be makeup. And hair. Besides...Photo Pass is everywhere my friend...:lmao:

Ok, so now that my hair rant has gotten outta control, I'll focus on your pre-trip shopping!! LOVE IT BAYYYBY!!!

Loved the pictures of the shoes! Too funny. Sadly, my closet doesn't look like that...:sad2: I have (GASP) one pair of "shoes" for work. Yep. Just one. And they're work boots. Dirty, beat up, dried-mud work boots.

I've been working in the construction field since I was 16 with summer jobs so I never did get into the girly-girl shoes...I know, what a loser I am, huh? Although it makes getting dressed in the morning easy. I know what shoes I'll wear and my toughest choice is what pair of jeans to wear that day.:confused3 I have been considering buying crocs though since everyone says they're so comfy...

Really enjoyed your breakdown of what you bought and totally agree with you on the Baggalini...not a big fan of mine either. I love the features...all the pockets, etc...but I swear the thing kills my back. :sad2: I figure I'll just use my mini-backpack again and load up the DH with the big backpack like a pack mule. There! Problem solved.

Ok, ok...enough of my senseless ramblings...something tells me I've had enough coffee already. Been up since 3:30...UGH...WHY???? Going to catch up on Tracy's pre-trip now...then Jo's....OH THAT's RIGHT...JO HASN'T STARTED ONE YET!!! Hint hint Jo...LOVE YOU, Mean it!!

Good to be back...can't believe how many pages I've had to catch up on! Can't believe I haven't gotten my pre-trip even started yet. :sad2: I've got a lot of work to do! Maybe I should take a couple of vacation days to catch up on my Dis'ing!

See ya later Alligator!!!

 Yay LL's back  We've all missed you and your witty comments, what were you doing up at 3.30am you mad woman, next time if you see my little green light on PM me :thumbsup2 Oh and pre trippie I promise I'll get one started before 13th August :rotfl2:

OMG V how much shopping have you done...
WAAAY too much! :rotfl:

I know I've asked this before but are crocs really that comfy, flame away but I really don't like the look of the classic (?) ones but the mary janes look cute, do they stay on your feet well?
Yep, yep and yep! Honest - I won't wear anything else if I'll be walking a lot. I wear them grocery shopping, to the mall, around teh park... BUT I have really low arches. I don't know if that makes a difference, but I always do better in shoes that have less support, which makes me wonder if Crocs are any good for those who need more support. :confused3
I LOVE the Mary Janes!!! i really want some for the summer.... maybe Mother's Day... I need to start dropping hints...:rolleyes1
They're super cute on, too! I was afraid I'd look like a 30something trying to be a teen-something, but no - they look great on:thumbsup2
I LOVE the Vera Bradley bag -- after I finish with Talbots, I'll need to hunt this puppy down!
I can help with that: click here. Now, these aren't the REAL vera Bradley's, but I liked this mini-backpack better.[/QUOTE]
It looks to me like you've actually printed on your LGMHPCs - would you mind sharing HOW you do this?
Not at all.... but it requires a confession... some aren't the actual LGMHPC's from Home Depot. I printed direct onto some lime green cardstock, cut out the LGMH's, then laminated them for my PrincessV LGMHs. The real MGMHPCs, I printed onto clear return address labels and stuck them on the paint chips :thumbsup2

ok V, I want to see too!!Pretty please tell us about it and a pic would be good also. After all I do need to see who I am looking for in 13 DAYS!!
I promise a pic will be forthcoming! And it really was a good call - I LOOOVE my hair!

See, we really are all in the same boat!
OMG!!! You do have a shoe thing!! I just knew we'd have so much in common!!! Carrie Bradshaw is my hero too!! Who else could pull off navy hot pants & banana yellow Manolos?? :confused3
:cool1: Or those pink fuzzy ones she wore for her "last" night with Big before he left for CA?
Oohhh!! I just bought Maddie a pair of purple Mary Janes and Evan a pair of Navy Scutes. I'm considering another pair for myself.:rolleyes1
Maybe we need to start a chapter of CA - Crocs Anonymous? :rotfl:
So are you ebaying that Baggallini? :surfweb:
GREAT idea! :thumbsup2

Okay...V...I don't feel so bad now!!!

I even had to budget my pre-spending spending!!!
I know - it got pretty out of hand this time, I admit. My saving grace is that I buy very little AT WDW, so this is the bulk of it. ;)
Wait a minute. Shoe picture on the right...

RED CHUCKS!!!!

Woo hoo, another Chuck-lover! :cool2: Aren't they the best sneaker on earth? Only, I can't walk far in them. The sizing is weird and the size that stays on my foot pinches my toes if I do much walking, but the next size up leaves my heel flopping around. So they're reserved for boppin' around town in cool weather.
Hey, did you happen to see the movie Marie Antoinette? Blue Chuck Taylors amidst her shoe collection! Check it out. Loooved that movie...

Oh no!!! Listen, it's all about the CHI or generic CHI flat iron :thumbsup2 I did chop it, and am having a hard time getting it to curl now. But I also just colored it, which always pulls the curl out for a few days.
Thanks much for the picture of the shoes. DH now says he will no longer give me "the look" when i want to look at/but a pair of shoes:lmao: :thumbsup2
Glad to be of service! :rotfl:
Lovin' your Pre-TR !!
Thanks so much!
i have the exact same pair of brown mary jane crocs! i love them....they're so cute. but have you wore them at all since you got them?
Yep, and, strangely, they've been even MORE comfy than my lime Beaches. I seem to do better with less support - the Cayman's just about killed my feet. Which is why my mother now has the red and orange pairs I bought last year. :rolleyes1
Ooooo, I love the brown Mary Jane Crocs! Those are cute!!
Aren't they? I figured brown would go with more of my non-DISing wardrobe.
I have the brown Mary Jane crocs too & I lurv mine. I am a nurse & now exclusively wear crocs to work & I have found my MJ's to be quiet comfortable.
Gramma's a nurse, too, and exclusively wear Crocs now!

:woohoo: Isnt' it the best feeling when you get just the right cut?

I'm baaaack!!! Hi honey!!! :wave2:
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!

Man, I take one little week off and look how much I've missed!!
I know - I tried to hold back, but my brain got full and I had to dump, which meant mroe posts. I knew you'd catch up eventually! :surfweb:

First of all - LOVE the haircut!!
Thansk! Its' about 2 inches shorter now.

Okay, I've got suggestions for you:
1. John Frieda Curling Mousse. nothing works better for me. Straight out of the shower, scrunch wet hair with towel, get the mousse in there, scrunch some more, then DON'T TOUCH till dry! :thumbsup2
2. In addition to my generic CHI, I got an awesome new blow dryer at Sally: Ion Anti-Frizz Straightening Ionic-Ceramic Tourmaline Dryer. My good freind who's a stylist uses this - she likes it better than the famous T3 dryer!

Loved the pictures of the shoes! Too funny. Sadly, my closet doesn't look like that...:sad2: I have (GASP) one pair of "shoes" for work. Yep. Just one. And they're work boots. Dirty, beat up, dried-mud work boots.
But think of the money you've saved over the years - money that could buy, oh, say, 21 Lapu Lapus!!:dance3:

I have been considering buying crocs though since everyone says they're so comfy...
:thumbsup2
Going to catch up on Tracy's pre-trip now...then Jo's....OH THAT's RIGHT...JO HASN'T STARTED ONE YET!!! Hint hint Jo...LOVE YOU, Mean it!!

Good to be back
Good to have you back

Haven't seen it, BUT Bow Wow Wow and OMD?!?!? I'm sold on the soundtrack already. I'm showing my age, aren't I? But I am, indeed, a Chuck devotee.

And I noticed how you snuck in that you cut 2 inches off your hair. Photo, please!

Hi sweetie!!! :wave2: I didn't see your light on this morning, but maybe I wasn't quite "aware" as I usually look for you. I can always count on chatting with you at the crack of dawn!

I don't even know WHAT in the world I was doing up, but I was pretty excited - it was quiet...I made some coffee, fired up the laptop, started yesterday's episode of General Hospital and settled in...for about 10 minutes until DH woke up, took over the TV to watch the news and there went my "quality time":sad2:

He wonders why I don't get up early anymore...Uhhhh....let me think...Cause YOU'RE up early now!!! :headache:

Anywhooooo...I'm back baby and sooooo glad to be "home" with my friends!! :grouphug:

Thansk! Its' about 2 inches shorter now.

OOOH...I can't wait to see!!! :thumbsup2
