Here's the scoop. I'm a regular Disser. By that I mean, I typically suffer from the same "over planning, over researching, over obsessive" illness that most Dissers suffer from.
That said, when it comes to Disney, I'm confident in the planning I do for my family. I buy my ponchos at the dollar store, I get up at 5:30 on ADR day(notice I didn't even need to tell you why
), I know what fastpass and photopass are etc...
We are a family of 5. My kids are 8, 8, and 10. We take our Travel Trailer to Fort Wilderness. This is the only way we'd ever do Disney. Trapped in a hotel with my kids for days on end just isn't our idea of vacation.
That said, most people thoroughly enjoy Disney just that way. Resort and Dining plan all the way.
So, about a week ago, my SIL asks me if I'll just plan her Disney trip for her. She is a single mom to a DD5 and DS3. She's a pysical therapist and works long hours. And, she is decidedly NOT a planner. But, she's heard from several people that Disney without a plan and no information can make for a less than enjoyable vacation.
(aside: this is how bad it was "I really want to take the kids to Disnland in Florida this year. I've heard they have hotels right next to the park. Don't they have like three different amusement parks and a zoo? Are there any good places to eat? I was thinking of going Thankgiving week because I figured it would be dead since people will be spending Thanksgiving with their families. I think we'll skip the educational big ball park (epcot) because I don't think there is anything for kids there." yeah... I know, I know... that's what I thought too!
)
After numerous phone calls explaining options etc... this is how it stands:
