Oh, transpo board, how I've missed you! (and low car rates!)

It's been almost a year since my last Disney trip and I just made a reservation for a trip in August for my son and me! So I'm digging back in to get my planning groove back on...and ouch, I see my year away hasn't seen any improvement in car rental rates!

You're way too early to see good rates for August. On my rentals from Orlando in Oct and again in Jan, I got super rates thru Alamo. Started out high and went down, down, down on each trip. But I did notice that in Jan, the rates spiked way up again about 2 weeks out. My 5 day rental in Jan with a midsize was $60 out the door.

I agree, but I still have NEVER seen rates this high EVER. We are going late May this year and I am usually able to get a decent deal with Alamo. BUT, Alamo is over $700. right now. I currently have a reservation with Budget that I can live with . . . if I have to.

That's where I am - a Budget reservation I can live with. 8 days, SUV, $300. (I'm going to be changing resorts if my waitlist doesn't come through...and DS hopes it doesn't because he wants to stay at both...will have Lockers to move, and I prefer to have my stuff with me vs being at the mercy of luggage delivery.)

We're going the 1st of June and I haven't even looked at rates yet. About 2-1/2 to 3 months in advance is when I start looking and playing the 'rental car rice game'
