OH The Horror! Scary Clowns, Haunted Houses, Scare Zones, Monsters, Pumpkins, Crooked Cats, Creepy Bears, Shopping, Dining and more….My HHN 34 Trip

Guess where we were going……to one of my favorite areas of this park. Diagon Alley.

Globus Mundai was closed today. I always like to stop in and look at their merchadise.
IMG_7046.jpeg

The signs and little shop fronts are so well done. It does make you feel truly immersed in this make believe land of Witches and Wizards.

Interestingly Arthur Weasley was in Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office on the second floor of The Ministry of Magic.

It was his job to make sure that muggle objects like Toasters, Tea Pots and Gloves etc……That had been charmed by Witches and Wizards did not get into the hands of Muggles and If they did he had to get the objects back.

After getting the objects back from the Muggles he had to wipe the section of the Muggles memory of having seen the Magic charmed objects perform.

I always like to stop in and have a quick chat with the bank Goblin. A lot of folks don’t know that the Goblin will talk to you. There was a family with two little ones that came in after I did and When they saw the Goblin responding to me the little ones had the best time talking to it.

IMG_7059.jpeg

I always like to stop in at Madame Malkin’s Robe shop. There are some nice displays there and of course you have to walk by the magical mirror to see what kind of response you will get on the clothing you are wearing.
IMG_7060.jpeg

I love these old Witches shoes.
IMG_7061.jpeg

Diagon Alley was pretty much crowded when we decided to leave. We passed by Transformers and turned right.
IMG_7064.jpeg

We saw that the Blues Brothers Show was getting ready to start and we decided to walk down and have a look. This lady singer was awesome. It was hard not to get into a little dance listening to her.
IMG_7067.jpeg

Then the fellas showed up and the party started.
IMG_7068.jpeg

I hope Universal never gets rid of this show it is so good.
IMG_7069.jpeg

IMG_7070.jpeg

After we were done listening for awhile we turned and decided to see if any of the food booths were opening yet. I looked down the street and there was still a loop of RRR left, but I knew it would be gone soon.

I had taken a picture of these food booths a few days before and It had just opened when we were starting to walk by.

So we decided to share some things and see how the food tasted.

IMG_5954.jpeg

The Freakishly Long Corn Dog.

The corn dog had a very thin layer of whatever batter it was that was on it. It did not taste like a corn dog batter. The hot dog underneath was very greasy. The jalapeño ranch and bacon on top were good. I would not purchase this again.
IMG_7076.jpeg

The Death by Cheesestick was very good with nice freshly prepared cheese pull. I’am thinking since the booth had just opened we were lucky enough everything was just prepared. So nothing had been sitting around under the heat lamp.

I will tell you there was a line forming behind us so I did not get the impression that food would be hanging in the warming plates very long here.

The marinara sauce was good also.
IMG_7077.jpeg

This booth had just opened (again I had taken photos of the booths before) and we bought the Twisted chips with the spicy cheese. This was supposed to take the place of the Twisted Taters this year.

There were two toppings to choose from.
IMG_5955.jpeg

I had suspected when you fry really thin potatoes in the fryer some will be crispy and some a bit soggy and that was what we got.

You can see the grease in the paper cone. There was a spicy cheese coating they had been tossed in. The crispy ones were good the others not so good.

The cheese coating was spicy with a little kick of heat. We tried a few of them and got rid of the rest.

Bring the twisted tater back.

After we were done sampling the food we were ready to leave the park. We had been in the heat long enough today.

We walked through the big Universal Store on the way out. It is always nice to get a little cool off in the AC as you walk through the store.

Remember I said they were continually adding new merchandise. I had not seen this Gargoyle key holder is what I will call it. It was the size of a small plate. Not something you could put food in or hang on the wall. I would imagine it is something you would add to you Halloween decorations on a table. I guess you could put wrapped candies in it.
IMG_7080.jpeg

Here was the FNAF backpack.
IMG_7083.jpeg

They had added another photo OP back drop in the store for FNAF.
IMG_7084.jpeg

I had not seen these clip on fans for sale for strollers in the stores before. Nice option as there are lots of folks walking around with babies in strollers in the park at times and these would be a lot of help in keeping the little ones cooler.
IMG_7086.jpeg

After we were done walking through the store we headed out for the park for the water taxi.

We had a little wait for the boat as the one had just taken off.

Once the water taxi arrived it was nice to be heading back to the resort.

We got back to the room and took turns in the shower and I was ready to rest for a little while.

Later we did go down for a light dinner.

We watched some TV called our hubby’s and it was time for sleep.

Wednesday, September 17th

Woke up this morning about 8:45 am I was getting the hang of this vacation morning sleeping.

I got up and took my shower and dressed and I was ready for the our last full day at Universal.

My sister and I went down to the Club Lounge for a light breakfast and decided we would get out and get some exercise walking through IOA today.

After breakfast off we went to the water taxi. One had just pulled up and there was hardly anyone in line to head over to Citywalk.

So after a quick loading of the few of us off we went.

Wanted to insert the fact that we had not ridden the Hogwarts Express this trip because it was down for maintenance….BOO…..

After getting off the Water Taxi we headed to IOA.

We stopped on the bridge and took a photo of Toothsome.

My sister said she had not been in there in a long time and neither had I so we decided we would walk over and look around the shop.
IMG_7089.jpeg

They did have the Margaritaville plane back in its place after some needed facelift work.
IMG_7090.jpeg

I stopped to take a picture of the Lighthouse once across the bridge and then we turned right and headed to Toothsome to look around.
IMG_7091.jpeg

The theming in there is Steampunk which you can pick up on by the exterior of the building that has all the gears and and pipework.
IMG_7092.jpeg

They have a lot of desserts for sale in the shop.

I had never really paid attention to all the cookies they sale in the shop. I think they could give Gideon’s Bake Shop a run for their money.
