Oh no!!

At least they're better than those damn flies that bite ya! :sad2:

I will never forget our first trip to Disney in 1983. We had never even heard of lovebugs but it certainly did not take long to figure out what pests they were! They were everywhere! Our 4-year old went home that year and told everybody about the millions of "two-headed" bugs in Florida. ;)

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

We get them real bad at our house so for fun we break out the bug zapper tennis rackets and let the kids go wild!

That is one thing I do not miss about living in Florida!
Family - yes (well, most of the time)
Love bugs - NO!!!!!

Well, I'm in Lake County and I still haven't seen a lovebug this month. Not at the house (our house is white, and they LOVE to congregate around it), not at work (in Orlando), and not on the car from traveling between the two. So they aren't everywhere yet. I'm still hoping they won't be too bad. I just keep remembering the September about four years ago where they were so thick you couldn't sit down outdoors anywhere without squashing a few dozen. I'm checking in at WDW on Tuesday, and I'd love to have a nearly lovebug free time.

Will you be able to post your site number?

Most certainly! Will you be able to visit? If not, I will search every bus until I find you! :thumbsup2

pssst... I have kungaloosh supplies and a blender and I'm not afraid to use them!

Well I guess it's time to go buy a box of dryer sheets to clean them off before we leave out.

Okay, so stupid question...

I've never dealt with them before.

We're tent camping the first week of October. Any suggestions as for something I need to do?

Do they bite or are they just an annoyance?

They're simply annoying... and if left on painted surfaces, may damage them. And yes, there's something in those fabric softener sheets that you toss in the dryer that really work well.... and the cheapest ones work the best for me - you know the ones, they look like pressed spider webs or something??? Just grab about 3 of them, scrunch them up, dampen them, and start rubbing those bugs off... they just slide off! Rinse and you're good to go. I pick up a box at the Dollar Tree and leave them under my kitchen sink.... always smells nice in there!

They're here, but a very light batch this year...so far.

For those wondering what's so bad about them... Love bugs emerge usually in May and then again in August. They don't "do" anything but fly around and mate. I don't think they have any other purpose. Some years they are so thick that we have to wash the cars every day. If you don't, there is something in their guts that is like pure acid to auto paint. The front end of your vehicle will be ruined in no time.

They don't bite or buzz or do anything annoying like other bugs. They are just there. Usually LOTS of them are just there. So far, I've seen very few & hopefully it will stay that way if we're lucky.

I tried the fabric softener thing last year, and it did work great -- but the bees apparently love the stuff. I had them all buzzing around me in seconds! :scared1:
