Oh no...

Precisely what I was about to post. We had several hamsters when the girls were young and it's always a shock when you discover them like that. They do have such a short life-span. Hope your clan quickly come to terms with the "circle of life" when you break the news in the morning.

Thank you :goodvibes Zack has had a good innings compared to the earlier hamsters.

Sad news Reid

That's so sad Reid. Like you say though better now than when you're away. At least the troops have 2 weeks at DLP to look forward to. We've lost 3 hamsters as they do seem to have a short life span and it's sad to lose them. Now DD is older we are sticking with our cats!

Sorry to hear that Reid, I hope the troops take the news ok:hug:

sorry to hear about your hamster. Hope the troops take the news ok this morning, as you say its better that it happened before you went away.

Well we didn't need to be too concerned. DD6 danced around the house saying Zack's gone to heaven and has picked out a new hamster from her last visit to the pet shop :rolleyes1
DS8 went on the wii and didn't notice the cage was missing. :surfweb:
DD10 bless her was the only one with a heart :lovestruc Though it was better that her little chum had not been looking after him. Thinks we should wait a while and not get a similar colour so that we better remember Zack rather than replace him :goodvibes

Kids.... you can never predict how its going to go, but I still think it was wise to wait until this morning. Sending DD 10 a  .

We lost our hamster a few weeks ago. Youngest DD was quite upset at first.

We had to bury the hamster in the garden and bought a small garden ornament (a mole!) to put on top of the grave.

DD has now got a new hamster :)

I suppose people deal with things in different ways.

My aunt and uncle use different plants to mark their animals graves- That way they're still living on in a way....:goodvibes

At least it didn't happen while you were away. Robert's brother (Josh, 18) had a lovely little hamster called Arthur. Robert's cousin, however, used to, admittedly love him, but scare the poor little bugger to death. They left it with this cousin, and poor Arthur died the first day they were away..... I still can't quite look at this cousin in the same way!!

the furry prawns are more pig like now and the fluff is thickening, mummys doing well and hasn't eaten any of them yet so i reckon they're safe now. they are wiggly little tikes though and dead cute when she's feeding them
