Well, after a 4-year hiatus, my almost 20-yo son has decided when he finishes his college semester in May, could we please, please go to Disney World - all new stuff - Everest, Shows, etc. that he hasn't seen, and wouldn't it be fun to go?

It's not as though he hasn't been invited - numerous times, in fact. He was always too busy, didn't want to go with the parents, etc. My husband and I just returned from a crazy week in March from there. We didn't realize that Spring Break would be NUTS!!

So do we want to return anytime soon - "NO"!!, but husband's resolve is weakening - would you go week of May 14 or week of June 4?? Just what I want to do - hot weather, screaming kids, yelling parents, crazy, long lines...

I'd choose week of May 14, just because most schools (not colleges) will still be in session. If you're not into going "commando" this time, tell your son that you'll meet up with him at the parks later in the day and let him explore on his own.

I'd say go in May, it'll just get hotter later. Consider yourself lucky for being able to go again so soon. I have to limit myself to one trip a year at most, (two every three years usually,) so I'd jump at the chance to go again. And enjoy the trip with your son, since from your post, it sounds like you haven't been able to visit with him in awhile. Also, welcome to the DIS Boards!

Sorry don't mean to sound ungrateful. I'm still recovering from our March 25th trip!! My husband and I have invited my kids numerous times, and every time the answer was no. Now he decides he wants to go - just after we get home from there. I think it's because of Everest and Star Wars Weekends....
We told him there would be no trip if he wasn't going to get up early every morning to do things - none of this sleeping until noon!! Why go - sleep at home for free

Don't feel obligated if you don't want to. He can always go by himself or with friends without putting you through all the stress.

That's true too! My favorite trip was the one I took solo. Also, I wasn't implying that you were ungrateful, I just can't imagine ever being worn out from a trip too passing down one.
