Oh no!!!! - Matterhorn Refurb??

I just read that the Matterhorn was down for refurbishment beginning on 7/1??? Does anyone know when this will be back up and running!!!!???

This is a very unusual summer refurb. And it will not open til Sept 1 unfortunately. I am very bummed for you.

I was upset to see this too! I may have only this one chance to DL as it is sooo expensive to fly to CA from NY.

I hear ya. Normally this would be totally taboo to do in the summer at DLR. However, I think it is related to the overall work they are doing on Matterhorn with the new bobsleds that have a lap bar. That will take Matterhorn down again in January for 6 months according to rumors. I think maybe they had to fit this in now or do it in the Fall on top of all the other refurbs and decided to bite the bullet and do it now.

Perhaps they got a push from Legal to get the new restraints up and running before the ride was shut down involuntarily...

A little disappointed in this refurb too. Just booked everything for third week in August. But there weren't many good choices. We could wait until late November (*that* long? Really?) and then everything would be open. We thought we'd go in late August rather than wait. It's not ideal but if my biggest complaint in life is that I have to go to DL in late August then I have very little to complain about

Seriously, I am going to watching that puppy like a hawk while we are there.

Oh yes I am hoping the same thing for Aug 9 thru the 14th. My kids have never been and my wife and I haven't been in 12 years.
