Please help me decide! Dbf and I want to do one really fancy shmancy meal and so far we've cut it down to those two. Both have menus that are oh-so-tempting and both are in locations that are considered desirable to us.

We've been to California Grill before but didn't order much, we were on a very tight budget and I was on a very limited low calorie/fat diet. So we didn't get the whole experience there. We've never been to Flying Fish.

Thank you! :hippie:

Tough choice for sure! Both are two of my favorite places.

You may want to check and see if they are doing fireworks at MK the night you are going, if so I'd pick CG.

CG is always packed and I've never been seated on time. FF has always been oposite for me, I've never seen it packed.

CG has amazing sushi, the most incredible pork and polenta and an awesome wine list.

FF has a great menu but no sushi. The wine list is good but not like CG. However I really enjoy the atmosphere and feel it is one of those "undiscovered" places as it is never packed for me.

Either way, you can't go wrong!

Since you've been to CG already, go for FF this time. Even with your limited prior experience at CG, there really isn't anything more to experience dining there except the chance to catch Wishes.

great, but I really want to go to Flying Fish and try the potato wrapped snapper.

Not much help there.

Tough choice, but I'd suggest Flying Fish since you've never been there. The space isn't as nice as California Grill....but the food is fantastic.

Thanks for all of the replies! Flying Fish sounds unanimous so far. The only reason I'm so hesitant is because of the sushi at California Grill!

Have dinner at Flying Fish - it's wonderful!

Later in your trip if you're still jonesin for sushi go over to Kimonos at the Swan - you can order by the piece and they have an amazing selection. :thumbsup2

California Grill is my favorite WDW restaurant. The sushi is the BEST I've ever had - they used fresh seaweed not dried nori sheets. Everything there was truly outstanding each time I've been there. If you can time it to see a sunset or Wishes, even better. I'd say that CG is the more outstanding experience of the two. Flying Fish is good, but if you have a decent seafood restaurant nearby, it's not as memorable or unique as CG in my opinion. I will be the odd one out and say California Grill. Doing CG low calorie is just not the same! ;)
