I am supposed to Fly out on Tuesday evening from Detroit to Orlando. I called Delta today and they said once a bullitin is issued you can rearrange your flights with out any fees. Has anyone done this? Is there a way to look online rather than calling. This is driving me nuts the thought of being stuck in an airport with my 3 and 5 year old much less my husband has me stressed a bit!!!

I've never done it on Delta only on Southwest.....I had to rearrange a flight for my daughter on Jan 12th....there you can check online but I did notice that the weather alert was issued hours after they were letting you rebook at no charge....
I'm not sure how the Delta website works...but on Southwest you can enter your flight information to change a flight.....I did that every hour or 2 on Monday when we knew the storm was coming Tuesday night into Wednesday...but no wather alerts were on the front page.....finally at around 1pm on Monday we could change her flight from Wed to Tues before at no fee.....but the alert on the front page didn't show up until around 4pm....at that point the flight i had rebooked her on was sold out

Maybe do both call & look at the website.....I'd research and know what flight/flights you'd like to move to and see how many seats are left on the flights

I did it on Delta last year. I was on a business trip to MSP and a storm was hitting the night I was to return home, I had a late flight arriving at PIT after 10:00pm. After they put out the alert, I called and had my flight changed to the next morning with no charge. I tried online and it wanted to charge me, so I called.

The online thing was a well-known glitch. I think it may have been fixed, so it will be worth trying as the phone lines will be jammed.

I have only had success calling to have things changed without a fee. The bulletin has been issued for the DTW area....possibly up to 12" of snow. I am NOT looking forward to this storm!!!

Does anyone know if airtran has this policy of not charging once a storm bulletin has been issued? Scheduled to fly out of Chicago Tuesday morning and I'm so nervous!!!

I was scheduled to fly on Airtran this AM, about 9AM. I was able to cancel completely late last night (or reschedule if I wanted to) and my full fare was added to my AirTran account for future use (rebooking, not necessarily flying), within one year.

Are you calling AirTran (with patience)/checking their website? It's pretty standard to allow passengers to cancel or reschedule with no penalty when the airline cancels the flight due to weather emergencies - any airline.

Were you heading to FL, Dan?

I'm worried too! We are supposed to fly out of Kansas City to MCO on Wednesday evening. The snow was supposed to be gone Tuesday AM but now they've moved it to start tonight and not end until Wednesday. Calling for 12-15". Yikes!:scared1: We are only scheduled to stay 5 days so leaving a day late will really limit our trip. Crossing fingers!

After Numerous phone calls I was finally able to switch to an earlier flight we leave at 2pm now. We are expecting 3-5 inches over night and a ton more late on Tuesday. This is our window if we don't get out now I am afraid it will be thursday or friday. Good luck to every one that is traveling this week.
