I'm so excited. DH says he needs to get away and can't wait another month for WDW so we're squeezing in a spontaneous weekend trip to DLR for one last of our APs before they expire May 7! I can't believe it! Oh I love my hubby so much right now!!!:banana::banana:

We already booked hotel (bid on priceline for all my DLR trips!) and we got Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort, May 1-3.

I can't even wrap my head around that we're going. I just had to tell someone who would care - because we all know our real world friends just roll their eyes when we even come close to mentioning Disney...:lmao:

We haven't been since early December so we're stoked to see Paradise Park and all the other rehabs. And food and wine...I don't even know where to begin planning...

Thanks for letting me take up a thread about nothing and get all that out. Love all you DISboarders!

Ooh, and it's Bats Weekend! You'll see lots of people dressed up in neat outfits!

Probably the only time of the year when the traditional Haunted Mansion is the most popular attraction in the park.;) Plan accordingly.

Wooooot!!
We are doing the same thing! last night, we also decided to book a last minute trip on the May 9th week! we should set up a quick Disney Meet!

PM me and maybe we can have a quick Disney visit :cheer2:

Yay for a spur of the moment trip. I'd love to do that, our APs are good until 5/11 ~ but I'd better save my $$ for DD's B~day trip in early July and our Thanksgiving trip. Have fun!

That's funny because that's the exact reason we are going as well. our AP expire in August, but we know it's going to be pretty busy with the summer break so we're going now before it expires on us.

Enjoy your trip!!

Oohh...how fun! I wish DBF would do a spontaneous trip with me, haha :lmao:

Just curious though, do you mind sharing your bidding strategies on Priceline? What other hotels have you won and what are the prices? I have three trips planned so far (5/29-6/1, 8/2-8/4 and 11/25-28) and I booked HoJo for all three trips. Other than the Memorial Day weekend trip, there are no AP/Entertainment Rates for the other days so I am considering through booking another place but don't want to end up with a hotel super far away :scared1:

Congrats to you two! I am sure you will have a magical time.
I love any trip to DL, so I understand. ;)

Noway! We always seem to pick the weekend with a theme! (We've hit gay days in WDW and DLR)

Totally understand! We haven't been in 2010 yet, and I know we won't be returning for awhile so thats how I'm justifying it! Haha!

True! Will be quite the sight, I'm sure. I'm such a people watcher!

Isn't it a great excuse? I knew I'd have to wait til after Jan-Mar to go (because of DH's job, we can't go anywhere until March is over) and now its like, whoops, where did the time go?!

I use this website: www . better bidding . com. It has a lot of great advice. What I do is start in the Disneyland-Anaheim area. I bid a 3.5 star hotel and bid around $40-45/night depending on recent wins displayed on the better bidding forums. If I don't get that, I add 3 star hotels for the same area and increase my bid $1. If I don't get that, I have to wait 24 hours and repeat the process (priceline policy). Since the zones were recently reconfigured, I've received Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort (on Manchester) both times. Through the old zones, I've gotten the Marriot Anaheim Suites 3.5 star(Harbor and Chapman). Better bidding also has a list of the hotels in each area (Anaheim and Garden Grove). IMO, Anaheim area is a much better selection.

I have checked out betterbidding.com before but never made a bid because I was too comfortable with HoJo, lol. Anyway, thank you for the reply. I think I'll check it out for our August and November trips :goodvibes
