OH MY!! Is everything really booked for 2/2 - 2/9?

I already have a reservation for Feb. 2 but was checking the website to see if anything new was available. NOTHING comes up as being available except Saratoga Springs. Is it really going to be that crowded that week???????? Anyone know what the big attraction is? I know it's Mardi Gras but it's not President's Week. Thanks for any info and updates.

The WDW website is notoriously inaccurate for availability. If you want to know actual resorts available, you should call CRO.

I'm trying to get a last minute Mardi Gras trip planned myself and based on what I've encountered so far, it will be crowded...surprising considering how early MG falls this year.

I've had no luck renting BCV points b/c everything is booked and just got off the phone w/ Swan & Dolphin...they are 100% sold out due to some convention. She said those dates have been sold out for months....

I thought the same thing when I checked the website. But then I checked resorts day by day, and almost every resort had availability (mods and Deluxe). The problem was there wasn't 7 consecutive nights in the same room category (ie standard 3 nights, then water view, then garden view, etc). So I don't think the resorts are as sold out as they appear. I do know there is a convention and dance competition at the end of the week, but that shouldn't affect crowds. I still think it is going to be very slow.

...just got off the phone with WDW and the only options in moderate were SSR and FW...Swan and Dolphin had openings starting on the 6th but we need 3-8...I was able to get a room at Hotel Royal Plaza in DD for $127/night (Mousesavers.com rate) but I'm waiting to book until I've exhausted all Disney resorts - I really want those EMH hours which HRP can't give me

I hope WDW isn't that busy the first week of Feb. b/c that is when we are going...

We are also going the week of 2/3-10 (sun to sun) and currently have one room at the Pop for our family of 5- 2 adults, twins 8, and little one 2. I have been calling almost every day to see if we can get a connecting room- or at this point even ANY additional room at Pop during that time and there is nothing at all! I shouldv'e booked the second room when we originally booked the trip. Live and learn.

I also tried to rearrange some of our ADRs for the week and there is NOTHING there either- everything is booked solid! At least for a party of 5 during dinner times.

All of this is starting to make me more than a little nervous regarding the crowd level during this week. I thought it would be nice and quiet. The crowd calculator thingy says it's only in the 5 and 6's on levels. I dunno- I think it might be waaaaaaay busier than that.

Besides Mardi Gras, are there some other conventions or things going on that week?

I also tried to get anything for ADR for 3 people for character or even some of the restaurants at the deluxe resorts and nothing was available. I did get lucky though and was able to book the Hoopie Doo Revue one night with a table right in front of the stage. I guess I was lucky, someone had to have cancelled and I called at the right time. I guess that is the only meal we will have in a "restaurant". When I called the dining phone # the gentleman told me to go to some of the places you would like to eat as a "walk up". He said lots of times people book ADRs and then don't show up. Who knows, maybe that would be worth a try.

Yikes , we're going the 01/31 thru 02/04, and I've only made ressies for the Wonderland Tea Party for our twins. (I lost my voice, literally can't talk...so couldn't call to make ressies yesterday or today).

We were there at that time last year, and the parks weren't crowded. There were a few conventions going on that had a few hotels booked, and the cheerleaders were there, causing full resorts at the values.

Oh, I so hope that they're not going to be that booked! That will definately mean we won't do Deluxe Dining Plan! I call to do the ADRs before I call Member Services for the dining plan add on.

It seems like there are tons of cheer & dance groups going, and they fill up the hotels. But others have posted here that they noticed no issues in the parks even with that stuff going on.

I can't say, this is our first family trip there and we'll be there that week as well. Praying for small crowds!!

I didn't know MG was an issue for this time period! We just returned from a stay at the WL and wanted to go back for a one-nighter around the first of Feb.
