ok..I received a PIN code for 35% of value or moderate 40% off deluxe.certain dates and must book by 2/28..my questions are can i book a package with this discount or do i have to do room only?? Next, Can i do this online and add the PIN and save it til im sure that i want to book or will i lose my pin code once i put it in if i dont book??? TIA

It is a room only PIN code, no packages (though they will ask if you want to buy tickets).

You can use the PIN code link as many times as you want to check on prices online before deciding what you want to reserve. (It took me a good two weeks to figure out what I wanted and checked many times).

Got the same pin:banana:. Booked a trip at Pop May and one for Nov:worship: Tina

Pin reads room only offer. So I went to the web site. It allows you to purchase tickets but not the dinning plan. If you really want the dinning plan I would wait till you check in and see if it can be added or just call before and ask. Remember the discount is only for the room no matter what you purchase.:yay:

Dining cannot be added to Room Only reservations (except an AP discount rate).
If you want a Dining Plan, you'll have to hope for a new pin code or general discount on a package to come out.

And you can never add dining at check-in. It must be purchased 72 hours or more before your trip (and you have to have a package that includes tickets to add it).

I received a snail mail card with the PIN code you are talking about, I believe. I booked it online for the discount on the ROOM (40% off Deluxe). I then had the option to add tickets and a dining plan. The tickets and dining plan were full-price, and the discount did not apply to them. I booked everything as a package. Before I added tix and dining, the website read "Room Only Pinned Offer." As soon as I selected the tix, it said "Magic Your Way Pinned Offer", and when I added the Disney Dining Plan, it said "Magic Your Way Plus Dining Pinned Offer." So unless a code SPECIFIES that it must be used for a Room Only Reservation, you may apply it to the ROOM portion of a package. Packages and Room Only are handled differently as far as deposit and cancellation, hence the necessary distinction.

If you cannot add the tix and dining to make a package online for some reason, you can always call to talk to a CM to learn the terms of your PIN code discount. Happy planning!!

Yep yep..i went ahead and tried it and it gave me the room discount and let me add tickets and dining plan at regular price...Savings was 198 dollars off value resort for us. I wonder if i go ahead and book and free dining is offered later for the dates we choose could i switch to that after the fact.

This is the second year I have used a room only Pin and then I add tickets and the dining plan, still save a bunch of money!

If you don't mind could you tell us what the subject of the email was where you got the PIN?

Yes you can add dining. You can add tickets too. The DISCOUNT only applies to the room.

Yes, you can switch to the free dining code if it becomes available for your dates.

Disclaimer:
1- you can only use one promo code so if you are able to switch to free dining, you will lose the room discount and pay rack rate for the room. Check to see which discount would save you more money.
2- free dining is usually limited and the number of rooms available for the promotion vary from resort to resort. You will not be guaranteed a "free dining" promo room just because you already have a reservation. That being said, I've always kept my eyes and ears open and called to have my reservation switched as. soon. as I heard about free dining opening up. I've never had a problem switching to free dining.

You can add dining to a pin offer as long as you add tickets at the same time. The dining option pulls up, the moment you add your tickets. You pay full price on the tickets and dining but get the nice discount off the room. Depending on where you are staying and how many days hit you with the pin offer (I only got 3 of 7), the room only discount can be greater than free dining. If you have an annual pass, you should be able to add dining to your pin by booking your trip through the AP line.

I received the same PIN promo and am seriously considering it for our first trip to WDW. We are a family of 4 (2adults, 2kids under 10) thinking of staying at a deluxe resort for a 7 day trip. Would the 40% room discount PIN be better than a Free Dining plan for our situation, generally speaking?

Also, b/c the offer specifies certain dates (e.g. 10/23 - 10/29)...could we still get the 40% off room discount offer if we wanted to arrive a day earlier on 10/22??

Don't quote me on this, but I've heard that if you were to get one annual pass, and applied an annual pass discount to your room, that could also save you money, especially since you would be staying at a deluxe. But the 40% off should be better than free dining if all of your days fall within the specified dates. Which leads to your second question. Yes, you can book outside of the specified dates. The dates that fall outside of what they offer would be booked at rack rate.

If you go online and check out the various resorts using the pin, it will give you a daily breakdown of the resort cost, and you will see 10/22 at full rack rate followed by 10/23 to 10/29 at the discounted rate.

We have WL booked in Sept. for 2 adults and 2 kids under 10 and when I ran the numbers, the pin code discount worked out to be cheaper than free dining. From what I've read, value resort it's better to get free dining, deluxe it's better to use 40% pin code, moderate is pretty much a wash.

If you want to arrive 10/22, you will have to do two separate reservations for the room. 10/22 will be the full price rate and the rest will be the discounted rate. If you arrived on 10/23 and stayed past 10/29, you could have one reservation and still get the pin code rate for the days following (up to 15 days past 10/29).
