Oh my god....

Disney World is the size of RHODE ISLAND and it is the largest singularly placed employer in the world. Of course accidents are goign to happen and people will get hurt and die. I'm honestly surprised that thats ALL who's died.

I'll admit, that for someone who like me, who just doesn't like Splash Mountain (I like most of it, but not the drop), those emergency stairs all throughout the ride would probably be the most dangerous thing for me.
Several times I've contemplated just getting out of the boat. But I knew better, and well, you know now I'd know that I'd get hit by another boat or something.

Okay, I'm sorry, but how on earth can you manage to die on the people mover? Seriously! It goes all of 1 mile an hour!

Insensitive moment over...

But yeah, those are pretty bad, but most Disney couldn't help. Some of the lawsuits were just stupid.

I believe that in the People Mover case, they were going into a faster part of it? As this attraction in Disneyland no longer exists, I couldn't say exactly whether it sped up or not in the Superspeed Tunnel.

the majority of those were the persons fault
and if not, a lot were undiagnosed heart conditions
or course there will be the odd mishap no one could comprehend

but it happens everywhere, even in the happiest places on earth

edit: this one made me laugh at the last line
In 1976, a woman filed a lawsuit claiming one of the Three Little Pigs ran up to her at the "it's a small world" attraction, grabbed at and fondled her, while exclaiming "Mommy! Mommy!" She claimed to have somehow gained 50 pounds as a result of the incident, and sued Disney

Some of these things might have happened. But I wouldn't believe anything that I see on Wikipedia. Anyone can go in, and change anything on Wikipedia, its opened for the public to change anything on that site. Just thought i would say that. :)

I agree with a lot of people here, most of them were freak accidents, or teh fault of someone being stupid and breaking the rules.
For such a HUGE attraction, this amount of injuries is relatively small.

I thought it was the opposite.

Seriously?

i guarentee there was atleast 8 times more injuries then what was reported there. Usualy thee rule when reading somthing like thaat is times it by 8 and u have the real number, but since if read various other reports on other websites im sure the is many more then ehat happened.

Oh please.

If a person hurts there back on dinosaur badly and barely make it outside and collapses on a bench (like my dad did once) who do those people call? A park employee who contacts in park paremedics to check the person out. Then from there normaly a manger usualy approaches the person and asks if hes alright and then starts bribing them. Basicaly by the end of the day that person has signed a no publicity form and is sitting in a grand suite in the grand floridian.

Hm. Seeing as Dinosaur is one of the most jerky rides at WDW I wouldn't be surprised if people get there back hurt on it once in a while. There's a reason it has a back warning.

And do they really need to report every single little incident to the media? I'm sure FOX News wants to report on my mom who stubbed her toe coming out of Peter Pan.

I'm talking about the big things, things that matter. Kids fall and get there knees scraped all the time. People get dizzy on Mission Space. Etc etc.

before mission space opened and they were doing soft openings which it was more intence then iit is now ive seen atleast 5 people come out on stretchers. idk why but all i know was that i rode it 3 times felt like crap (not suprised) and watched 5 people bein carried out on stretchers

That would most likely be because the people had motion sickness issues and ignored the warnings.
I went on Mission Space when it was all hardcore and it was jerky and not fun for me, but it definetly wasn't on the level that an average healthy person would end up on a stretcher.

You ignored the motion sickness warnings didn't you.

Sorry, I don't believe the stretcher thing. I don't believe things like this unless they come from a reliable source.

^ ::yes::

You look at any public place and they're going to have a long list of incidents that have happened. They look worse when you pile them all together like that.

Exactly.
Also, it says that VERY FEW were Disney's fault. Very few.
