Oh me, oh my! Are we really going to WDW in.....JULY!?! UPDATES TODAY 07/19 pg 30!!

Your 150 day to Disney day sounded like a lot of fun :wizard:

Poor thing Meg gettng so upset over a test. I am glad she ended up doing well :goodvibes

Happy Anniversary to your parents and Happy Birthday to your husband :dance3:

I just wanted to weigh in on the Savannah view debate... I would definately do it! The kids had a blast, they leave a booklet with all the different animal types in the room and every day the kids got up and first thing was to check out what the could check off the list of animals to see. Now usually depending on your Savannah you tend to get the same animals over and over (how many ostrich can you see in a lifetime ) but they have so many viewing areas in the hallways - make that looooong hallways, that you can see others as well. The giraffes were a big hit though!

Maybe that should be your 100 day celebration - a surprise room change with a Savannah View!:thumbsup2

Congrats Jen on your weight loss!!!! Especially since you didn't even know you were doing it! Can you PM me where you got your jeans? I have a hard time finding some. I have one pair that I wear ALL the time.
Happy Birthday to Tom!

Happy Anniversary to your parents and Happy Birthday to your husband :dance3:

It was so much fun...as was our Disney "Girl Night" on Friday with the Disney treats again.

I think she is doing okay....she just gets herself so worked up some days....it makes me feel SO badly for her. BUT, we are definitely making so much progress from how bad things used to be. She is a trooper for all she puts up with on the inside on a daily basis. She really is a smart cookie....I just want her to relax and not get so upset when she makes the occasional mistake. So glad it all turned out well!

Thanks for the well wishes to Mom and Dad and Tom---the anniversary duo are having a great time....more on that later...and Tom had a WONDERFUL birthday!! All in all, a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Tom!
That is so sweet of you!!! :goodvibes

I see you graduated from Wigd's School of Enabling!!!! :rotfl: Wow, does that sound tempting!!!! The girls would SO love that!!!! If you are not in a savannah view room....is it still pretty easy to see LOTS of animals from wherever in the resort???

Congrats Jen on your weight loss!!!! Especially since you didn't even know you were doing it! Can you PM me where you got your jeans? I have a hard time finding some. I have one pair that I wear ALL the time.
Happy Birthday to Tom!

Thanks sweetie!!!! I will surely PM you!!! :thumbsup2 So sweet of you to send Tom birthday wishes....that reminds me, I have to change his age in the siggie!!! :goodvibes

:yay::yay: WELCOME!!!!! I am so glad you found me! :goodvibes I would love to hear your report of AKL.....dish away! Are there any "Must do's" at AKL or things to avoid? Any major problems you had with the resort or things you LOVED about it???? Would love to hear it all!!! Congrats on your July trip! Megan is feeling SO much better....just hoping that the sickies STAY away!!! Thanks for joining in on the fun!

I will get out my notes but it was GORGEOUS!!!!!! We had a regular room at first and upgraded to Kidani the first day LOL. it was a beautiful room and the view was amazing from both rooms. The kids loved it too:)) They had an unusual amount of rain the week we went last year but we made the best of it:))

SO glad to hear so many positive comments about AKL...I really am so excited about staying there....I feel like I have to keep pinching myself because it just doesn't seem real yet!!! :) How were the buses? Any major problems?

Thanks for the kudos on the weight loss!!!

No major update today....things are always too busy for us in March with the plethora of family birthdays and March Madness in full swing to have much time to do much of anything else!!! Tom's birthday was great---dinner at Maggiano's---and if any of you have one near you, but it is a MUST if you do!!! VERY good meal indeed!!!!

Mom and Dad had a WONDERFUL time down at WDW for their anniversary---but said it was quite crowded!! They said even the CMs were commenting on how crowded it actually was! They so LOVED the Flower show at EPCOT, and were even dubbed the "First Family" at the American Adventure where they got to sit in special balcony seats to listen to the Voices of Liberty. Quite magical for them!!!! Their time in MK was just as magical, and they also spent MUCH time riding around the various modes of Disney transportation to check out more WDW hotels than you can imagine!! I will try to get some pictures from them to share with you of their fantastic trip!!! I am so excited it was filled with so much joy and magic!!!

Watching them go enjoy their trip, has not only put us in the Disney mood MAJORLY, it has made us all a little vacation stir crazy.....I don't know if we can hold out until JULY!!!! I wish Megs and I had the same Spring Break this year, because I know it would not be hard to convince Tom to go somewhere NOW!!!! I don't know how we are going to hold out!!! :goodvibes

That's all I know for now....have a great Sunday!

I am so glad your parents had a nice trip! :thumbsup2 What a treat that they were the First Family!

Can't wait to see some pictures.

So very cool that your parents were picked to be first family of American Experience! I just wish that you all could have been with them!!!

They had SUCH a great time!!! My favorite picture I have seen so far is one of them kissing in front of the castle! Isn't that cute!?!?!?! :lovestruc I will try to get her to send me some of their pictures and put them on here....knowing my not-so-techno-savvy Mom, that might take awhile! :lmao:

They LOVED the "royal" treatment.....AND they LOVED the American Adventure! They had never seen it before!

We SO wish we could have been there with them too!!! All three of us are suffering from a very SERIOUS case of Disney-itis!!! I wish I could be kidnapped by a really great DISfriend of mine who just happens to be heading that way in a week...........:rolleyes1............just sayin'! :confused3 :rotfl: I hope you guys have just as much fun as they did!!! :goodvibes

We would love to kidnap you and drag you down with us.....
Harper would adore Megs!

Thanks for all the congratulations sweetie!!! We are really way too excited for words around here.....I don't want to wish it away, but we just can't wait!

I noticed your ticker.....:hug::hug:MAJOR hugs coming your way hon, and lots of prayers that you won't have to wait much more for your heart's desire. I don't know if you knew or not, but it took 2 and half PAINFUL years for Tom and I to FINALLY be blessed with Miss Megs. Only those who have gone through a similar plight can understand your anguish---I am sending you LOTS of hope and prayers and hugs!!!!

Thanks for the WOOT WOOT!!! I know I can always count on that from you!!! :goodvibes

Okay, you and PP MUST go to Maggiano's, but you HAVE to take someone with you. If you have a party of 4 or more, then you can do their special family-style dining.....which.......is.......FABULOUS!!!!!! We went home with so many leftovers it was INSANE!!!! Yum yum yum!!!!!!

Glad to hear you parents had a wonderful trip. I can only imagine how much harder hearing their stories makes it for you to wait!!!

It has made it so difficult on Megan.....we hear on a daily basis how much she wants to go back NOW!!!! She wanted to sneak in my parents' bags so she could go with them.......and I think they wanted to steal her away too!!!!

Okay gang......I need a DISintervention of sorts!!!! The proverbial "talk me down from the ledge" chat you might say. Why???? Well, it is simple........panic has unmistakenly set in about the possible problems with our upcoming trip and the unavoidable C-R-O-W-D-S!!!!!!!!!!
:sad2:   :scared1:

Where does this come from all of a sudden? My lovely hubby of course! During dinner last night, our talk once again turned to our trip, and we started talking about how excited we are. (I know...you are shocked, right?!!?) Well, at some point, our lovely dinner convo took an ugly turn for the worst, and Tom ended up talking about how he wished we were going at some other time of the year because the threat of the crowds were starting to worry him. I came back to my usual soother---"Don't worry! We will be fine!! We KNOW how to really use the FP, and we always have Megan's GAC to use if things get so bad that we need to use it!" (Batting my eyelashes accordingly!) ;) But it didn't work....he kept highlighting flaws in my answer (like the fact that the FP will be going MUCH faster in July, and also that we don't like to rely on the GAC card unless ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!!!) But, it still didn't seem to work.....he continued going on, and on, and on..............................................................................to the inevitable point that I finally stopped trying to dissuade his reasons, and actually started listening to them. (I think the kicker was when he said how much HE hated crowds, and wondered if we could get him a GAC card too!!!!) ;) And then, the same panic started setting in on me too!!!! :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

Since then, I have spent much of my free "brain time" thinking about how bad is BAD really????????????????????? Am I getting equally worked up like Tom for nothing????? Or should we really be SCARED!!!!!!!! Help me out gang.....those of you who have traveled down during this time in July, how BAD is it?????? Your input will be SO incredibly appreciated!!!! (Even if it does just affirm Tom's fears!!!) ;) Thanks in advance!

Yours truly, Waiting on the Ledge (aka Jen)

I am going to be NO help from going at that time but...
With that aside we do go at Christmas, the busiest time of the year and we do just fine. You will need to do the same type of touring for crowds AND heat.

Go EARLY!!! ride, ride, ride!!!

Rest and swim in the afternoons.

Collect and save FPs for evening.

You can do this Jen!!! :thumbsup2

I totally agree with Anita!! Just make sure you get there early! No matter the time of year rope drop is the best time to avoid the crowds and the heat!! Spend the afternoons doing some fun non-park options and then head back in the evening with your FP and enjoy the cooler Nighttime Disney fun!!

I think you will be fine

Get up early like other says, do a lot of rides

go back to hotel for rest and or swim

and then come back in evening

:goodvibes
