Oh me, oh my! Are we really going to WDW in.....JULY!?! UPDATES TODAY 07/19 pg 30!!

You present such a good case for buying a huge screen TV. I have never been interested in one, but now that you bring up the fact that I could see Disney resorts in a more life-sized way....:scratchin

Yeah - not gonna happen, but it's something to shoot for some day.
After new tub.
New flooring.
New dryer.
New stove.
New roof.
:upsidedow

By the time I get to have a big screen, there may several new Disney resorts to watch on it.

A sleep-in morning on the trip will be a nice thing. We rarely do that, but whenever we do, it really is nice just to let everyone wake up on their own time and be in a good mood, have a relaxing breakfast, and just regroup. :)

Your July plans are so close to my heart, because I really wanted to go toward the end of July this year. Your plans could have been mine, but we pretty much had to go during the 4th due to people's schedules. If I had the money, I'd pack Brooklynn up, and she and I would go back for a few days at the end of July and first of August.

Just sitting here playing around on the Dis and I came across your trip report and we have a few things in common. First this is my first year back to full time work as a teacher after working part time or staying at home with my kids. My daugher, who is 8, is Megan and her nickname around the house is Megs!! My family and I are headed to the world in June and we are celebrating our 12th anniversary!! I have my kids in a private Christian school where I now teach! Too funny! I'll have to keep checking in here.:rotfl:

Hey Jen!!!

You know what I think you are doing the right thing, you have to put your family first no matter what!! And trust that no matter what it will all work out for the best!!!! It's not easy to come to that point and the fact that you have is awesome!!!

OOOH Love that you get to add more days!! More time at Disney is always a plus WOOT WOOT!!!

The plans are sounding great and WOO HOO for adding days! We're in a two bedroom at AKL too and I'd love to send you, Megan, and Tom a text of the room and view once we get there, to get you even more excited about the space you'll be living in just two weeks after us! (if that's okay with you of course). We'll be booking our dining soon finally got responses from extended family joining us.

Hugs to Megan for the cold. It's hit Evan and I too and it's not fun at all!. I wish you good luck with the interview! I agree that's doing what's best for you and Megan is what's most important.

I would LOVE the pictures!!! I will have to PM my digits to you closer to your trip so you can send them to me....thanks so much! :thumbsup2 Poor Megs is still struggling with whatever it is that is going around....thank goodness the school closed down for three days, because I would HATE her missing all this school and have to make up all that work!!!!

I will keep you all posted about the interview on Monday....I am so excited....especially after the week I have been having at school.

Jen you're a great mom, very selfless and put family first -- who CARES what those people at the school think :hug::hug:

Thanks sweetie!!! right back!!! I just keep seeing so many more positives this direction.....I hope it all falls into place!

I think that you are making the right choice, for next year. I am not you or your family, but I DO know that only you and Tom know what's best for you and your family. It doesn't matter what the other people may or may not think or say of you. You and Tom know what's best for Megan and her well being. Now is the time to make the change, before you get really involved in your current school. Good luck at your interview! You know some good joo joo is coming your way.
Now, as far as the folder for your friends, I think that you should definately put in your ADRs and your park schedules. (what days you're going to which parks) Maybe some places to look for hidden Mickey's? Or some must see and do's? Little things that us DISers know about? Random facts about AKL?

Thanks for the pep talk and the joo joo!!! I will be thinking of that as I go into my interview.....and hopefully when I get to submit my letter of resignation!!! :yay: Positive thinking HAS to work, right????

I love your suggestions....so much that I am going to make sure I include as many of them in my packet as possible. I have started working on it, and when it is complete, I will take pictures and post here!!! Stay tuned!

Well Jen, I'm just going to say you go for it! This sounds exactly like what you need to do...

I understood completely how you felt thinking about your sick little girl waiting on you to come for her and knowing that you couldn't leave.
What a helpless feeling. :sad2:

Good luck with your interview!:flower3:

Oh the other stuff?

I vote for O'hana and WCC!:goodvibes

Thanks Anita! It is so nice to hear from people who know and understand what you are going through!!! She was a little tearful on Wednesday night....told me "Daddy did a good job...but NOT as good as Mommy" when I asked how he did. Of course, that made me tearful as well, but we focused on some of the positives about me going in rather than staying home---getting to go to her Valentine's party and field trip in March---and it seemed to help some. This year has just been filled with many "growing pains" and "life lessons" that I don't care too much for! ;) So then I think about our trip, and let the other stuff go for a little while! Is it summer yet????

OH MY GOSH!!!! Please keep coming back! I can't believe how much we have in common! Happy Anniversary to you too...in advance! We have been to WDW in June before, and really enjoyed ourselves! Feel free to share away about your trip, your family, your first year back teaching.....I know we will definitely be able to "understand" what the other one is going through! So glad for you that you get to teach at the same school with your kiddos....I hope that is where I will be next year with my Megs too! Have you experienced any cons about working at the same place with them?

You made me laugh out loud!!! :rotfl: If we lived closer, I would have you over to join in the viewing party...in our pj's of course! (It just makes it so much more enjoyable---to curl up on the couch with a cozy blanket, and dream about all those beautiful resorts!)

Tom's TV was a gift to himself and his buddies! A couple of years ago when we finished out the basement for their "man cave," I was told we couldn't have this big, finished basement and NOT a great TV for them to watch all their sporting events on!!! ;);) I think his lower lip was even pouted out a little when he said it! :rotfl:

I am sure our sleep-in will be GLORIOUS!!! I will make sure to write quite ALOT about it! ;)

I very selfishly wish you were going later in the month too, but I know you are going to have a wonderful time when you are down there!!! I am sure Brooklynn wouldn't mind being kidnapped......:rotfl:

***twilight zone music***

Isn't that WEIRD!?!?!?! SUCH a small world after all!!!

Thanks sweetie!!!:hug: You have such a way with words...you really have made me feel so much better, more confident about my feelings! Thanks so much!!!! WOOT WOOT indeed! :dance3:

Happy Valentine's Day to you and your family! I hope everything went well today with the interview!!:goodvibes:cheer2:

BTW We finally got our dining reservations!

I didnt realize anything new had been posted

Sorry about Megs. I hope she is feeling better by now

That is crazy how many kids were sick :scared1:

I think you are making the right decision by leaving that school and getting on same schedule with Meg :goodvibes

Thanks for the Valentine's wishes!!! Same to yours!

The interview was AWESOME!!! So excited about the possibilities!

So glad you finally got your ADRs.....so where are you eating?!?!?!

Thanks for the well wishes....she is finally seeming more like herself, but still poops out really early at night. Thankfully, we are hoping to recharge her battery this weekend!!! They actually made it through a FULL week of school this week, which I think may not have happened since Christmas with all the snow and illness this winter!! CRAZINESS!!!

Can't wait to see what you put together! How did the interview go???

The interview was AWESOME!!!! I hope to hear something very soon about a final offer!! Keep the prayers and pixie dust coming!!!!

Sorry there has not been a formal update this week folks! With Megan's illness, the interview, hosting the Valentine's party at her school, a full workload, three meetings, and a family birthday this week---my cup runneth a tad bit over! :rotfl:

The interview was GREAT, and I really do think the job is mine once the budget committee confirms the budget for the next school year. Keep the prayers and pixie dust coming!!! I know we will all be SO excited!

We have been nursing our VERY sick munchkin back to health, so Disney planning has fallen to the back of the agenda for the current moment---but don't worry, never forgotten!!! I am sure you would all love to know my secret ingredient for curing whatever ails Megan.....playing any Disney movie she wants or her favorite Disney record to pass the time! :goodvibes Yes, I have had the pleasure of listening to the happy sounds of the Main Street Electrical Parade MANY times over this week! No complaints out of my mouth! ;)

We have been diligently counting down our days to "Mickey's House" on our kitchen chalkboard, and are VERY close to a milestone....150 days!!! Yes, there is a "party" in the works.....more details on that tomorrow!

Until then...sleep tight, and dream LOTS of Mickey dreams tonight!

So happy that your interview went well! Let's send some pixie dust to the budget committee!

Feel better Megs!

:cool1::banana::cool1: WOOT WOOT!!! Yay for a great interview!! That is excellent!!! Very excited for you and will anxiously await the committee's answer with you!!!:cool1::banana::cool1:

Glad to hear Meg's is getting better!!! Nothing cures whatever ails you like Disney!!!!!

Hi, Jen! My cup is runneth over these days, too. In fact, it looks a tad bit like a fountain! LOL!

Yeay for the interview going so well! Lots of pixie dust headed your way! :wizard:

Glad to hear Megan is on the mend. Poor baby!

Let's hope things calm down for both of us soon so we can get back to Disney planning.

Thanks so much Miss Anita!!! :goodvibes Not only is it a great school, but the idea of being in the same building with Megan EVERYDAY just makes me SO happy!!! :cloud9:

As you can imagine, the prospect of Mommy teaching at her school makes her head over heels giddy.....but my very intelligent daughter was also the first to start bringing up possible cons!!! :sad2: She asked if I worked there, could I still be a Room Mom and work the holiday parties and chaperone field trips! Yikes! I told her I might not be able to organize the parties, but I could stop by for visits while my kiddos are partying with the rest of the 8th graders. The chaperoning gig....probably can't be resolved, but hopefully seeing me at school EVERYDAY will counter the issue of my NOT being on the field trips that occur only occasionally throughout the year. Sound like good logic?!??!?!

Thanks Jen!!! I almost can't believe I actually WANT to go back to teaching 8th graders (will probably miss the high school age a little), but after the group of 10th graders I have had this year, ANYTHING looks better right now! :rotfl: It would be a perfect fit for me for what we need right now in our family!

I agree....Disney thoughts always put a smile on my face....even on my lowest days!

I know the feeling sweetie!!!! HANG IN THERE! I hear there are some CONGRATS on a victory that we should be celebrating........

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

We have been so busy around here, I think it is catching up to all of us! The house needs some TLC this weekend, but today Megan has a "playdate" with her "BFF" at a Daisy Scout Tea, so that will be the major focus of the day. Tom and I have already scheduled out time for the rest of the weekend to get things settled here. Sound like fun?!?!?! Oh well, a necessary evil!

The other day we realized that we built this house 10 years ago already, and it is funny how all of a sudden, it is starting to show its' age. The carpet and kitchen flooring need to be MAJORLY upgraded, and the entire house needs a fresh coat of paint.......YUCK!!! I told him that I think I have hit the age where I just want to hire it out because I don't seem to possess the patience for home improvement anymore!!! :lmao: I think it is because I would MUCH rather plan for Disney instead!

Hey, I thought I'd stop back by. I do love working at the same school as my kids. I like knowing all the teachers and students. My little boy was sick this week too. He was able to head back to school on Thursday and I happened to be walking outside during his recess. It was so good to see he was feeling better, and not just wonder! I am sure you will love being so close to your Megs!

Jen, I saw that you asked if you still received fast passes for Mickey's Phil with the Winnie the Pooh fast passes. (I think you had asked on LL and JJ's ptr) When we were there we didn't get any FP for MP when we got our Winnie the Pooh FP. However on our last day there we went to MK and we got FP for Peter Pan and we got them then (but we didn't the first two times we were there). Now I am going back to catch up on your report.

I hope Megs is on the mend and feeling like herself soon. It is always hard to see our little ones sick. I am so glad your interview went well. I am sending you lots of pixie dust and positive thoughts that you will get the job. I would vote for O'hana we ate there and it was our favorite meal right behind Le Cell.

That is SO good to hear! I can't imagine NOT enjoying it!! Since Megs has already asked, how do your kids handle you not being able to function as a Room Mom or chaperone for field trips? This is her only concern.....for that I feel badly! Would love to hear your input!

Thank you SO much for the info!!! :goodvibes I am telling the FP Master right now! The wheels in his head are starting to churn as we SPEAK!!! :rotfl: It is such a science to him....God bless him! :rotfl2:

Thank you so much!! I TOO love O'hana!!! One of our all-time favorites! I could make a meal out of the appetizers alone there!

I do have to say that even though I ran around and got FP we really only used them about 4 or 5 times. You should see my stack of unused FP. After about the first 3 or 4 days I only got them if the lines were long. Also on that last day MK had power problems for the whole park. :scared1: We were there at rope drop and went right to Dumbo because Lexi wanted to ride it one last time before we left. Well when we got there it was closed and they only had 3 rides that worked in the whole park. :scared1: Winnie the Pooh, Carousel, and the Snow White ride. One by one the rides opened around the park but by the time we got back to Dumbo the wait was 25 min. That was the longest wait we had, by the time we got off of Dumbo the wait was already 50 min.

Thank you so much!! I TOO love O'hana!!! One of our all-time favorites! I could make a meal out of the appetizers alone there!

I agree. It was all soooo good.

That sounds like our house, too. It is time for all of those things, and I am just not feeling it. :lmao:

I agree. It was all soooo good.

Sounds like you had a great trip!!! Can't believe that about the power outage!!! You would think they would have SERIOUS back up generators to prevent that!!! I wonder if that was somehow related to the construction!!! How crazy is it now back in Fantasyland with all the construction walls?

That sounds like our house, too. It is time for all of those things, and I am just not feeling it. :lmao:

We are going to be building and moving, so we are hoping to fix things well enough to sell, but not that great that we would want to stay!!! :lmao::rotfl:

Jen, crossing my fingers and saying a prayer...that the job is definitely yours!

Thank you so much!!! After the meeting I had today, I am SO ready to change schools!!! Let's just hope that it all works out!!! :goodvibes
