Oh me, oh my! Are we really going to WDW in.....JULY!?! UPDATES TODAY 07/19 pg 30!!

How fun is it to have NO must dos? That is how I felt about this trip. Even though we are going within a huge group, we are doing lots of separate ADRs and have been able to pick whatever and just go with it! Planning is so much fun!!! I started my own PTR and am having tons of fun just thinking out loud!:upsidedow. Planning is 50% of the fun!

I completely agree! I love your line about planning outloud! When you do a PTR, I feel like you are getting the benefit of an endless supply of "unofficial" Disney tour guides! It is the greatest! I am going to hop over to your PTR too! :)

I'm going to go with Megan who wants three more nights LOL!!! Hope it works out!!!! Three more nights sounds absolutely delightful!!!

Must be Tom plotting to have three more nights at Disney!

DING, DING, DING!!!!!! He first started out by saying, "So how much would it cost to stay there for two weeks?!?!?!" Yes, I about fell off my chair! :rotfl: Yeah, it's that time of the year for him at work where he would give ANYTHING to have two weeks off.....so three more days is sounding very enticing to EVERYONE in this house right now! Tom just has to get the final okay from his head honcho, and I think we are a go! Fingers crossed....wishing for more pixie dust!!!! :wizard:

:rotfl:Well if we were going by Megan's hopes, she would be asking for 3 more WEEKS! True story: a few days ago when we were with my Mom and Dad and the reality of the trip was FINALLY sinking into our little munchkin, she says to my parents, "Grandma and Grandpa, when we go to Mickey's House in July can you watch Max? (Our puppy dog)" And when my Mom asked how long she would get to keep him, Megan said, "Oh, about a month." As serious as she could be.....I hated having to tell her that she meant a WEEK....NOT a month! ;):rotfl:Gotta love that girl's hopes and dreams!

Hey Jen....can you see if they are still giving out a Philharmagic FP when you get a Pooh FP at the MK? Tom wants to know! TIA, Jen

Three more days!?! I hope it works out and you get to stay!!!
I'm casting my vote for Tutto! We really enjoyed our food there.:goodvibes

Pssst, I'm with Megs, I could easily stay for a month....

Me too!!! :) I could go for a month in a HEARTBEAT!!!! Ahhhh....wishful thinking I guess! One can dream though, one can dream!

This Tutto place is getting bumped up more and more every day!!! I was telling Tom about it, and he is hoping he finds a relative from one of the waiters---his family's heritage is Italian. :goodvibes

:cheer2::cheer2::rotfl2::worship::rotfl::banana:Don't know where I have been all day.........but MY TICKER SAYS 6 MONTHS 'TIL DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just one of those moments I had to share.....how about some dancing to go along with that mini-celebration!?!??!??!

:cool1::worship::rotfl2::banana::dance3::cheer2::lmao: :dance3::yay::banana::worship::rotfl2::cool1:

That should just about do it! :thumbsup2

YAY FOR 3 MORE DAYS!!!!!! That's so awesome. And especially since you weren't the one to suggest it.
And woohoo for 6 months!!! I'm not far behind you. I got my plane tickets last Thurs. $149 r/t each, and that included taxes and fees!

Oh, we are going in July too! Can't wait. Due to my job, we have gone in July the past few times. We always manage to enjoy ourselves! I can't wait to get there!!!!

Hurray for six months and Tom getting the okay on more time at Disney!!!

Thanks my dear!!!! He can definitely get a day or two more....not sure on leaving on Wednesday or not, but we are going to take as much extra time as we can get! :goodvibes I am so excited!!!

Thanks for the all-out DANCE PARTY!!!! You are the BEST!!! :)

Oh, we are going in July too! Can't wait. Due to my job, we have gone in July the past few times. We always manage to enjoy ourselves! I can't wait to get there!!!!

So excited for you!!! When are you going, will our trips overlap? This will be our first time in July, so I would LOVE to hear your advice/tips/etc. about what it is like to go in July.....the crowds, the heat, the buses, etc. Share away!!! :)

You are LESS than 6 months away now!!! I always love the next day after the month mark when the new number pops up! Extra time is ALWAYS good! We added a couple days onto our trio due to my dh as well. I had to play it off and act cool about it just to not seem so eager!

Way to act cool about it!!! ;) Love that you are adding on....more days, more magic!!! :)

This update has been, let's say......brewing since Monday! Boy have I been BUSY making these reservations....trying to get things just right! It has been quite challenging...something I am not used to dealing with when it comes to ADRs. Yes, there have been challenges in the past GETTING the ADRs we want, but we always KNEW what we wanted. This year has definitely been different because for many of the days, I really had no idea what we wanted at all!

Since we are traveling with Allen and Nicole, I sent them a link to all the menus so they could peruse, "drool", and decide which restaurants they would like me to make reservations for us. They sent me a small list of restaurants they wanted to try---which was awesome because so many of them were new to us! Then I also consulted with Tom and Megan about where they wanted, and did my best to accomodate everyone's interests and desires into the final list. I also relied on advice from my pal "Mike"---TGM that is---to help with choosing dates for each park as well as good second choices to give us some flexibility and spontaneity during the trip......let's just say, it has been QUITE the challenge!

BUT, I am so happy to say, that for RIGHT now, all is done, and therefore, this UPDATE is finally ready to serve up the MANY ADRs booked.....and our itinerary to boot! :thumbsup2 So sit back, let your mouth water, as I share our MANY ADRs and the fun that we plan on having in between them! :goodvibes

So let's get this party STARTED!!:banana::banana:

As many of you have already read, Tom, Megan and I are planning and hoping that our partying gets an early start....we are going to try to leave on Wednesday, July 20th as long as Tom can get all his quarterly reports finished, processed, and analyzed by then. We would drive down, find a place to stay, and be ready for two days at the parks before Allen and Nicole get there on Saturday. I am hoping to rent a few more points to stay at a studio for Thursday and Friday night, and then we would move over to our 2bdrm at AKL with Allen and Nicole on Saturday. Right now, this is still in the "works" stage, but we are BOTH very hopeful that this works out the way we want. Unfortunately, we might not know for definite until closer to the trip---BUT, MY HUSBAND (can you believe this?!?!) wants me to go ahead and plan as if it IS happening so we are set in the actuality that it all works out!!! :yay: He might not be upfront about admitting it, but I know he has become just as crazy about WDW as Megan and I are! ;) SO, when your hubby give you the okay to make Disney plans....you do NOT hesitate!!!! :lmao:

So that is why our itinerary starts on.....

THURSDAY, JULY 21st:
  • Park--EPCOT (Now, I know most of you would assume we would hit MK first, but it was NOT a good day AT ALL for MK that day, and I thought a more relaxing day would be a good start for us.)
  • ADRs--1:10 Coral Reef and a 4:30 Tutto Italia ressie! I was very torn on where I might want to eat here, so we have two booked right now, with another possibility being booked later. What possibility? Well, I thought Megan might enjoy a brunch ressie at Akershus with the princesses, but I want to check on their cancellation policy first before I book it. Obviously we will not keep all of these, but wanted the opportunity to think about it for a little bit first! If the Akershus cancellation policy is something we can live and work with if we do have to wait another day to come down, I am sure that is what will win out! :goodvibes
FRIDAY, JULY 22nd
  • Park--MAGIC KINGDOM! (Okay folks, you know we couldn't stay away THAT long!) :lmao: Just want to soak up a little family magic as much as we can!
  • ADRs--8:05am Crystal Palace, 12:50pm Crystal Palace, and 7:15pm Ohanas. I know what you are thinking, what in the world is she doing?!?!?! Well, I thought at first, hey, maybe I can get a before-the-park-opens ADR, and I did, but then I thought, well, maybe we might not want a big breakfast/brunch two days in a row. So then I decided to get a lunch ressie there, and I did. Then I thought, what if we really want a nice dinner that night??? So, I found the Ohana reservation, and booked that one too! :lmao: Indecisive much??? YES, definitely!!! :rotfl2: I have no idea what to keep yet....would love some suggestions....especially from anyone who has traveled during July!
SATURDAY, JULY 23RD
  • Park--MK Since Tom and I will already be there, we can head over in the morning for some fun, and then come back to check-in, etc. when Allen and Nicole get there. We are not sure when they arrive yet because we have not received their flight info yet, but are hoping that they arrive early enough that they would enjoy going over to enjoy a little MK magic once they arrive.
  • ADRs--5:45pm Liberty Tree Tavern and 6:45pm Boma ressies. My thought here was that in case they are not there yet, or we do not go back to MK, we can just hang out at AKL and get a nice dinner at Boma's that night. If we do make it over to MK, LTT is a great place to start for dinner! YUM, YUM no matter how it works out!
SUNDAY, JULY 24TH:
  • Park--DHS! Nicole's only request was to see Fantasmic, and out of the two nights it is being offered so far, Sunday is the best choice. So that is why we are heading here.....hoping to get to see the later 8pm show.
  • ADRs--11:40am Sci-Fi Diner and 5:35pm 50s Prime Time Cafe. These were both on their list, but we may only do one--probably more likely to hit Sci-Fi. Tom really wants to make sure we make it into a Fantasmic performance for Nicole, so we are considering signing up to do the Fantasmic Dinner Package at Mama Melrose's so that we have a guaranteed seat. So there, may even be more changes to these. Imagine that!
MONDAY, JULY 25TH
  • Park--EPCOT! Should be a good day for a stroll around here!
  • ADRs--We know WHERE we are going to eat this day--Nine Dragons per Allen and Nicole's request--but have both a lunch and dinner ressie for it. 12:30pm and 5:00pm.
TUESDAY, JULY 26TH
  • Park--Animal Kingdom!
  • ADRs--8:00am Tusker House, 6:05pm Boatwright's at POR, and 6:25pm Boma's at AKL. The one request Laila had was to eat with Mickey. We have LOVED this breakfast in the past, so we thought this would be a good opportunity for her to do that! PLUS, we get the added benefit of getting into the park before it opens! :goodvibes The dinner reservations will be decided based upon what happens on Saturday---if we eat at Boma's on the 23rd, we will head over to eat at Boatwright's (another Allen and Nicole pick). If we eat at MK, we will stay at AKL and eat at Boma's.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 27TH
  • Park--MK.....just can't get enough!
  • ADRs--5:30pm Ohana and 5:00pm Kona Cafe. Not sure which we will stick with here.....depends alot on what everyone wants and whether or not Tom and I hit Ohana on our own on Friday. Either one is GREAT by me! I love that Polynesian food! It could easily have EVERYTHING to do with my love for the smell of the Poly lobby! :lmao:
THURSDAY, JULY 28TH
  • Park--Not exactly sure where we will be this day. By this point, we will have hit all four parks at least once, so the two best likely parks will be either MK again or EP.
  • ADRs--SO, I made ADRs at both! 5:20pm Tutto Italia and 5:00pm Tony's Town Square....either way, it will be an Italian night! :goodvibes
FRIDAY, JULY 29TH
  • Park--MK!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes
  • ADRs--5:00pm Grand Floridian Cafe and 5:00pm Whispering Canyon Cafe. Depending on where we have REALLY eaten throughout this week, this night could DEFINITELY change. We might even want to cancel the two we have, and add back one that we missed throughout the week.
SATURDAY, JULY 30TH
  • Allen and Nicole will be flying home, and we will be departing at some point.....BUT Tom has already hinted at possibly getting in just a little bit more magic before we leave. We shall just have to see! No ADRs though!

Okay gang....that's it for right now! I would LOVE to hear any feedback, comments, concerns, advice, etc. to help us finally narrow this down to an itinerary plan that is doable! Can't wait to see what you all think!!!!

All I have to say is YUM and DROOL! I've got to get moving on our reservations!

Okay, you have me very curious about Boatwrights, we have never eaten there or heard much about it. Do tell!

Also what about Nine Dragons? We haven't been there either...

We have a Breakfast ADR at Akershus in March, that will be our first time for an early adr there, we have had dinner. I say Megs needs a princess encounter!

Over Christmas we had a blast and good food at Whispering Canyon so I'd give it a two thumbs up!

Ohana is always a favorite with us! I think you have some awesome meals on your list!

You have lots of good eating plans!
I bet your friends enjoyed looking through the menus. It was probably a little overwhelming, but fun to think about all of the good food! When the trip is over, it will be interesting to see which ones end up being their favorites.

The 30th is my birthday. Maybe you can have a birthday zebra dome for me! :)

My stomach is growling now, Jen! So many great places to eat on this trip! I can't wait to see which ones make the cut, but whichever ones do, it will be a week full of fabulous meals!
