"Oh, it's raining..let's stay another day!" - An August 2011 TR - *UPDATE: 9/15*

Great updates. Again - you have managed to get some really great, crystal clear pictures!

And how does one get a 97% accuracy on TSM. that's pretty darn impressive.

Great pictures of you with the characters. You Tigger can't be any worse than my Pooh. It's bad! :rotfl:

That cupcake looks amazing!!!!!

My camera lens gets all foggy too! It makes the pictures come out kinda cool though.

WOW! Front of the row and first thru the turnstiles, that's impressive. :thumbsup2 I don't think we've ever made it to DHS before noon, we usually sleep in those days!

There are always those people who seem to live at the drawling class. :scared1: We finally decided on one after 5 minutes of listing characters last year! Haha I love your descriptions of your families drawling. We drew Buzz last year and my moms kinda looked like an egg. :lmao: I was looking at those same exact pictures in the gallery. The Belle one is so cool.

Ahhhhhh. We also had an interesting experience in the line for TSM. I can't wait to write about that in my TR, should be fun. Love your shirt btw!

Can't wait for more! :thumbsup2

DMom got mint chocolate chip:

Now, when planning what we were going to do this night, we though we were going to be super tired due to us waking up at 3:30 AM so we were just going to hang around the hotel, but DSis and I weren't too tired so we decided to go to Magic Kingdom!!

I'll have the same, please. :)

I like POFQ - it's a quaint, peaceful resort. The only negative to me is those creepy masks in the food court.

Impromptu trips to a park when you think you are pretty much done for the day can end up being some of the best minutes of a trip. Glad you got to go on over and get in a little MK fun. :thumbsup2

This and a monorail in front of my Christmas tree could make for a magical Christmas season every year. :santa:

Of course, this year we're going to Disney World on Christmas Day, so it'll be magical, for sure. :goodvibes

Definitely! If only he hadn't hurt his back he would've been on the show. I also liked the original Gladys Kravitz better than the new one.
Me too..the originals are always better! :thumbsup2
cool uupdate, the cupcake looks delishhh.

:)
Thanks, it was!!
Wow! I can't believe you guys were actually the first at the turnstiles. That's just insane. But I guess it was to your advantage during the TSM mad dash. :thumbsup2 And you got to ride it twice, which is pretty good and I can't believe how high your accuracy is. It's amazing how the lower scores have the higher accuracy LOL

Ooooo... that's really cool they gave you a choice for what character to draw at the Animation Academy and such a big list, and for that girl to have TWO off that list, she really must go there A LOT, because usually, I hear, it's the same character over and over. :/

Love your Woody and Buzz pictures! :thumbsup2 But I can't believe that kid licked all of those picture-taking things. Nasty! Who would even think of doing that?! :sad2:

I guess "Holding Out For A Hero" is a popular song at the AIE. On my last trip, the girl who ended up winning for our show sang that song. She had a major in music so it was amazing. Maybe that song is a pointer for all the good singers :confused3

Oh my gosh, the Red Velvet Cupcake looks SOOOO GOOOD! The way you describe it and the pictures... ohhhhhhh... I MUST get one of those when I go back. I guess I'll go eat another Milky Way now to silence my hunger lol

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum
Yeah..I love getting there early! Last year, my sister and I were the first people on TSM!
&The cupcake was so, so good! One of my favorite snacks there!
Thanks for reading along!! :goodvibes

Thank you!!
IDK how I got 97%..i just aim for the small targets and make sure I hit them!
haha, I'm not very good at drawing, either!!

We usually get to DHS the earliest to make sure we get on TSM..but I can see how that is a good park to sleep-in for..most of the shows don't start until around noon.
Drawing Buzz would be very cool..it wasn't on the teachers list though.
Thanks & can't wait to read about your experience in your TR! :goodvibes

Yeahh, the masks are kinda creepy!
Oh a monorails around the Christmas sounds so nice! :wizard:

Day 2 - Part 2

When I left off we were just finishing up some yummy snacks at Starring Rolls bakery!
After that we really didn't want to see anyhting else here so we decided to just look around in some of the shops.
IMG_7974.jpg

My favorite store in Hollywood Studios is the one at the very end with all of the autographs in it! They had some pretty cool ones:
Gorbachev (I always think it's so interesting when they have a historical figure's autograph rather than a celebrity)
IMG_7975.jpg

And now my favorite in the whole store! I wish I had an extra $300 laying around..
A signed check by Elizabeth Montgomery! They throw you off by putting Dick York in the picture, but it was just one autograph.
IMG_7976.jpg

A close up of the the check. She had the best handwriting..I love it!
IMG_7978.jpg

After this store we headed out of the park and to the bus stop to wait for a bus back to POFQ.
We relaxed a bit in the room and then we went to the outlet mall right outside of Disney. We wanted to go to a few stores there..Vera Bradley, Coach, Fossil, and of course, the Disney outlet!!
I took some pictures..not very exciting, though!
IMG_7985.jpg

IMG_7982.jpg

Don't be fooled by the shade in these pictures..it is HOT there. It is much hotter there than in WDW, it's ridiculous!
After the outlets we went to Publix to pick up a few things and then we drove back to the hotel.
Once back at the hotel, we dropped our bags and stuff off at the room and then headed to Downtown Disney for some dinner!
We were really excited to take the boat! (well I was really excited anyway)
IMG_7987.jpg

The boat at the dock:
IMG_7988.jpg

I took so many pictures on the boat..the scenery is so pretty I had to! So here are a few for your enjoyment..
IMG_7991.jpg

These are really cool. Treehouses a part of Saratoga Spings. They hold nine people and you get your own pool and stuff. (I got a better picture on the boat ride back.)
IMG_7999.jpg

A passing boat:
IMG_8005.jpg

We've arrived!
IMG_8015.jpg

IMG_8017.jpg

Characters in Flight
IMG_8020.jpg

It was cool seeing this Lego structure from the water, not from the land.
IMG_8026.jpg

IMG_8030.jpg

The boat leaves you off near Rainforest Cafe.
IMG_8033.jpg

We headed to Earl of Sandwhich for dinner.
I got 'Earl's Club' (i think that's what it's called). It was okay, I'm not a huge fan of this place. I don't like the bread too much, but that's what most people love about it! The rest of my family likes it though.
IMG_8041.jpg

I didn't get pictures of the other sandwhiches, but I did ge tpictures of the desserts!
DDad's bread pudding:
IMG_8038.jpg

DMom & DSis got chocolate pudding:
IMG_8037.jpg

And I got a brownie sandwhich filled with peanut butter! It was so good! I took a few pictures of it:
IMG_8042.jpg

IMG_8043.jpg

IMG_8044.jpg

After we ate we went over to do some shopping. First we went to Once Upon A Toy.
IMG_8046.jpg

IMG_8047.jpg

continued in next post

At Once Upon A Toy I got the Minnie I took a picture of the night before in MK..it's so cute I just had to get it!
The cashier even gave DMom and I Mickey stickers!
Next was World of Disney. It's always super crowded in here, but I love it!
IMG_8049.jpg

IMG_8051.jpg

Belle!
IMG_8055.jpg

The princess room in the back is my favorite.
IMG_8058.jpg

After WoD, we went to the Lego sotre to check out some of the new lego structures that were built.
Buzz & Woody:
IMG_8073.jpg

Me with the Legos (I don't think that woman knew we were taking a picture..)
IMG_8074.jpg

The Malificent:
IMG_8069.jpg

Snow White:
IMG_8075.jpg

And then inside they have another Woody!
IMG_8076.jpg

And another Snow White structure outside. I had to wait so long to get a good picture of this. A tour group was passing through and they were crazy!
IMG_8080.jpg

After that we headed to the art store. I wanted to look in the store that's connected to that for some scrapbooking things. I wound up getting the Deluxe Scrapbooking kit which is very cool..they have so many stickers and paper in it!
Here are some pictures from the art store:
IMG_8086.jpg

IMG_8091.jpg

This was cool..it was a box full of old-looking tin signs:
IMG_8093.jpg

Coming Up: A visit to Riverside!

Hi! I just found your TR and I am so thrilled to see a picture of my beloved Chewy Caramel Bar! They were out of them when I went in May, but I had wanted to get a picture of it. Would you mind if I posted your picture on my TR? I think everyone would be interested in seeing what one looks like, since I've been talking them up for awhile now.

Great TR! Can't wait to read more! :)

The outlet mall seems like a nice break from the parks, even though you said it was hot! I'd like to see the Disney stores they have off property. We never went off property when we were at the World, but we will next summer when we go to SeaWorld. :goodvibes

The boat looks fun too! Hah, I'd be the most excited like you. :upsidedow Again, we'll get to do that when we stay at Port Orleans next year. I think we're going to stay at Riverside though. And I love your pictures of the boat ride, don't the treehouse villas seem so fun? Makes me wish I had a big group to go to Disney with!

Lumiere! I've never seen those Beauty and the Beast statues in the World of Disney store! They're so cool. Love the castle, it looks so much like the real thing. :cloud9:

I like your pictures of all the legos!! It's amazing how they do that. :goodvibes

Here. We are planning a stay at POFQ too. I'm loving all the pics!

Thank you for joining in!
of course you can use the picture! They're tasty, aren't they? :cloud9:

The outlets are really good. The stores are nice..I got a nice Vera Bradley wallet-type thing for about half-off.
oh I love the boat ride..it's so much fun. :sail: Riverside is beautiful..I'll have some picture sof it in my next update!!
I know the legos are amazing..the builders must be very patient! :)
Here. We are planning a stay at POFQ too. I'm loving all the pics!
:welcome: POFQ is a great resort!
Thanks for reading!!

Love your TR so far!! The sister eating ice cream part was funny :) i really want to try the brownie sandwhich my next trip really badly! Glad to hear it lives up to the hype! The red velvet cupcake looks good as well! I might get that when my mom goes to try the butterfinger cupcake! I love that your first MK ride is the peoplemover. My mom usually hit either that or buzz as our first MK ride. Port Orleans seems nice as well. I have been intrigued with the resort ever since i went to new orleans the summer going into my senior year (like your sister i am also 20 years old). Can't wait to hear more :)

Lots of good pictures. I am always up for a photo tour of DTD. :thumbsup2

We love Earl's bread! I think you are the first person I have ever heard say they didn't like it.

Oh. My. Gosh. A check signed by the Samantha Stephens! I so got to look for that when I'm there. Though, I'm sure my mom will be the one to point it out of course

The SSR Treehouses look so cool! If I could I would definitely try to get the chance to stay in those. Not having to cram my family or friends into a one bedroom room... that would be the best :goodvibes And is Mickey and Minnie gone from the statue thing that comes out of the top of World of Disney because I can't see them in the picture you took of the lego lake monster... Maybe it's the angle, I don't know, but it doesn't look as big as I remember :/

Oh wow, I think you're the first person I've met on the DIS to not like Earl of Sandwich. I've heard so many good things, but it's good to get an opposing viewpoint, though it still looks good in pictures... Yum!

Oh wow, I never noticed Belle or Lumiere at the WoD store. Maybe I did but forgot  But that's so cool that they are there. I may have to do a random pic next to my favorite maitre'd... hehehee... And the Lego Sculptures look as cool as ever.

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

What a great afternoon shopping - the outlets and then DTD. Fun!

You got some great DTD shots. I love the Buzz Lightyear and Woody legos. Very cool. I also love your picture of T Rex. Great shot.

I hope you got lots of fun stuff. I do enjoy EOS, so your sandwich looked good to me!

The people mover was the only thing without a long wait that night...but it is a great ride!! :thumbsup2
Lots of good pictures. I am always up for a photo tour of DTD. :thumbsup2

I know! A check signed by Samantha just inches from me! :goodvibes
I never even noticed Mickey & Minnie on the top of World Of Disney..so I guess I can't answer your question.
The Legos are very cool..I love all the new one sthey have! :thumbsup2

Everybody seems to enjoy EoS..it's always so crowded!
good update. the lego storee is my daughters favorite. the boat ride looks very cool. :)
Thank You!!
The boat ride was great. princess:

I followed you over from PirateKate's Ever, Ever After TR! I'm all caught up, and I can't wait to hear about the rest of your adventures! :surfweb:

Day 2 - Part 3

After we shopped, we got on a boat back. Before we went to POFQ, we were going to visit Port Orleans Riverside to see

what it was like. I took more pictures on the boat, of course.
Saratoga Springs:
IMG_8098.jpg

IMG_8101.jpg

IMG_8107.jpg

A few better pictures of the treehouses. This time I was on the right so I could see them better.
IMG_8118.jpg

IMG_8124.jpg

We arrived at POFQ first, but stayed on so we could ge to POR.
IMG_8133.jpg

IMG_8139.jpg

Then we were on our way to POR. The boat ride is very short.
These mansions are so pretty!
IMG_8142.jpg

IMG_8148.jpg

I love the theming of this resort..it's very nice.
IMG_8150.jpg

IMG_8151.jpg

We got off the boat to walk around.
Horse & Carriage:
IMG_8155.jpg

We went into the shop. The store there is huge! It's not an average resort gift shop, they have many things there that

POFQ didn't have. But I guess bigger resort, bigger store. And they gave us Mardi Gras beads to wear!
After the store, we headed back to the dock. We didn't walk around too much..we were actually going to walk back to

POFQ, but decided not to..it was really hot and we were getting pretty tired.
On the way to the dock:
IMG_8164.jpg

IMG_8171.jpg

We were waiting at the dock with lots of people ahead of us, so we had to wait two rounds of boats, but they come

pretty quickly.
The big water wheel:
IMG_8177.jpg

DMom took this picture of me & DSis:
IMG_8178.jpg

Then I tried to take more embarassing pictures of DSis, but I wanted to do it secretly, so I put the camera behind my

back to take a picture, but she saw and took this lovely picture.
IMG_8183.jpg

Once we got on the boat I started taking lots of pictures again, haha.
IMG_8201.jpg

POFQ from the water:
IMG_8205.jpg

IMG_8211.jpg

We got off a POFQ, but the people behind us on the boat were like, "Why are we stopping here? Nobody's even getting off

here!" and at POR they only fill up half the boat so the people at POFQ can fit, also and those same people said, "What a

waste of boat space, they only fill up half! No wonder we waited so long!"
Anyway, when we got off DMom & DDad went back to the room, but DSis and I went to the store at POFQ to get some

postcards.
IMG_8221.jpg

Candy in the store:
IMG_8219.jpg

Then we went to the foodcourt area to write out our postcards and mail them.
After that, we headed back to the room.
