Bored

I do nothing all day... I shouldn't complain but I went to school for 2 1/2 yrs to learn this stuff and NOTHING.... I feel like I wasted my time here...


I sit here from 8:20 am till 5:00 pm doing nothing....

I know how you feel I went to school for 4 years to sit here and work for 2 hours and then have nothing else to do for the rest of the day.

I dont feel so bad b/c it is the same for almost everyone in my dept.

I left my last job for the same reason and when I came here I was like "I am leaving b/c i need more to do " and they were like "oh we are very busy"

yeah for 2 days a month

Its been hard for me to leave here b/c my benifits are awesome

oh, let me join in. I have a 4 year accounting degree and a CPA license and I do NOTHING for most of the month. I might be busy 3 days a month, and then nothing else. But I have to have the appearance of looking busy....It stinks but the pay is decent. I keep trying for promotions but keep getting turned down because I don't have any experience. WEll duh! I am sitting ehre doing nothing all the time.

I have days like this as well today is one of them. Luckily I'm busy most of the time and the day flies by. They keep on giving me more positions to try to keep me busy but it doesn't work since I finish things so quickly.

Good luck not being bored! My mornings usually fly by and the afternoons drag so I eat my lunch and work then take my lunch break later and just knit the whole hour. Today I took it from 1:30-2:30 that makes the day go by faster for me becasue there's only a few hours left now.

What do you do? Do they have any openings? I work 12 hour days nonstop, often with no time for a lunch break. Although I see your point. That could make a work day seem like forever. My day zooms buy and I still dont seem to have it all caught up. Maybe we could work for each other every other day...

I don't do much at my job either. Today, I might have done an hour of actual work, the rest of the time I was on the DIS! I does get boring, but I do get a lot of "research" in.

Everyone always says this to me but it really SUCKS. On the few days a month I am busy i go in and the day flies by. The rest of the time the day drags on and on forever. The worst part is I have asked for more to do but no one where i work has enough to so i just get told to make sure this or that is up to date which i know it it b/c i have enough time to review it everyday. I would be much happier being alot busier than i am not

Some days I am busy from the time I walk in the door, until I go home. Then some days I have barely enough work to do to keep me entertained. It is either feast or famine.

My job used to be like this - a few crazy days, and then afternoons that would just crawl while I pretended to look busy. I got a LOT of DISing done then...

In May, we just had a restructure and now my job is completely different. I have 11 direct reports to the 1 I used to have, I have about 2 1/2 FT jobs rolled into one. I keep trying to decide if the salary I'm making is too small for what I do now or if it's realistic and I was just skating before.

The busy is definitely better most days than the boredom. Somehow three hours of nothing feels like six.
