Oh, Great, Mom's on her Disney kick again - 1st time ptr

Hmm yea, if he got that upset I think I would hesitate "lying" to him too. That's a hard one... maybe just wait and if Christmas comes and they still just want to know the month, tell them the month. Hopefully you'll still get a good surprise out of them when you surprise with actually leaving! I'll have to brain storm to see if I can come up with any other ideas...

I'm In!

Your kiddo's are too cute.

Our Favorite ADR's are

Princess Breakfeast in Norway
Teppan Edo
Germany
The Land (dinner only)

We did the Crystal Palace, it wasn't that good this year. Cape May is awesome for dinner or breakfeast. I've done the castle but we like Norway better. Beacuse you have 2 Princess DO the at least the Princess breakfeast in norway the interaction with Belle was AMAZING, I was in tears at the look on my DD face, Belle spent a lot of time with her. She also got my flirt of a little man to blush! Next year we are going to try Donald's breakfeast it's the only place to find Daisy and DD LOVES Daisy Duck! I think I'd be open to 1900 Park Fare..... sounds intersting.

If your looking at flying have you considered a Park n Fly? we live 90mins from denver and we always drive up the night before stay and fly out in the morning. The cost of the hotel includes parking for the time we are in WDW which would be the same as just parking alone at DIA. You would get the advantage of starting your trip a night early, maybe some winter pool time, and a good nights sleep.

Being a military family, I fly with my 2 all the time, check KAYAK.com for fares too.

Not sure about how to handle your big little Man............. that will need some thought

Ok, so we still owe about 1900.00 on our vacation which is due the end of December. I was talking with Dan the other day, trying to get some input from him, and he was acting not so magical, not really in the Disney spirit which in not normal for him. So I asked what's up, he doesn't think we are going to be able to make it, he is doubting it a lot. Now me, I know it's gonna be tough, some things came up and has put a strain on us, but I am determined, we have had to cancel 2 previous trips due to finances, and this time I was confident we could do it no problem, then of course I had surgery and that was a HUGE hit to the pocket book, but it still looked very promising. Now I am not giving up, I am doing everything in my power to make it happen, but the thing is until we have paid this off, I am alone in my day dreaming/planning etc. He has no motivation or anything. I am not giving up, I know we can still do it, but it's hard not to have him living in the disney dreamworld with me. So I am leaning on my disfriends even more to still enjoy this pretrip time.

It is really tough when your spouse isn't into it the way you are. My DH has agreed to our trip as long as I pay for the whole thing my myself. No pressure! I am awful at saving money but I am very motivated and having been doing pretty good. My dd birthday was last week and I managed to keep the presents to a minimum. X-mas will be hard since I always go overboard.
We also got a flyer in the mail for Disney on ice which we have done the last 2 years and DD said she would like to go. I was thinking about it but then I realized that would pay for a night at Pop.

Here's some pixiedust.Hope everything works out!

Love those mountain pics - so beautiful.

My DH has his eyes glaze over whenever I talk about Disney World. He listens, but I can tell he's tuned out. On the other hand, I totally get how your DH wouldn't want to talk about it, if he didn't know you for sure could make it.

Keep on planning & keep on sharing with us. We can make up for his lack of enthusiasm!!:dance3:

So I vented about my issues with being able to pay off the vacation and about Dan's lack of enthusiasm. Well he calls me at work last night and tells me his computer died. He was upset, but felt better after talking about how outdated it was and how he needed to upgrade anyway. I PANICKED!!!!! Later I talked to him very carefully about this. I told him that we really could not be spending that kind of money right now if we still wanted to make this Disney dream a reality. He got frustrated with me at first, talking about how he shouldn't have to go without a computer for that long, etc. Yeah we have the laptop, but he is a gamer and his games are on his computer. So anyway, after a little talking, he realized what had to happen. We both had agreed to make this happen there would be some sacrifice, and no major spending at all. Our mini-vaca to NC probably shouldn't have happened either but we ended up spending less than 200 on that. So for now he is ok, and we are back where we need to be, FOCUSED:thumbsup2

My DH is a big gamer too. He's more into the XBox/Playstation games. He used to buy every single game that came out & keep them. Well our budget got pretty tight a few years ago. We each got a spending allowance & I told him, if he wanted to buy games, he'd have to save his spending money. So he discovered he could sell his used games at Game Stop. He also found he could buy games used, not long after they were released. He started selling his games after he was done playing them & sold all the really old stuff. He uses the money to buy the new releases, and he even got a refurbished xbox 360 when his crashed, from the sale of old games. Anyway, he turned an expensive habit, into a practically free hobby. Not sure if it works the same way for computer games, but if it did your hubby might be able to get some cash to put towards a new computer or to repair/refurbish his old computer.

Gaming grade computers are REALLY expensive or they can get that way with all of the upgrades and "stuff". Has he looked into building his own? , what part of his computer bit it? is there away to reuse componets? DH is famous for just buying a new one when the old one shows the slightest glitch.

Does he have DVD or games he no longer plays? Like pp mentioned is there a way he can sell some of his excess to "earn" enough to rebuild his current computer?

He doesn't go all out gamer computer. We do build our own computers. His motherboard went out, and since it is very outdated that means new motherboard, cpu and memory. We are praying it didn't fry his hard drives which has happened before. We are in agreement though he is waiting until after our vacation to buy his new computer. He hasn't played any of his games in a few months, he will survive.

I don't believe so. And i Have never even had it, just the thought of it. It's my goal though this time, that and a dole whip

I think I am the only person who doesn't want to go to Kona to get tonga toast. I really want the Big Kahuna. MMMMM...pancakes, french toast, sausage, bacon... where can you go wrong? (and no, I have never actually been to Kona)

I am not sure if I'll book Kona. I really want to but I convinced DD to drop and character meal in order to book T-REX and she dropped Ohana. I have a feeling if she sees Ohana she'll want to eat there and it will be too late.

OH the Big Kahuna is right up my alley. The macadamia pancakes, mmmm. But we aren't eating at Kona actually, we are stopping at Captain Cook's and grabbing Tonga toast, possibly as a snack one day and share, or we'll stop last day before hitting DTD.

I do see your dilema though too, we've never done Ohana, have thought about it but the food doesn't appeal to my hubby so it's a no go this time around. I am curious to hear how T-Rex is for you. We've done Rainforest and didn't like the food at all, the enviroment was fun, but not worth the dough for us, plus with our younger boy the loud noises he wont eat he'll sit and plug his ears.

7am Be at Bus stop
8am Donald's Safari Breakfast
Kilimanjaro Safaris
Grab FP for ITTBAB
Dinosaur/Primeval Whirl - Big Kids
Tricera Top Spin/Boneyard - Little Kids
Finding Nemo Musical (hopefully time works out)
Everest
Kali River Rapids (Alli is 37 inches now, so hopefully by then . .)
LUNCH - thinking snacks, nuggets, pretzels, possibly Flametree BBQ though
Maharaja Jungle Trek
Flight of Wonder????
Camp Minnie Mickey
Festival of the Lion King (Dan's naptime :lmao:)
Throw in It's Tough To Be A Bug whenever our FP is good. Would be grea if we could do it right before Camp Minnie Mickie

Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade
and if there's any time left
Rafiki's Planet Watch and Pangani Forest Trail

I can handle criticism and all that, so bring it on. Anything we should change, if you think I need a reality check at being able to accomplish all of this with 4kids and a husband aka another big kid please tell me. I just know the first time we went we did it all and were done by 3pm, the 2nd time our little guy was sick so we took it really easy and still hit almost everything.

I think you plan sounds good! And I would say in Feb. it's most likely doable. I just have one thing. I wouldn't bother with a Fast Pass for ITTBAB. I've never seen a major line for it, not even in the busy season of late June. I would get one for something else where the lines tend to be longer.

Thank you for your support and suggestions. And with that I have a question. Would you recommend that we try to hit ITTBAB at the time we planned on getting the FP or go later in the day? This is close to the top of the list for must do attractions, so we cannot miss it.

I've only been once to AK. We did Donald's BF, Safari, the trail that is near there, planet watch (we spent a ton of time here...), Kali river rapids (4x's it was walk on), got FP for everest (but it was poring when we were suppose to ride it), went to Nemo, it was pouring even more when Nemo was done and we tried to wait it out but it just didn't stop. We missed a ton and left at four. I think you would probably be able to do you list as long as i doesn't rain... I wish that we hadn't spent so much time at the planet watch, but the kids loved it.

Thanks for your response to my plan. I do love AK, Dan not so much, he likes some of it, but isn't overly excited about it. I pray it doesn't rain, but you never know.

How was Nemo? When we were there they were still doing the Tarzan show, or it was just closing, one of the 2. I am excited to check it out. If I have to pick I guess I'll skip Lion King, but I really don't want to, that is one of my all time FAVs.

Finding Nemo, was so fun. I really enjoyed it and all of my kids loved it. I did have a hard time figuring out if I liked watching the fish or the people controlling the fish more. They would act it out too. It was fascinating.
