Oh God...prayers please?

A friend of mine died today.

We weren't super-close or anything, but we were friendly.

She was crossing the street near school this morning, and was hit by a bus

Her best friend/ex-boyfriend was on the bus that hit her.

Haven't heard from him at all yet, but I cannot imagine the grief and shock he must be feeling right now.

Most of my friends are on their band/chorale competition trip in NYC. They have been informed of the...accident. (They were here when it happened, but didn't know who it was til a while ago. Just talked to them. They're okay; in shock, grieving, but okay.)

RIP, Kimberly A. (Last name).

I found out about it third period today.
It's so horrible.
We weren't given details about who it was. We kept hearing freshmen boy and girl. Then I found out it was a sophomore girl and I immediatly thought of you.
I can not even believe it happend.
I watched the video they had on the news, how they covered up the scene. I know a lot of kids must have seen the aftermath because you have to turn down that street to get to your school.
I can't even imagine what school was like for you today.

Dear goodness, the rumors spread like mad.

First, it was a bus hit a car.

No, no a kid got hit by a bus and is unconsious.

Wait, nope, now he's dead. Yep, yep, a he.

No, updated, definately a she. A freshman? Yes, a freshman.

They called us back to advisory after her family was notified (around 11:00) and came in to each room to tell us. I about broke down (one of her good friends was next to me, and just lost it). The rumors were spreading like wildfire. It was so terrible. Everyone was crying and hugging each other. About 200 kids left during the course of the day. Yes, lots of kids saw the aftermath, and some teachers/parents who happened to be driving by.

We're not sure when her memorial is yet...

Over the day a lot of my school guidance councelors left to go to your school to help out.
I'm also working with a girl who goes to your school tonight. But I'm not even sure that she'll go.

Yes, a councelor from TG did come to our school (that I saw in the library). There was a lot of texting on our end, too (we were even texting with younger siblings at AJHS. Kim's sister, Jamie, goes there...)

I couldn't imagine it, either. Freaky thing was, my best friend had just been saying last week "I'm dreaming again. I never dream at night. When I do, something tragic always happens. Something tragic is going to happen." And...it did.

The initial shock is wearing off a bit. I'm obviously very disturbed and saddened, but...what can you do? I'll never forget her, obviously. She'll always be with us.
