Earlier today, the Glasgow to Sanford flight wasn't showing on the Glasgow airport web site. It has now turned up as another "A" flight (GSM725A as opposed to trhe normal GSM725)
The take off time is as per the schedule:- 14:30

But the airport web site is still showing it not taken off yet, so its 3 hours late already.
This must put the return flight back as well.

I thought their problems were over. seems not.

Showing as gate closed now, so hoping that the flight is ready to leave.

Claire ;)

The gate is still closed and it is now almost 5 hours late. Either the Glasgow Airport website is playing up or.....here we go again.

The Birmingham to manchester flight was 2 hours late this morning as well.

some of the other flights from Glasgow look late as well.

UPDATE
Globespan have now appeared on the Sanford arrivals list.

Yes..and it says it's on time. Must be a problem with the Glasgow Airport Site

What does the "A" mean?

What does the "A" mean?

I take it to mean that although the flight is techinically the same ie all the same passengers it is a new number due to the flight having to change its times of departure, quite drastically. Or it can also be added if a flight is so badly delayed it ends up taking off on the same date as another flight with the same number ie a daily flight, and therefore two flights on the same date cannot have the same number.

In this case the flight is quite badly delayed but not into the next day/date.

Claire ;)

This is really frustrating, as they would no doubt eventually reap the rewards if they would just invest a little on this route.

As it is, they are just going to scare customers away in their droves, so the service is probably doomed to failure.

We could really be doing with a regular service from Scotland that isn't ripping us off with surcharges. I would most likely have been to WDW before now if there had been.

It looks like it has got worse.
the flight now instead of saying gate closed has gone back to "scheduled" that's what it said at the weekend when it was the 39 hour delay.

They are going to blow this...

If this is true and I have no reason to doubt the information, this has gone beyond a joke for the poor passengers!

"GSM725A took off 12 hours late (0235 local 11/05/07). Passengers were not offered any sort of accommodation. They were issued with £4 food vouchers.

GCEJM was tech, this was due to complications after a wheel change. The brakes were damaged, thus the wheel would not turn. It took time to source a new brake-unit. Once it was fitted, it was realized that the new part wouldn't work, therefore the A/C would be overweight for landing. As GSM have no other 757 in their fleet, they used GDLCH (737-800). I believe it came in from PMI a few hours before midnight. "

Good God! 10 hours plus stops in a 737! No In flight entertainment, certainly no premium cabin for those who have paid more.

The poor people at Sanford, who have been waiting for this flight still have to come back and according to Galsgow airport its back at 11;40 today, a day late with a stop at Bangor.

Is cheap flights really worth this hassle? I understand that people around Glasgow want to fly from a local airport (and I hope someone comes up with a better service for them) but is it really worth a day of your holiday and a 737 cabin for 10 hours or so??

Come on globespan, get your act together!!

And to be totally objective here, the Gatwick Airport arrivals list is showing an EXCEL Airways flight XLA121 (is this a TCD flight?) which should have arrived from Sanford at 08:15 now not arriving until tomorrow at 09:30

Brize Norton XLA124P 4:15p On Time

:confused3

Anyone flying from/ to Sanford/ Glasgow with Globespan in the near future should have a look at their recent flight punctuality. It makes poor reading...

The delayed Friday flight which should have been in at 11:40 yesterday is still not showing an arrival time yet! :sad1:

This has to have a knock on effect on the Glasgow-Sanford flight tonight, unless they can turn it round before 6pm
