I just got my Atkins newsletter and it says that Atkins has three types of bread out and it is allowed during Induction......1 slice a day. Oh, I need to run to the stores and see if I can find it!!!!!

I should of kept reading the newsletter....there will also be a brand of yogurt coming out nationwide....in 4 flavors that is allowed during induction.....oh life is sweet!

That's great news. Bread isn't one of my weaknesses, just lucky I guess. My husband really missed it until he got into ketosis, though.

The book does not say this. Are you sure that it is allowed during induction?

There are updates since the book came out. There are new products coming out all the time and no way can the book keep up. The Carb Countdown Milk is also allowed but since it and other things came out AFTER the book it won't be in the book.

Dannon LaCreme has a low carb yogurt. I just saw it today.

Just remember, even though it may be allowed (they want to sell their products, you know...), it may not be advisable. ;)

The cleaner you can eat (meat, veggies, dairy) on induction, the easier it is to kick carb cravings, the quicker you'll lose, and the better you'll feel.

If you wait until you're closer to goal to add in the specialty products, you'll have an easier time of it. If you can stick to "real" foods, you'll be even better off. :)

I agree with dizneegirl... I've noticed that my slowest losses have come during times when I've used a lot of the low carb specialty products. The more you can stick to whole foods during Induction (meat, allowed vegetables, eggs, etc.) the better you'll do.

After Induction, the Atkins bread can become an occasional addition to your diet, but I wouldn't recommend making it something you eat daily.

As Atkins said in his book, the object isn't to make your new way of eating match as closely to your original way of eating. Plus, once you get used to it, bread/pasta/potatoes/sugar just doesn't have the draw that it did before :)

I just read the article about the new bread etc. I was unaware of it before. I just don't think I would eat it until lateron in weight loss. Like already stated I do better sticking to real foods . I do get a few of the low carb products but I try to only get the ones that are no carbs like Walden farms
