Oh Boy! Looks like a 2006 MYW discount is in the works

Thanks for the info. I can just imagine how the next 16 days are going to drive everyone whose looking for a package deal crazy until it's released on 11/3.

I know, but even if it is "only" the hoppers for free.......... it still saves me at least $240.00!!!! That's a lot!! I'm still excited to see if there's "more"!!!! but, just that is good enough for me!!!

wendypooh,

Congrats. Saving $240 is saving $240 regardless of how it's done. That can be used towards meals or other trip related things.

OH Lord, I know, I have also got the dining as well, so, the savings "pays" almost half of that if I look at it that way! I'm pleased all the way around if that is it!!!! I'm just happy for any discount at all...........

I hope everyone is as happy as I am about this!!!!!!

wendypooh,

I would be looking into this except for:

1. I have an AP
2. Did BRP for Feb 06 trip and got AKL-Standard for $150.30 a night (saving me $78 a night x 10 nights).

OMG --- that is a great rate at AKL. We are staying there for our upcoming trip and as I'm sure you know.......... I'd LOVE to get that rate!!!! I don't have an AP, but, maybe there will be a discount on the room part of the package too. Even so, any discount at all will be just fine with me!!!

Hey, I may even get complimentary upgraded to a savannah view ... :confused3

It could happen???? Right........... LOL

That is a great rate though....... congrats!!!

wendypooh,

Someone on here mentioned that I should check out my dates on the BRP screen and see what comes up and boy was I surprised. I have always wanted to stay at AKL, but it was always expensive and never worked out. Like I said anytime you can save money regardless of how much, should make you happy.

I'm also hoping for a savannah room upgrade, but if I don't get it no big deal since most of my time is going to be spent at the parks and that's why I didn't reserve a savannah room in the first place.

LOL, Jason............

I was just looking at your sig........... and almost passed out, I thought it said you'd be at Disney from Dec. 1 thru Feb. 21.............. LOL

I misread the dates, and thought, WOW, what does he do that he can stay at Disney for so long............. LOL

Then I re-read it............ boy, I must be dizzy from all the excitement about this new discount!!! LOL :rolleyes1

wendypooh,

I wish. I'm staying Feb 11-21 at AKL and then spliting my stay in Dec, 06 and staying 12-1 to 12-6 at WL and then 12-6 to 12-11 at Poly. I actually used my AAA discount for my Dec reservation and saved $570 on that trip.

It's kind of funny because discount after discount has come out and other people got to use them except for me and I started to wonder if I would ever get one that would work. While I was happy for those who could use the promotions and codes, I was really jealous was well especially when the 7 for 4 deal came out a year or so ago. I guess my patience finally paid off.

I'm lost what discount are you all talking about? What is and where can if find out about BRP?
Sounds like you have found some fantastic savings. Please share. :earsgirl:

I'm happy for you!!!! The only discount we ever got was last year, we got a pin for POFQ for the same $ as the values, so we did it. I'm glad that this new discount will apply to us............ as it'll be the 2nd discount for us EVER in about 20 years worth of trips!!!! LOL

Like you said, any discount is a good discount!!! Again, I'm glad you got such a great deal at all the resorts, but I'm really jealous of the discount you got at AKL!!!!! LOL ;)

Well, I'm off. Have a good night!!

angel,

There is a discount coming out for trips in Jan. thru Mar. 2006, it isn't out yet, but if you click the link in my first post you'll see it.

As for BRP, that is the best rate program for AP holders. Jason has an AP, and got that rate. The only way to get it is to buy the AP.

Angel16,

Lets see if I can shed some light on this.

For my Feb reservation I used BRP:

BRP or Best Rate Program is a section on the WDW online system where AP holders can go on and book there reservations 60 day's in advance and it will pull up the best rate that you can get for that time. This eliminates having to call over and over and over trying to get an AP discount. Sometimes that discount is really good and sometimes there isn't any discount. It just depends on your timing.

For my December 06 reservation I used AAA discount:

With the AAA discount all you need to get this is be a AAA memeber and then depending on what time of the year your going and where your staying you get a curtain % off each night of your stay. This is subject to AAA discount availability just like with any other discount.

wendypooh,

I should be jealous of you because you've had 20 years of trips to WDW and I have just had a handful. Maybe someday I will get to that point.

LOL Jason,

I've only actually started staying onsite the last 4 years!!!! We've always done values, but last year we did POFQ........ with the code. NOW, we are fortunate enough to stay at AKL!!!! We really don't spend much time in the room anyway, so for us, it's just a place to sleep, so it never really mattered much, but, to be able to stay deluxe at Disney is so exciting. We've stayed at the Royal Pacific at US/IOA for the last 5 years in a row........ we've always been able to get great rates, plus FOTL is awesome!!!! I'm just so excited about this trip, and now this discount will make it even better!!!!

OK, I really am going now............ but, I probably won't sleep again till Nov. 3rd............... LOL

I hope there is a "room only" type discount coming. We already have left over passes and my DH probably won't go to the parks. He's going for a seminar in Orlando. This is all if he winds up going to this thing.

I do have AAA. Can the AAA discount be applied off codes or specials or is it only good off rack rates?

How do you find out AAA rates for a specific time of year?
