offsite hotels to visit DL and explore

We all have APs and just got back from DL but planning a trip in November, December or January or all three depending on our schedules. We have stayed on site the last few times and that EMH is great, but since we would be doing shorter trips sometimes with just maybe one day or two at DL and another just going to places we like in the LA area i'm thinking we will stay off site. We would be visiting DL many times this coming year so being on site and going to the parks everyday is not a must.

What hotels are walk able and also have great amenities like pool, breakfast. We have stayed at the Hilton and Marriott before but would prefer something closer. Weren't there new hotels coming to the area? have those opened yet? We also have free parking at the parks and wouldn't mind staying further in a nicer hotel closer to the beach or other areas and driving but we have never parked and it looks like it takes quite some time to park and get to the parks. How early do you have to be thereto park and to make it to rope drop?

My favorite is the Tropicana Inn and Suites, but have stayed at many on Harbor. They’re all great walking distance! Can’t remember which have breakfast or pools but there’s many threads out there talking about the off site hotel amenities!

Thanks. I guess i don't need breakfast but it would be nice to have on days we are not going to the park. The cambria looks nice thanks.

Anywhere on Harbor Blvd is easily walkable and less than 10 min walk between the BW Plus Anaheim Inn on the south end to Hojo's on the north end.

...And it looks like they DO serve breakfast at the Cambria! From their website:
"Free Daily Hot Breakfast Start the morning right with a nutritious hot breakfast from our complimentary, generous breakfast included in your room rate. Complete with egg and breakfast meat stations, waffles, pancakes, fresh juices, hot coffee, and seasonal specials, enjoy the convenience of breakfast ready when you are—without ever having to leave the hotel."

In my opinion, though, I always opt to stay within walking distance (which is about 2/3 of a mile) whenever possible, and this one looks to be out of my "comfortable walking range".

is it always better to choose a closer hotel and walk or grab ART than driving in and parking?

Now that are kids are older and don't need car seats, we stay further away and Uber in. The last time we parked at Mickey and Friends it was a nightmare and we have ubered ever since.
Thanks this sounds like a good idea. Where does the uber drop off? is it easy to get an uber back after the parks? We dont have to be on site each time or close by since we are going to be going many times this year but just want to make sure it is not more of a hassle to stay offsite

We usually get dropped off at the drop off area on Harbor near the pedestrian entrance (where shuttles drop off). I think there is a place on the DTD side you can get dropped off at too. We go early, we like to be there for rope drop. On the way home, we just go out to the Grand and the uber picks us up there. They have a special lane for Uber and Lyft.
