Anyone staying (or has stayed offsite) during Spring/Easter break have any planning strategies to share? We will be about a mile from DTD's entrance. I just saw that the parks will open at 7am some of the days we plan to be there. My kids are going to mutiny if we have to get up at 5am every morning!

The 7AM openings are probably for Extra Magic Hours---which you are not eligible for.

That said, while it is your vacation, there is really no substitute to getting there first thing in the morning, especially during busier times. Late evening isn't as bad as mid-day, but it's not as good as early AM. You can sleep in, but if you do you have to recognize that your touring will be more challenging.

Very true....

I just checked the hours & yes the 7am is for EMH. So I guess we should be at the gate at 730am for all park days. I think we will leave the parks after dinner & get to bed earlier so we can make the most of the mornings...not so easy with teens now though.:lmao:

You don't need *every* day to be an early morning. We usually only do 2-3 in a row before taking a break. I'd also consider morning/break/evening days instead of morning through dinner.

We had mutiny issues with the teens and Grandparents in our huge group (over 60 people) who all stayed offsite last July for a family reunion. We let them rule/fail the 1st day at the parks. Knowing full well that this would be a mess but we had 7 more days and it was worth the 1st day nightmare to prove the point. We arrived after 11 am and were only able to score one fast pass all day. We also had to wait in lines at least 90 min long for the major attractions...The next day everyone but one hold out Grandparent was up and out the door by 7am. The holdout meet us at noon, in the parkinglot as we had gone on all the must sees for the day and were heading back for a afternoon swim/rest at our resort. We went back in the evenings for the entertainment. By day 3 the holdout was the 1st one ready to go.

Good luck. I hope you have a great trip.
