***Officially Official September 2017 Thread***

So sorry to hear about everyone having to cancel! On a positive note, today is our single digit day! 9 days 'til Disney!

We are planning to be proactive and watch what happens over the weekend. Our biggest concerns now are the aftermath, and all the people rescheduling for the next week!
OMG me too. I've been so paranoid I forgot its single digits  I agree with you. I'm driving from Ohio next Saturday and I'm worried about traffic going back into FL. I don't think many are rebooking for our week because Jose is now lingering too. Most are pushing way back.

We cancelled this morning, still heartbroken about it. Was supposed to arrive tomorrow. I thought coming home from Disney was bad, try canceling the day before. Sad and have cried all day. They didn't have any FD dates available to rebook us. So if we rebook it will be without that, and that hurts as we will have to shorten the trip to offset food costs. Unpacking the luggage was horrible, and cancelling those hard to get ADRs and FPs. Sigh.
Ugh. Just reading that made me sad. I have this happy little corner in my bedroom of things I want to bring with me on the trip. Unpacking that would be so sad! I stalked a FoP FP for so many weeks before I got it, letting that go would also be a punch to the gut. And yes, I know, there are many more things sad in this world than cancelling a WDW vacation, but just know we all understand! I think you should start planning out the next trip soon!!

I have gone from a few weeks ago obsessing over whether I have the right line-up of ADRs and FPs, to now wondering things like "Will there be gas for our rental car?". My single digit dance today is definitely an awkward and conflicted one.

I'm optimistic about Jose though and am sticking with "No way Jose!". I like www.ventusky.com and it looks like Jose is going the right way!

We are driving straight through from Ohio next Saturday and now I'm worried not only about gas but the flood of traffic coming BACK into FL.

Anyone here going the week of the 18th? What are your thoughts about the weather during that time?

I'm coming Solo the 19 to the 23. I can't cancel I won't get back any of my F&W event money back unfortunately. Hopefully Jose and Katia stay away!

Thanks for the review @QueenTM12 I just had a look at doing the dessert party for one of my MK nights and currently not available but I shall bare that in mind about the crowds and see what happens, its just me trying to fit into the crowd so it's not as bad as trying to get the family in.

Probably the best advise is to stake out a place early(we didn't) and keep away from any of the "walkways". Our biggest mistake was trying to find a place about 15 minutes before the show---my girl(DD21) needed a dole whip bad!!! My other advice is to not stand behind someone who is 6'5" unless you are too.....

I know what you mean. I have expiring DVC points that expire at the end of the month. Even if they are waiving the 30 day cancellation I won't be able to use them by 9/30. So we're going.

We are there 19-26. Right now I'm just watching everything like a hawk. I'm checking JetBlue and wdw multiple times a day. First we have to worry about Irma. Then we have to worry about the damage left behind. Then possibly Jose.

I'm being realistic. I think we'll be fine but who knows. I'm already planning a January trip in case we do have to reschedule. I even started booking all my adrs to mirror this trip.

After all this time and tons of money I don't want to go just to go. Id rather wait and go later if there's any hurricane issues.

Newest update has Irma shifting more to the right and not going up the center of Florida. Still not great news but better for Florida residents.

As of this morning, they really couldn't predict anything and up through Central Florida was still very much a possibility.

Maybe we are crazy, but we are still keeping an eye on the weather and predictions. Now, we are staying 8 days. So if we have to shave a day or two off of the front, or even add a day, we can. We also don't have to worry about airfare. So it is totally up to us when we leave home to head down.

Our vacation is the 10th through the 17th.

I don't think I'm crazy but then again who knows? I would probably do the same thing as you. We're going in October which, by the way, is still Hurricane season but I'm not willing to give up my WDW trip unless my departure is within a day of the storm's arrival or our flight is cancelled. This time of year freaks me out and is one reason why I generally don't book cruises or WDW trips in Sep-Oct. I did so this year because I've always wanted to do MNSSHP. Same reason I've never gone in January, and I would love to go then, if there's even a chance I won't get out because of a snowstorm. I'm too much of a worrier about stuff like this.:worried: Praying it misses most of Florida but according to the models, it will hit somewhere in the U.S. so none of this is reassuring. I just pray for all folks affected.

I think my family is crazy, they still want to go, I said we will keep an eye out, and decide tomorrow morning..... We will have a family meeting tonight to discuss our choices, I worry about road closing Friday..... I feel we will be safe at Disney, but it's not 100% .... Just prayers it keeps moving east...

I moved my 9/8-9/11 trip out to 9/15-9/19. Sad I lost my ADR and FPs but at least I'm not losing my home or life like some of those poor people in Texas and the islands...Perspective.

Hopefully Irma leaves Florida in one piece and Jose gets the hell out of dodge.

Keep searching for adrs. If you check often enough, you'll find what you're looking for. Better to have changed your trip.

Continuing to stalk the weather feeds for news on Irma! We are set to fly down on 9/17-9/23 and I am so paranoid that we will be dealing with the aftermath, I just need to keep reminding myself that a cancelled wdw trip is not the end of the world

I think Jose is going to be more of a threat to the northeast than the southeast. I'm flying down on the 17th We have been watching closely. I have a few friends who live just outside of Orlando and my grandfather is in Stuart, so while worried about them I'm starting to feel a little guilty for being worried about my vacation. :confused3 Totally don't know how to feel.
